    I wish this type of video was available years ago to train all my Filipino teachers of English how to speak it properly without letting their mother tongues and provincial accents get too much in the way of proper pronunciation. I'm sharing your video in the hopes that they'll take the hint and start practicing your techniques at home before appearing in class with their usual "carabao-style" English (that's our local term for their broken or clumsy English teaching and modeling). [carabao = Philippine water buffalo]

    Another one - I wasn't sure whether English people say GONNA like the Americans do. And you do! That's a relief ))

    Hi, Tom! Interesting lesson. Two words off the top of my head that are probably influenced by Chinese are typhoon and tofu, although I am unsure if tofu could also be from Japanese. Another Japanese word that's used in English is tsunami.
    I have a question regarding the usage of the word "klutz": it sounds like a negative word, so when you describe a person as a klutz, does it necessarily sound insulting or you can use it in a humous way? What would be a safe way to use this word without offence? Thank you!

    • @EatSleepDreamEnglish
      @EatSleepDreamEnglish  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Oliver, thanks for the insights. Yeah klutz can definitely be used in a humorous way. I guess the context and way it is said would determine if it was an insult or not. You might say 'a bit of a klutz' to modify the strength of it.
