Beautiful ensembles Marie-Anne. I never thought of wearing my pearls with my turtlenecks but I will be sporting that look thanks to you! Ill enjoy watching this video again, so much information
Thanks for this! A black turtleneck has been in my wardrobe for the last 20 years!!! I also have beige, purple, blue, navy ones, too!!!! This year I am opting for roundneck or vneck sweaters with silk scarves! Not only do they look great but they keep your neck warm!!!
I have been meaning to get turtlenecks! For the longest time I never wore them because I didn't find them flattering on me, but frankly, I'd rather be warm! Necklaces paired with turtlenecks are SO CHIC!
Another fabulous video! My favorites were the gray belted cardigan and the black blazers, but all were very chic!! I always think, how is she going to top that video, but you always do. They just get better and better!
Debra Gaskill I love the belted look too. Mary-Anne LeCoeur with the belt everything can look bulky. What size jacket should be the highest size that a person should wear a belt like that? I wear a 10 or 12 and I think it could make me look huge.
Most of the outfits and combinations of different pieces added to the black turtleneck is beautiful, black on black combinations with the scarf with the cars on it are my favorites. Cannot narrow a favorite to one. Thank you for sharing your style wisdom.
I finally just purchased a cashmere turtleneck, one cream and one black from Banana republic . I also purchased a mock neck camel cashmere. Waiting to have them delivered. I have been really impressed with the quality of the items I have purchased from them thus far. Their knits are ultra slimming. Unbelievable.
@@MarieAnneLecoeur yes. When, I get toned up and into regular exercise routine. I was just in the hospital again, so when I feel better. Turtlenecks are a basic in my wardrobe. I have both long sleeve and sleeveless styles. I have them in a variety of colors and wear them year round. I don’t care to wear them under shirts or dresses but do love to wear them with jackets, blazers and cardigans. I probably wear a turtleneck at least once a week. It’s been one of my favorite wardrobe basics for 20 years +. Thank you for your video! 🥰
How fun it was to watch this video. Loved Loved Loved it. I came home from running errands, I was wearing my black turtle neck-loose neck (perfect) now I know, with a sweater over it and black jeans and booties and....my black beret! I was just running errands and got so many compliments. It surprised me...or delighted me. Thank you for all the style help. You are amazing Happy Christmas !
I live in turtlenecks. But I've never tried pearls with them--my favourite look in this video, so simple and elegant, with that element of surprise. I also love the long cardigan, tweed jacket and polkadot/striped scarf combo. Thanks for these wonderful ideas, Marie-Anne! 😘💕
Great ideas! I couldn't live without my black turtleneck and my white turtleneck. I live in them all winter. For some reason, I never thought of wearing them with scarves, but I will from now on. It makes them look a little dressier.
@@MarieAnneLecoeur My husband and I are leaving on a cruise around Cape Horn on December 18. I don't want to overpack, so I'm taking four or five scarves to take with the three tops (two are turtlenecks) that I'm wearing for the colder ports. Two of the scarves are inexpensive ones that I bought in Paris many years ago. I hand hemmed them so that they look more expensive. I'll tell you how I did with trying to look like I'm not wearing the same thing every day!
I am really enjoying your videos and this one was excellent! Great ideas! I would like to hear you speak to those who look best in different basic colours like ivory and camel rather than black, grey and navy. I look best in spring colours due to my skin tone, blond hair and colouring and look terrible in black. I never wear black against my face as it is very aging. I can wear a warm clear navy and light warm grey but must be careful with the colours as it makes an amazing difference . I think it is much easier for those who can wear black, navy and grey. I have been trying some of your ideas with scarves and outfits, and on a recent vacation to Japan, I had many comments about my "elegant style" and "French chic" look which boosted my confidence. I have been taken for a French woman in Paris too until I start talking - very little French! Ha, ha. Thanks for being so inspiring!
Marie-Anne, I love your Chanel inspired jackets! They always remind me of ... Jackie Kennedy! Your Pegasus scarf worn draped looks both nonchalant and elegant at the same time!? That's the way I often drape one of my scarves ... and always receive compliments on it! We're having Texas winter 1 or 2 days at a time now. Yesterday it was 70°F (21°C) and today it's 35°F (1.6°C)! So layers it is! 🥴👍💞💞
What a delightful video, Marie-Anne! I live in turtlenecks from Oct - March. My faves of your outfits were the black jacket with gold piping, simple black blazers, and belted long sweater! I’m big busted, hourglass shape, so I usually wear a long pashmina scarf in a contrasting color/pattern either hanging little big with a single knot, one loop around my neck forming a sort of cowl effect, or unfolded like a shawl and knotted asymmetrically to one side. I love your passion and enthusiasm and how you kept the pace of this video moving with your energy, with musical interludes, and with telling us “but wait, there’s MORE!” Thank you for all the great chic styling ideas!!!
