Thank you much for posting this. I wonder how much of a help the vocal coach was being to Miss Howes here. Telling a singer with her instrument not to sing it seems odd to me. Ultimately, she brought down the house with “Send in the Clowns.” That’s all that matters.

Singers rely on their musical conductors when singing to their arrangements.

I think it’s important to not “sing” this song. Oversinging takes away from the simple, painful truth.
