2:28 The Italians probably didn't notice because Italians do not have milky coffees after breakfast time 😀 Having worked in Italy I asked a colleague and was told that milk is regarded as a breakfast item, hence to them a capuccino in the afternoon would be the equivalent of eating cornflakes for lunch.

    • @francescoboselli6033

As an Italian I confirm. Milk for many is consumed just for breakfast

Some might say you are right, but I have seen many Italians themselves (especially old people) going to a Bar/coffee shop for a late afternoon Cappuccino paired with something to eat as a snack

My most amazing train experience was catching the frecciarossa from Florence to Venice, walking out of the station in Venice into the sun shine and being gobsmacked by the view!!!! canal, boats, church, bridge. A mini-screenshot of what you picture Venice to be. Just beautiful & perfect. And so unexpected. I just wasn't expecting to walk out of a train station into that pictorial beauty right there!

Best train ride I had was in Italy about 30 years ago, wooden bench seats, no air con, a slow lumpy ride but I had my Walkman on listening to some a-ha, the windows on the carriage rolled down to a level you could lean out into the warm breeze, smell the countryside and enjoy the views. One of those 'perfect moments' you get only a few times in your life.

So glad you treated yourselves to a comfortable, good food, train ride. It sure made up for all the travel challenges you've had lately. I hope your good travels stay with you. Can't wait for more. The last train ride was cross country. We stopped in NM and had the spiciest, hottest shredded beef at an Indian "Truck" stop. That was exactly 30 years ago.

My best train trip was from Portland Oregon to Glacier National Park in Montana in a sleeper car. Views of the Columbia River until is was too dark to see. Woke up in Montana to snow capped mountains.

I really enjoyed the train trip when I took Frecciarossa from Rome to Naples, Naples to Florence, and Florence to Rome, in Business Silenzio. I bought the tickets early, so it was relatively cheap. And the trip was fast and comfortable. Only one hour from Rome to Naples, sitting on a couch, basically. If you ever travel Finland by train, I would suggest booking a ticket in Intercity train upstairs of the restaurant car.

Beyond Your Doorstep lmao. Train travel in Italy...I don’t think it’s that nice. I had so many problems the last time I was in the country. There was a day that I was with friends going from Rome to right outside Lucca and they had a lot of problems because of strikes, fires too close to the tracks, etc. and we got to the city too late to catch the last train to take us to where we were staying (a good 15-20 minute drive from Lucca). Thankfully one of the workers on the train was willing to drive me and my friends to where we were going though.

    • @c_wanderluster
      @c_wanderluster 4 ปีที่แล้ว

@@markclemente1503 think if you face those problems everyday because you study in different city! And the reasons for cancellation are lame! Once they cancelled my train because they didn't prepare it! And the only thing they do is cleaning, which isn't done properly

I took business class once on Amtrack from San Diego to LA. It didn't cost a lot more, but the main reason I did it was because I had run the San Diego marathon the day before and the regular class didn't guarantee a seat - if I'd had to stand it would have been a problem. Turns out the train was mostly empty and I didn't take advantage of some of the other perks that came with business class (it was a while ago, but I think I could have gotten a free newspaper, and maybe free coffee/tea) but I was sore and stayed in my seat. The seats might have been a bit nicer too but I didn't see the regular seats.

Took a bus (all day and way too hot) from Madrid to Seville. Arrived in Seville late enough to not get a room (it was hosting the 1992 World's Fair) so spent the night in an outdoor park that people used as a toilet. Went directly to the train station and bought the first ticket out of Spain, to Perpignan, France. Unfortunately, that train didn't leave until 8:00 p.m. that night, so had to stay up that entire day too. Got on the train to Perpignan and slept like a BABY in a COMA. BEST TRAIN TRIP EVER! To this day, if I'm tired I ask myself, "Are you SEVILLE to PERPIGNAN tired?" Answer has always been, "Not even close," so far. LOL

2 very good experiences on trains. one was booking the executive salita (I think it was called) on Italo between Rome and Milan. Its a private room with all the service but no neighbors. >Fantastic. The other was a deluxe sleeper on a Euronight train. Had its own shower and bathroom with all the hotel type amenities. Welcome prosecco, and night caps to follow and a comfortable bed! Breakfast the next day with unlimited coffee. Very very nice experience. I live now in Italy and I have decided to never fly again because the trains are so cool.

Train travel is so amazing. Even if you don’t do executive class. That was actually a good gnocchi pronouncing guys! I was at the Termini Station in 1987 and again in 2008. Very much a pick pocket paradise

Travel vlogs (especially trains) are my fave! Looks like Trenitalia is pretty great. My perennial favorite is ÖBB first class! Haven't tried their business class, but it looks amazing.

No, it's not so great! I've traveled a lot with trenitalia, especially regional trains! Even the freccia rossa can have delays, if it snows outside(it happened to me). The regionals can get cancelled for the stupidest thing ever(like once they cancelled the train because they didn't prepare it) and if they get to destination 5 or 10 minutes late, you can say they are on time!
Anyway, just because these to guys had a great experience, it doesn't mean trenitalia is perfect! Believe me it's not! Don't get the wrong idea

@@c_wanderluster Eh, all train companies suffer from delays. I meant, the service level looked really stellar. I'm from America, and our trains are basically nonexistent, so this is a major improvement!

The train trip was interesting as I had travelled from Rome to Venice on the highest grade back in 1994. The experience was not as good as this one. The one thing that I thought detracted here was that the lack of carpeting. My personal best train rides have been the Orient Express but for ordinary travel I have enjoyed Acela on the north east coast of the US which I have used several times, all the way from Washington DC to Boston. Sleeper cars across the US are surprisingly rather poor - in particular for those in sleeper cars travelling first class there is no separate dining or lounge areas. The food was served cheap airline style and really discouraged me and my American husband. It was a splendid way to actually see the country though and to get a real sense of the enormity of the US continent.

These seats are basically the same as in business class in the Railjet (the Austrian ICE). They are among the best I ever have tested out. To recline your seat your have to push it back by using your power. It’s not electric