So happy I came across this video as I quite like a turtle neck in the cold months. Honestly, I never thought of wearing it under a dress - terrific idea.
Marie-Anne, I know they are a lot of work, but I enjoy these longer videos with examples...fresh perspectives are so helpful, especially when I am trying to love and rejuvenate my existing wardrobe.
Can't pick a a favorite - they're all great! Two scarves in the same color scheme can bring ancient scarves back to life. This week - I almost gave away 2 creme-background silk oblongs -- both w wine & blue florals -- twisted them together to make a coil necklace. Then tied the ends in a bow on the side. Stunning look w every day scarves from the late 1990s!
Thank you Marie-Anne. You have created the quintessential style guide for turtlenecks. Your video has reminded me of all the jackets, sweaters, scarves, capes pants and whatnot I already have in my closet that would work beautifully with turtlenecks (which I love). You have given a breath of fresh air to my wardrobe that I’ll enjoy this fall and winter (for years to come). Merci!
I love wearing turtlenecks. Thank you so much Marie for that video. What I like about tour style gudelines is that they appeal to all age range. I'm 26 and I feel like I can pull off so many of the styles you demonstrated. My favorite was the Cardigan one. I love Cardigans and I never thought of wearing them that way before. Merci. Bisous.
Trying to pick a favorite is impossible! Every combination is sensational. I love turtleneck sweaters, jackets, scarves and hats. Those are my go-to pieces all winter long. These looks will be fabulous with your new handbag, too. Thanks for sharing.
My neck is thin and long, so i think turtleneck looks more elegant on me than round. My favourite is in black, but also in navy and off white. So thank you for this video, I enjoyed it so much! I guess that turtleneck with faux fur scarf is special on you, with your skin tone and haircut.
I ADORE a black turtleneck! Love t wear them with cardigans, tunics, and silk scarves! Thank you for taking the stress out of scarf wearing. So freeing to know that I can just put one on and go without it having to be perfect!!
Perfect timing! I just found out my husband bought me a black cashmere turtleneck for Christmas. LOL When you were wearing your outfit with your new hat you must have looked like you just came off the runway. Very sharp!
Marie-Anne Lecoeur I will probably wear a colorful scarf with it or/and a long sweater on top. I don’t own any jackets. I live in Arizona and we are more casual here.
Karen Setchfield It was in a bag on the floor and I thought it was something I was supposed to wrap for Christmas. I will definitely act surprised. Can’t wait to open it tho. LOL
I LOVE layering. A turtleneck over a blouse or dress is so pretty, especially the patterned ones. My favorite way to wear a turtleneck is under a man's wool, pinstripe waistcoat/vest. I love black, but dark gray suits my coloring better so I have several in that color in cotton, wool, cashmere to cover all the seasons.
Turtlenecks has been a staple in my wardrobe pretty much all my life. I have a school photo in kindergarten, I'm dressed in a dark green turtleneck, with a plaid navy blue and green jumper .😊🍁
I love turtlenecks. I have many colors. Black is certainly a favorite. Some are heavier and some are light. I layer them in winter. That was another great video. 😎
If my neck is cold, my entire body is cold. A turtleneck layer makes all the difference. I didn’t know it was so French chic though. Who knew? Oooo la la. Good video.
Bonjour, Marie-Anne. The black cowl neck and mock neck merino or cashmere sweaters have been staples of my wardrobe for years. I don't think I could get through winter without them! Your tips on pairing with a blouse were interesting. I am an inverted triangle, so that might not work too well on me, but it is lovely for others! The bright scarf over the turtleneck is so beautiful -- always a favorite. This was yet another wonderful video. I love that black felt fedora with the light camel jacket -- so smart!
@@MarieAnneLecoeur -- very athletic and wide in the shoulders and across the shoulder blades, but not so large in the bust. I feel that it would add bulk or emphasis to my upper body, and I am often trying to decrease bulk and emphasis there, create verticality or v-shaped lines to break the bulk of the horizontality. And then keep things nipped in fairly close to my comparably slender hips (I have a short waist and long comparably slender legs). The big trick is hiding a tummy.
