ITALIAN TRAINS GUIDE (Standard, Business & Executive) - Trenitalia Frecciarossa - ITALY

  • Trenitalia is the most popular train service in Italy (although, Italo treno isn't far behind). They offer 4 different types of seat classes, Economy (or standard), Premium, Business, and Executive. We will be covering 3 of the 4 given that Economy and Premium are too similar to compare.

    Nice video. I'm planning to visit Italy and travel cities by train. Will it be a problem if I am traveling with a 28" & 20" spinner luggage, along with a backpack? Do all 3 types of train classes have the same luggage storage area? Or is one better than the other?

    • @hellonickitravels187
      @hellonickitravels187  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hello! Traveling with a 28" suitcase and a backpack won't be a problem. There is always space for luggage by the entrance of every class and they also have overhead storage space for backpacks. Just be warned that if you travel in the economy class, you may have a hard time finding space since they're the most crowded trains, so my advice would be to arrive and line-up very early!

    • @531rocky
      @531rocky 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@hellonickitravels187 Thanks for the quick reply! I'm leaning more towards the 1st class train, so I don't worry about luggage space. Is there a website that you recommend for being the easiest to buy tickets?

    • @hellonickitravels187
      @hellonickitravels187  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@531rocky You're welcome! And yes, the official website: trenitalia.com is the most reliable way to get the tickets. I was easily able to buy and print out my tickets from there. And for some extra advice, in my experience the business class was the less crowded because they have around 4 or 5 train cars while the executive only has 1.

      @@MrWalker1000 It depends, usually Italo it's a little bit cheaper and I usually prefer it because offers a refund (partially) even for economy/standard seats. Anyway you should buy your tickets *at least* 1/2 weeks before, you can save around 40/50%! (prices rises up very quickly).

    Horror Story about Frecciarossa 👇🏾
    Took a train to Castel Gandolfo from Roma Termini. There was no announcement on the train and the train doors didn’t open.
    Imagine! It was after 7, my hotel was messaging me that they don’t do check-ins after 7 pm and here I had reached the next train stop.
    The train conductor was casual about it. He told me to travel till the last stop and then take a train back to Castel Gandolfo. Anyway, we trudged up the hill at Albano. Found a taxi and drove back to Castel Gandolfo.
    When I tried to complain on twitter they sent a form to fill, which I have tried to fill and failed. I sent all details with tickets to Freccia twitter account but they won’t investigate.
    Horrible experience. Italo is better and cheaper.
    Italy still has a poor transport system.
