More curl troubleshooting: If your curls aren't getting curled as tight as u want (e.g. Base of hair isn't curled or isn't curly enough) u may be using too much hair per roller. A rule I tend to use on factory wigs is to take sections 3-4 wefts tall, and only as wide as the roller (I usually use a little less than the full width of the roller). That formula allows me to get really even curls throughout the wig.
Lol I only needed to learn how to curl a wig without using a curler, but now im watching all these videos that I don't need to know about because you're SO GOOD!
in hair rooms here on Broadway, typically if we are steaming individual rollers in a steam set, the hold time with steamer on each is about a count of 10 seconds and then move onto the next. this is a general guide and yes, sometimes you have to go back and hit them again if needed before drying them on a low heat in a wig oven. thanks for another tutorial, you really deliver! 👏👏👏
You make it look so easy! Your tutorial was my inspiration to persevere with my first time wig styling... Marie Antoinette! It may have taken me over a week to get there and a bazillion views for your tutorial but meeps!! It worked!! You’re the best!!
Wow!!!!!!!! I can't believe how much volume you got by teasing!! It's incredible!! I love how you didn't tease the front part of the wig so you could pull that over the teased part for a smooth finish!! Absolutely amazing!! 🌺🌸🌷
People generally use a prosthetic rather than teasing the actual hair to get more wear out of their wig or to not damage their own hair. Anytime you tease your hair you are prone to damage, especially teasing it that drastically. Looks great but anywhere you can cheat your way through is ALWAYS a good idea. Ladies that are watching, you will have a very hard long time with your hair afterwards if you are trying this on your natural hair! Spend more now so you can spend less later. IT IS WORTH IT!
I domt thin anyone even in 18 century really did this to their hair😂 that a lot of effort to ruin your hair in one go without even getting it neon pink
Best Marie Antoinette wig video ever! (I know because I've seen them all). It just so happens that I both own a lot of wigs and my middle name is Marie Antoinette, so I've been wanting to do a decent M.A. look forever.
Backstory and then a question...…….Just happened upon your video while looking up something else, and you did a fantastic job! As I'm a professional pirate (yup I get paid to be a pirate - adulting deff does NOT sux!) and I'm also part of a Tampa Bay Florida Gasparilla ParadePirate Krewe where it's key to keeping ones look "period correct", which means the time frame falls into the Marie Antoinette era! One of the looks I'm known for is my "Marie Antoinette Goes Rogue Pirate" look (AKA The Frenchie Pirate). The hair is always a challenge!! I've used so many different methods to get the height required, and this by far, is the simplest and easiest AND LIGHTEST that I've seen! I have a photo shoot coming up in a month, and I am most definitely saving this vid so I can reference back to try this method!!! Now to my question: How well did this hold up for you? Meaning, how long was it worn for, under what conditions was it worn, and did the height maintain itself? Thanks and again, great job! Love the finished modern take on her timeless style!
Those giant updos are no joke! I applaud all the embellishments, it looks fantastic like that. I tried making like an oversized Peggy Bundy wig in that kind of way had trouble with the sides as well. I'll probably lay tracks over the bump next time I do something like that to get all the coverage. And then I think about Farrah Moan's reunion hair. HOW SHE DO IT THOUGH?! lol
I have been binge watching your channel whilst being sick in bed for the last few days and I’m obsessed, I’m a baby queen and your videos have helped me so much so thank you for all the hard work you put in to making these 🌈🌈🌈🌈
THAT WAS SO AMAZING AND YOUR MAKEUP LOOKS STUNNING! I watched so many videos tonight and yours was by far the best, now I need to look at your other videos💙
JD Tobias yeah, 18th century wigs were usually filled with bugs and lice, where women had to carry around head scratchers because their heads itched so much, so this wig was definitely better 😂
Will Greigh those weren't wigs! Only men and women who got bald from syhpilis wore wigs. That usually was real hair teased with hair pieces incorporated! So they coulnd't take the thing off, they did their hair once in several days and slept sitting to not ruin their lice nest.
Just discovered your channel !! and i just LOVE it! I will follow your instructions to do the same haircut to my pink lacefront wig. Can't wait to see other vids from you !!
I LOVE IT SO SO MUCH!! I would love to see an update after wearing it out of you wish you had added a rat or a foam core for added height and stability. Only because that is a lot of hair and then flowers and pearls and I wonder if the style will hold up under that weight long term.
I think it would hold up a lot better if I used better pins but mine were kinda crappy hahaha. But regardless this is definitely not a hairstyle suited for dancing and moving around a lot!
Thank you for making this tutorial! I love how it turned out. You look very lovely with the makeup & finished wig. I needed to know how to make a Marie Antoinette wig for a doll. Now I know how to style it. 💕
You are AMAZING! I really love this video and the intro on your channel; so creative!! You explained it so well, now I'm sure I can try this at home. Can't wait!!
Thank you so much for this video. I’ve just completed my wig for a drag party this weekend. Wish I could send a pic. It’s not as amazing as yours but it’s come out fantastic. Much love.
First of your videos that I’ve seen and you are amazingly talented and adorable. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. I am going to try this for a costume this year. Very helpful!!
I hope youre doing well! I notice this was posted 6 yrs ago (its November 2023 now). How did you secure the flowers? Thank you, you are a great teacher.
I love ya videos and you are awesome, but when you was teasing the hair I suddenly had a craving for fairy floss! Have you done the makeup video yet? It's super beautiful 🌺
I love your finished look! You look so beautiful, kind of like a mermaid inspired Marie Antoinette 😍. Great tutorial btw. I love hair so I enjoyed this whole video.
you're inspiring me to wear more makeup and slay away. thank you for sharing your knowledge and beauty with all of us. If ever in Costa Rica call me and we'll party! lots of love from here
other than the color this desin would have been greatly appreciated by the french court. this is a very authentic look, the silhouette and volume and curls are perfect and very close to being true to period, apart from them being blue. amazing work!
Thats a great vid on 18th century wig so good im going to give it a go i ve made lots of costumes my 18th century one ive worn to venice so making a coloured wig would be fun
I suggest you to use a little cage underneath the top section (=montasù) (as well as was in XVIII sec.). this cage can be made in ligth wired and fixed up to the wig foundation. The surface of the MONTASU' should be more interesting if it is curly (brushed out to unlock the curls). The end of frontal-section hair could be fixed more easily to the cage instead of backcombed hair. Some others martonnes (the side rolls) could hide the junction of the back section put up and the frontal MONTASU'.
"i've never done this hairstyle before"
*slays my entire existence anyways*
Bitch just snatched my hair piece, raised it, gave it a job, did its taxes, and laid it to rest. This is EVERYTHING!
THANKS!! XOXO
catty but me likes

Skin: finally cleared
Thomas Doran YASSSSSSSS
I never realized how much I wanted to see this wig styling video.