I am cold natured, and live in a very cold winter region. Love my turtlenecks; I have a black, white and grey one. My go-to way to wear them is under a v neck pullover sweater, or under my merino wool cardigan. I love the example of wearing them under dresses!
Love the scarves! Black is a great "grounding" color. Allows for a lot of freedom in pops of color. I love the belted cardigan look so much. Very classy. I own about four cashmere turtlenecks. They're and ivory, Navy, black, and true red. They are so versatile! And warm.
Another wonderful video! Thank you! 💞 What I would love to see is how you care for clothes that have been worn once or twice or even more times (jeans). I try to wear them several days in a row but that doesn't always fit and I end up with a pile of clothes that are not dirty but can't go back with the clean either 😊 Thank you, my dear!
Love the outfit with the black jacket and hat. Love the black and white check jacket outfit (the one you also adore). Scarves look great the way you tie them. So chic 💜
I have a short neck and a large bust so it’s cowl necks for me. I have just one, in teal green chenille, which I wore with a brown, needlecord, A line skirt, a brown belt over the knit, and brown tights and shoes. I felt really good in that. I am going to try the following after watching your video: 1. With a pendant necklace. 2. Under a dress, if the necklines work together. 3. Over a dress, maybe so it looks like a skirt and top. 4. Under a long cardigan, belted. Plus a knee length skirt. Thank you for the ideas 👌
Great video! My favorite way to style my turtlenecks is with jackets/blazers. I love wearing scarves with them, too. My favorite takeaway was putting two complimentary scarves together - very sharp.
Bonjour Marie-Anne! I enjoyed your scarf magic. I have many to try along with my white wool blazer, pink quilted blazer, black plaid dress & leopard sleeveless dress with v-neck. Thanks again for your brilliant ideas!! ox
I really enjoyed this video, Marie-Anne. I think it is because of your ingenuity in creating so many looks with a Canadian staple, the black turtleneck! I loved all of your blazers with the turtleneck, but personally I don't wear them for festive or evening occasions as I feel they are too "covered up". That is just my take on the turtleneck. I wear mine with jeans, dress pants and skirts. I love the idea of a long pendant necklace to elongate the look.
Love the faux fur scarf! Of course the hat is tres chic! I wish we all wore more hats. I loved the turtle neck under the gray cowl neck dress. I never would have thought of it!
I love all your videos, Marie-Anne but this one especially. I took notes on all the ways you styled the simple black turtleneck. I especially liked how you used scarves and wraps. Your styling tips have taught me how to be chic and elegant. You are not only knowledgeable but fun to watch, too. Thank you for your worthwhile content.
I tried it already and it looks so beautiful ! I had black skinny jeans , black turtle neck sweater and black ankle boots and the pearls I wore on top of it made my outfit stunning !
I never thought of how many outfits one top the turtle neck can make! I definitely need the cowl neck. I have a shorter neck and an oval/round face. I need to do what you show in this video. Take stuff out and put it together on my dress form. I use the Stylebook app but I will try your method.
I love wearing turtlenecks as I am very cold natured. i always layer for warmth and elegance. It is a great staple to extend a winter wardrobe. My favorites are the turtle neck worn with the jackets. The grey Boden jacket is beautiful, the check and contrasting jackets with the black turtleneck are my favorite. Your new hat really sets it off. Wonderful ideas!
Fabulous styling Marie-Anne! I love all the looks, but my favourite is the turtle neck under the dress. So chic! Really shows how versatile a simple sweater can be. Sadly my short wide neck is not flattered by the turtleneck, but I will try some of these ideas with my own crew neck sweaters to see if they work for me..... More experiments to document in my style journal!!! 💖👍💖
I just love a good turtleneck, one of my favourite pieces. However, as I age...yes..the neck can not be too tight! I sew, and therefor I can customize the neckline. Also, I’m Canadian, it is so cold in the winter, I find it a stable for warmth! I actually have a few “ nickies” worn with lower neck lines. Your many styling approaches for the humble, yet elegant turtleneck ( what we call it here) was awesome. You went the extra mile! . I usually appreciate them plain, simple, no adornment, my personal style.
Just saw this video and once again, you have inspired so many new wardrobe ideas. I loved the turtle neck with the quilted jacket, black overcoat and hat. Merci for the inspiration!
