シミオナート、ゴッピ、タリアヴィーニ、トゥッチ、デル・モナコ、テバルディ、ブロッティ、バスティアニーニ、スコット、ベルゴンティ、コッソット、クラウス、パバロッティ、カレーラス、ドミンゴ、ギャロフなど。
NHKもたまには放送してもらいたいな。
白黒のモノクロも時代を感じ良いものです。

Whoa.. Bergonzi at 49 in this production showcasing that power. Great cast and what a fantastic copy of this 1973 classic!! There are some vids from the 1990’s and even 2000’s that do not have this quality.

@opera revenger perhaps she was slightly more secure in Hamburg with Corelli in the 4th act in 1971 but...man! She is FANTASTIC still!

Bergonzi has a such a beautiful Voice . Not to forget Florenza Cosotto a great artist and all the cast îs having a great performance under the masterfull conduct .

A very interesting production, for the time, with sets by Pier Luigi Pizzi.
When I was 10 years old and just getting into Opera I purchased a book that came from the Metropolitan Opera probably around 30 years previously. It was perfect and written for children and I remember the book mentioning the great Aria Celeste Aida. Then I borrowed from the library a recording of Aida with Carlo Bergonzi. Since then I've never heard the Aria sung more beautifully then Carlo bergonzi did. Again he does it here.thanks

I came across this wonderful performance this month. Not having heard about Santunione, I looked her up and learned that she recently passed. RIP

Nadie se acordó de Aida lamentablemente, después del espectáculo que Cossoto dio como Amneris. Aplaudí yo solo después de ver esa magnífica interpretación.

Yes, good cast and production, but let's also hear it for the magnificent conducting of Oliviero de Fabritiis! Repeat after me: OLIVIERO DE FABRITIIS. Once more: OLIVIERO DE FABRITIIS! There would be no performance of thus without him. Oh yes, his name is OLIVIERO DE FABRITIIS. Cantus5: this is not aimed at you, as you rightly identified the conductor; it is aimed at the ignoranti making comments here.
No two ways about it: Bergonzi is the greatest Italian tenor of all time in the annals of classical music. However, it should be noted that the youthful bloom in the voice, so prominent from the late fifties to the mid-sixties, was all but gone on this occasion. It stands to reason that the grand master had taken on much too much roles too heavy for his basically lyrical voice, and by 1973, it took its toll.
Verzeihung: Bergonzi ist der größte italienische Tenor aller Zeiten? In welchem Fach, bitte? Weder im Lyrischen (Luigi Alva) noch im Zwischenfach (Mario Lanza) und schon gar nicht im Spintofach (Franco Corelli) und als "tenore dramatico" (Mario del Monaco). Worin also?

Forgot to mention, Cossotto would never be my first choice in this role. Acting is great. What a ham! But was always missing that rich mezzo sound for this role. Going back to Mignon Dunn with that great lower register. But hands down my favorite Amneris is Stefania Toczyska!

I WAS LUCKY TO SEE HER OFTEN AT THE LICEO BARCELONA IN THE MID 80'S...SHE SANG AMNERIS AND THE PRINCESS IN ADRIANNA...I SAW HER AT LEAST 4 TIMES AS AMNERIS...SHE WAS EVERY BIT AS GREAT AS HERE.....HOW ANYONE CAN MISTAKE HER TONE AS ANYTHING OTHER THAN A CLASSIC MEZZO SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE TO ME!
INTHE 80'S EVEN WITH THE ODD PITCH PROBLEMS SHE DROWNED OUT ORCHESTRA CHORUS AND OTHER SOLOISTS IN THE TRIUMPHAL SCENE...HER B FLATS WERE COLLOSAL...AND ALL DONE WITH A BIG SMILE.
ON THE LAST EVENING THEY UNFURLED A VAST POSTER OF HER FROM THE GODS AND SHE WAS PRESENTED THE LICEO GOLD MEDAL ON STAGE IN FRONT OF A DELIRIOUS AUDIENCE.....SHE GESTILATED TO US ....LIKE A BOXER....SO SAID JUAN ONCINA MY SINGING TEACHER.!!
