That has to be the best tank so far..totally 🤩 amazing..and the guy sounds so nice and genuine..Mick thx for these amazing videos..keep up the brilliant work..
Amazing aquarium, huge thanks to you and Raj love the passion. It is one of your more informative videos. I love these tank visits. Keep up the great work mick.
What an incredible, almost unbelievable set up of tanks and sump, if I hadn’t seen the video, I’d find it hard to believe that all this was in Rajs house. Absolutely stunning rays and other fish to have as your aquarium pets. 👍🏴
not long found your channel but love hearing from other UK based fish enthusiasts. merely based on our climate its worse up north where i am located. love the videos mate keep em coming. im watching back to previous videos also :D.
Absolutely incredible tank, kudos to the owner! Wish I had known him when I was keeping rays, albeit getting more again soon! Altho makes me realise how little filtration you need to be okay, those plastic tubs with the k1 beds and ceramic media are tiny in comparison to the tank! I used to have a 8x6 ray pond and had a pond sieve, bead filter and about 100kg of media in a trickle tower! Definitely simpler the better. Think I went overkill 😂
Awesome video always love your content such an underrated channel personally one of my favorite channels for fish keeping. You should get a goonch catfish but not like the dwarf one the regular goonch they dont get massive in captivity but it would be a great addition to your collection
Lovely tank. BUT- adding water to compensate just for evaporation is NOT a water change. The tds and mineral levels in that tank will be sky high. A drip system should also have an overflow incorporated to continually ‘change’ water. If he’s topping up with RO or demin water then that’s different but water changes will still be required
Lol, I still do manual water changes weekly, i should have mentioned that in the recording. I have a 40mm pvc pipe plumbed in where the can be removed and replaced via garden hose at 29° using hot and cold water. I've kept fish for over 18 years same method, no chemicals just water from the tap
Sorry Mick but I’m not into this one mate. The tank is amazing and so are the fish, but there is a hell of a lot squashed in there. He’s going to get a lot more injuries as they all mature.
There are 5 females and 2 males, 3 out of the 5 females will most probably hit 27-30" disc and top out, but considering their age, they will only get thicker and grow slower in size. I will be building a glass aquarium measuring 24ftx6ftx4 and sump 24ftx4ftx3, so that's more than enough for 5 Ray's in a home. Obviously I can never match what they would have had in the wild, however bearing in mind most fish keepers would only have a 6ft or 8ft tank that would definitely be too small for stingrays like black diamonds or hybrids. But those 6 or 8ft tanks could house marble stingrays or hystrix as they dont get much bigger then dinner plates.
Biotype by definition is a group of organisms having an identical genetic constitution.... and yes i have not overcrowded my own tank, what would be the point of putting more large fish together. It's like being at a train station at rush hour but stuck there your entire life, so again what is the point of overcrowding but only to please yourself. A fish enthusiast should really concentrate on recreating a similar environment to where the fish originated from. Anyways thank you for your comment.
@@bigfish-nj9pz By defenition does not cover what is ment by a biotope. I never said one should overcrowd a tank neither. But a reflection of nature and the area where the fish are from is what I ment.
@@michelrood2966 fair enough, can I ask what you would do with an aquarium of my size. I'm not trying to start an argument or dispute, I'm just curious. As you mentioned biotope right, so within a square tank meant as a room divider, having any large bogwood or rocks would do 2 things reduce the viewing angle through the tank secondly these Ray's are very large, so would reduce the space in the tank for them. Hence I've kept my aquascape very minimal. I'll put a pic of how I had my 11ftx4ftx2.5ft tank aquascaped which in my opinion I thought was great but as my stingrays grew the large aquascape had to get smaller
@@bigfish-nj9pz when I learned aquascaping one rule I learned is to never array any decorations paralel to the front glass since this takes away the ilussion of depth . What we did is, wheter we used rocks or wood or a combination of the two, was to arange it in the shape of the number 7 . Its hard to explain this but i'll try. Imagine drawing a 7 in your tank by s tarting out in the front left corner is where the upper smaller part of the 7 should be, pull it all the way to the back but not parralel to the side glass. then pull the longest part of the 7 all the way down to the front corner on the right. Remember that none of lines should line up with the glass parralel On these lines one should place the decorations..This way it creates depth, doesnt divide the tank in two, And doesnt rake up a lot of space.which would be perfect for you. I wish I could draw it out for you . If I came across as an @sshole first, my apologies.
@@michelrood2966 very much appreciated for the insight into aquascaping. I will have to secure everything to the base of the tank, only because my stingray love to throw around rocks and bogwood, I have 18 pieces of bogwood joint together via marine grade screws and weights close to 180kg outside of water, but they still throw it around, but obviously it's not that heavy in water but will still for 180kg to be thrown around lol if I dont secure the number 7 arrangements which I definitely want to try, it won't be number 7 anymore lol. When I build my 24ftx6ftx4 tank I will definitely apply your advice, it actually does make sense. And no you didnt come across as a negative person I only just want reasons behind anyone's opinions so yeah it's all good I appreciate you taking the time to reply back.
Must be nice to be a rich Dad's son. Its almost clear that the guy you interviewed has barely any knowledge of the hobby and is totally relying on 3rd parties for support. Mick, your coverage was as always TOP DRAW, but I was sickened with what I saw here. Life can be so unfair en'it. Laters!

Just hit that subscribe button 👍🏻 - both myself and my son have been really enjoying the videos. He loves the Arowana’s 🤙🏻
Hey mate that’s awesome thanks so much 👊👊
Stunningly beautiful. I can’t believe no one noticed the question mark pattern on that female hybrid Ray lol

Great Video Waaooo!!! 👌🏼🙌🙌
Nice!!! Dream tank 👌
Impressive
Definitely the best tank so far. What substrate is he using there? I'm after something like that for my ray tank.
Amazing tank, don’t reckon the misses will go for this though 😂😂
Wow
What stress guard do you use?
Lovely
Dream 💭 tank beautiful
I have a mate in sevonosks who’s has a 2000 gallon tank So I don’t think so
I’ve just checked it’s 1850 gallons sorry
@@liamwalters5029 you liar you. Haha.
Get him to message me mate ☺️👍🏻
Makes my 1600 L tank look small lol
Awesome tanks I would be bricking it with the cracks thou
Mental.. dream tank right there.
Awesome tank that jack Dempsey video looked crazy to anyone got the link to that ?
Aquarium envy.
I know of around 6/7 in Scotland that are bigger in private homes
Wish him luck with electric blue jack Dempsey, expensive and really unstable fish very few reach adult size
19mm for 8x8?

well that's absolutely beautiful puts all us TH-cam fish guys two shame :( time for upgrades
J'adore 💙💙💚💚💙💙
amazing
I am so jeleous
Where are the rest of the 9000 liters hiding even adding the sump and the small tank in front of the big is still far away from 9000.......
No way does the ray weigh 60kg though
Not a chance!!… i throw 30kg bags of graphite about at work, I doubt if it weighs 20..
I'm not surprised they're stabbing each other and the other tank occupants. They don't have enough room.
makes my meter by meter tank look like betta tank
I wanna see some ray keepers and beautiful set ups not breeders with ramped tanks full of rays and pups
Seriously overstocked. These fish would swim for miles in the wild. Never mind sharing such a small space.

60kg lol 😆
I dont understand the hype, its an empty tank, no biotope whatsover..meh