You have shown me how to layer my clothes for winter without looking like an over-stuffed cushion! Thank you yet again. I have rediscovered roll neck jumpers. I think here in the UK a high neck is called a polo neck or roll neck, and usually a turtle neck means a slightly less high ribbed neck.
Marie-Anne, I enjoy your videos and this one was great reinforcing some ideas I already wear and reminding me of others. So from one Marie-Anne to another, merci! Marie-Anne in the US

Fantastic tips, Marie-Anne. Felicitations!
Thank you! 💞
What I would love to see is how you care for clothes that have been worn once or twice or even more times (jeans).
So chic 💜
Thanks for the inspiring video. You have given me more ideas about how to wear turtlenecks.
Great ideas. I love watching your older videos too. Still works.
Well done. I enjoy wearing pins off to left side on the rolled neck.
I like the shirt over turtleneck look, especially if the shirt has a collar, like the one you show.
Love turtlenecks with blazers and cardigans.
I have a short neck and a large bust so it’s cowl necks for me. I have just one, in teal green chenille, which I wore with a brown, needlecord, A line skirt, a brown belt over the knit, and brown tights and shoes. I felt really good in that. I am going to try the following after watching your video:
1. With a pendant necklace.
2. Under a dress, if the necklines work together.
3. Over a dress, maybe so it looks like a skirt and top.
4. Under a long cardigan, belted. Plus a knee length skirt.
Thank you for the ideas 👌
lovely video, super chic outfits! My favourite is your office one. I have and I have always had a black turtleneck … a must have piece!!
Always thought I couldn’t wear a turtleneck but the trick with the scarves was so useful
Love the dress options and the plain black jacket ... and the wrap with a scarf... x
Carol Bohn I agree! It really is a staple, especially in winter.
Love the faux fur scarf! Of course the hat is tres chic! I wish we all wore more hats. I loved the turtle neck under the gray cowl neck dress. I never would have thought of it!
Merci Marie. I like your enthusiasm!
Not with big bust its a no no
I love the tweed jacket combine the most but all of them look lovely☺️ thank you Marie Anne i’m addicted to your chanel💜
My pleasure😍😍
I love all your videos, Marie-Anne but this one especially. I took notes on all the ways you styled the simple black turtleneck. I especially liked how you used scarves and wraps. Your styling tips have taught me how to be chic and elegant. You are not only knowledgeable but fun to watch, too. Thank you for your worthwhile content.
I love all the looks especially the pearl necklace with the turtleneck. Can’t wait to try it!
I tried it already and it looks so beautiful ! I had black skinny jeans , black turtle neck sweater and black ankle boots and the pearls I wore on top of it made my outfit stunning !
That’s it Ivette; I’m wearing your outfit tomorrow!
I never thought of how many outfits one top the turtle neck can make! I definitely need the cowl neck. I have a shorter neck and an oval/round face. I need to do what you show in this video. Take stuff out and put it together on my dress form. I use the Stylebook app but I will try your method.
Wow! What great ideas. Thank you Marie-Anne. I loved each and every look and would wear any of them myself.
I just bought 2 turtlenecks one in black and one in burgundy so thank you for the great ideas! I love them all 👍❤
I love videos like this. I like to wear my turtleneck over a dress and belt the turtleneck. Tres chic. 👩
Just found you ! Love absolutely ! Adore your taste in classic lines and style
The faux fur scarf is very nice. I love to layer my turtlenecks under blouses, dresses jackets etc.
Interesting idea to wear two scarves at the same time!
A good idea. Surprised me, too.
i really like the looks with the scarfs. they're all very nice ,difficult tosay which one i like best
I too will try my pearls with the roll neck.
Love love love all the looks, but especially, the last one with the hat! Smart indeed.
I also love navy blue blazers.
Brilliant! So much information in a short video. Many tips I can apply to my style choices. Thank you .
Marie-Anne in the US
I like wearing turtlenecks. Really good ideas and so classy. I liked the scarves and the last one is so French chic. Thank you Marie-Anne ❤
Hi Marie-Anne... I have learned sooo much from your videos. I love turtlenecks and have many different colours except black. That will be my next pruchase. I also love scarves and you have given me many different ideas and am so excited because I will be traveling in September and I will change my list of clothes to pack. I can't pick a favorite because I love all your ideas.
I love all your videos. You have made a new woman out of me!! Keep on videoing!
Great video and I especially learned some new tricks with the jewelry and dress examples you gave. I love black and navy turtle necks. I am never without one in the fall and winter. My climate is not super cold, so many evenings I can wear one without a jacket.
