    Amazing video once again, love the new part about the failure modes and those close-ups of the braid color change and slipping are great visual. It's very true this knot has to be wrapped and cinched correctly to work best.

      Evening Peter, Hope you had a great weekend. Indeed thx for spotting and pointing out my efforts with the update regarding the failure modes and the Braid colour change. Yes definitely, I must be honest when I started testing the knot how I have tied it for the last 30 years it failed on me 50% of the time with braid involved. I had to really chuck it all out the window and find a way of getting this thing not to budge. Mind you in Mono to Mono it barely slips so that put my confidence up a little :). Once I nailed it with that cinching technique I tested it on 240 knots in Braid and Fluoro and it did not budge at all, the curves on the charts showed no movement whatsover, apart form the final fracture. Tigthlines and thx for the feedback.

      @@toitfishing Thank you Warren, yes the weekend was nice, looking forward to warmer weather, not too much fishing where I live until April. I like the way you got it to snug evenly with the steps, that's what it is though, you have to pull tag ends with standing ends on both the main and leader first, then only standing ends. Looking forward to the next one!

    Great video. Still enjoying the Toit knot on almost everything. Please tell me FG knot is next!

      Hi Jason, the FG is definitely on my to do list, I am looking at the Uni to Uni next then hopefully on to the Slim Beauty and the GT Knot. I will keep you posted as an when I get your request underway, a few people have asked for this knot also.
      Glad you are still using the Toit Knot, I think it will take years and years but once people start using that knot I think they will slowly but surely get converted, who knows? My list of Terminal Knots is about 24 knots now so I guess I better crack on. Line to line is less, 13 knots currently.
      Tightlines and Thanks for the Feedback as always.

    Very cool, I've used the Albright a lot and have knot had many issues and I still haven't jumped onboard the FG , this video confirms I may never need to.

      Hi James, yes the Albright cinched correctly on smaller diameter lines is really really good. Its one of very few knots without in major crossing over or lines getting twisted within the knot. Thanks for you support, Tightlines.

      I thought the same thing until I started fishing 80-100 lb shock leaders on 65 lb braid. That's where the slim beauty and FG pay off.

    Great video mate, exactly what I was looking for on UTube!

    • @toitfishing
      @toitfishing  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Fidian, glad you enjoyed it thx for support. The Albright really is a remarkable knot and so strong on thinner lines. Especially when cinched up correctly, as I showed in the video. Tightlines.

    Great, great tests! I love the data! Ok now let’s do us finesse fisherman in the states….8 and 10lb braid to 4, 6 and 8 lb flouro!! I find it difficult to tie as the line is very weak. Go over more of the tag end trimming as lots of us cast these through the guides! Thanks!

    Hey, great video, as always. A thought for an episode... explanations about the proper way to tighten each knot (or type of knot?). For instance, the following knots should be tightened just by pulling the standing line.... Or, the following knots should be tightened by pulling tag..... Etc. Etc. Thanks for all the info on knot construction.

      I actually have a script ready just for this, it will be a WSFK episode as it will be Hand Tightened knots vs tools (Round Nose pliers and a rubber bar). Its incredible how much it matters. Tightlines

    What is the difference between the Albright and the Alberto?

  • @BobbyOfEarth
    @BobbyOfEarth ปีที่แล้ว

    There's not much dependability in the knot name. I think it comes down to what knot we can routinely tie the best. At 91% of line test, it's the Alberto knot for me.
