All rifle ranges are closed due to fire hazard We are experiencing a drought at the moment. Dut I can test it in the Ransom rest if that is interesting?
@@thegunviking Yes. I have shot it and like it. i would like your opinion. It is fairly priced in the US. I find it shoots well. Thanks for the work you do.
That was a VERY interesting test. I have never seen such tight groups with such high probability of a significant variation in velocity/spread/std deviation. Given that Eley says the velocity is such a wide range, I think this is their way of saying they have a manufacturing issue but will still sell this inconsistent ammo I cannot imagine any competition shooters selecting Eley sport
Having bought 2500 rds of Eley sport for a good price, I had high hopes. But I had exactly the same problem. After sorting by weight and rim thickness, the problem was solved. After taking apart the rounds that were too light, I found that some of the rounds had up to 3/10 of a grain, too little powder in them.
Thats a lot in such a small charge. I will be doing some sorting tests later on some of the cartridges that has performed the worst, but for now I'm testing "right out of the shelves" accuracy.
It's a pity that that first shot was off so much. Maybe the slightly higher grade (Club) will be more consistent? Or, as you say, a different lot of the Sport line?
@@tomgiorgini9154 What @jormal4 said. It is said to have a positive effect on the outcome. Just for the fun of it I`ll test if it makes a difference next time I do some shooting in the Ransom.
@@thegunviking I was just trying to figure out what was actually being done by the motion, I have never seen a ransom rest in person, keep up the great videos I appreciate them
Good video. Would like to see another on the Sellier & Bellot Club, shot on a calmer day. Keep up the good work.

@@srPowdercoating Thank you!
Been waiting on this. Thanks!
My pleasure, Sir!
Do a 2nd test but sort them by weight and do one group with 5 that weigh the same.
Good ide'. I'll do that when I'm done with the bulk ammo series.

Sport is probably bad lots of some other line that is «downgraded». I will try to get hold of another lot and do the test again.
Yes. I would like to see you test this ammo again with a different lot.
Will do!
interesting for sure. I've had good luck in that one of my rifles really like eley sport. I haven't seen a lot of flyers but I have had them.
I think this was a very bad lot. I will try another lot and post a new video.

Hi great vid and would like to see you do the same test but in a rifle as I’m very curious thanks
Hi! I will do more rifle tests in the future. Now all rifle ranges are closed due to high fire hazard.
I had similar experience with eley hv. Had ftf on one occasion
For some reason I had more misfires with Eley than most other reputable brands. Go figure.

Yes, it was a shame with that first one. I`ll be testing the complete line of Eley ammo. I already have footage of the Eley Match and Eley Magazine.
why do you tip the rest back after every shot what is being reset
The gun recoils so its gonna be same reset after every shot to make the data accurate
@@Jormal4 thanks

Interesting, guess even Eley can have problems. Might be why sport is cheaper. Maybe a different lot will behave differently.
Yes, I agree. I think I will do another test with more groups.
@@thegunviking can you get another lot number? An interesting comparison could come out of it.
@@jamestboehm6450 Yes, I`ll try to order some.
