This is how they set the wigs for the Schuyler Sisters, in Hamilton! Every time l went by the wig room, at least one person was braiding hair...l started to wonder if doing a chain stitch with a crochet hook might be faster, but they're very set in their ways...

gorgeous! I just finished doing this to a 45" wig and a set of wefts and letmetellyou the hand cramps lasted for DAYS. Next time I think compression gloves might actually be a good idea ow. If the wig is long enough and the braids are small enough you honestly dont need to tie the ends with bands the braids will stay. I do this a lot when i have to do wig surgery and manage mass amounts of wefts and loose hair. I love your tutorials so much

I'm going to use this method for my wig for my junko cosplay
You can also achieve similar results by pressing the braids with a flat iron 👍🏼

I like to do this to my old wigs that get ruined over time from all the styling and brushing. I never tried boiling tho, I usually just pin the braids to the top of the head and then throw a bag over and steam it haha. But now I have a new style I can put it in after I take out the braids

I am a huge fan of plaits to get crimps but I honestly feel like (I can't believe I am going to say this) it wiould have turned out better and been so much quicker if you used a crimping iron. normally i would never say that i see people using crimpers and think why not just plait it but this one here probably could have used a crimper. LOVE your videos x

cautionary tip to whoever is following this video: depending on the hairstyle you're going for, actually pay attention to the direction that you pull the hair to braid because it will set that way. they should all be going the same way depending the style. the front hair of this wig set downwards which is not ideal.

This reminded me the only and very first time I did drag. It was for the 2015 gay pride parade in Caracas (the capital city of my country), I wanted to be a bearded drag queen but I have only a few random hairs on my face. I bought two cheap wigs, bradided, boiled and then teased. I cut some hair strings and then glued to my face using liquid silicone glue for scholar projects. I love this. But has a Blac woman, I worth their bushy “crimped” style was not called crimp. This is how most of our natural hair look we blow it out, without going back over it with a flat iron. This texture is called “kinky straight” not “crimped” crimped hair is more defined.
