Is there a right way to drag? Some queens contour harsher than others and over draw their lips more... Doesn't mean it's something you shouldn't do... I have a feeling this video just implies lack of polish and lackluster technique is a don't.

Her makeup, while impressive and striking, is hard to fit onto my face. Look to queens that have your features, as my face would better fit styles that suit violet chachki or blair st. clair! The most important part of drag is that you are happy with how you look and aren't worrying about what everyone else thinks!

The Don't side is like: Basically don't even try. They didn't even try to make it decent or realistic, just threw eyeliner and shadow and a ton of contour and said: Don't do that
I think the way she puts her makeup on the DONT is like about technique and application. On the Do part she applies makeup in a way it lasts and perfects. Also gluing her hairline helps on applying different wigs so yes those things are beauty hacks and the video is very didactic for me! Its just a format!

This is a good Do's and Don'ts for specifically those who are going for very femme/glamour styles, but the Don'ts side still stands out as a more well executed exaggerated style that would be great for comedic/avante garde drag performers. It's ok to prefer one style over the other, but there's this myth becoming popularised that drag is just about being a man dressed as a pretty and convincing woman when there's really far more to it than that.

This is a good beauty style two-face makeup instead of one side being normal and the other burned and scared on side is down well the other is done meh.
I'm not a fan that the don't side doesn't have colored contacts while the do side does. Not everyone can support those after all. Also, it's pretty bad to put them on after the make up. You could get some product in and you risk an infection.

And it all depends on your style, whether you're on stage or just going out, and even whether you'll be seen in person vs. photos & video...

Actual step 1: be a twink with soft facial features. Be real. For people with stronger features the more subtle make-up oftentimes just won’t work. Edit: not trying to criticise the person in the video, they obviously know what works for them 🫶
The “Don’t” side has an innocent look to it. Maybe because of the lack of contact lens but it has its own beauty to it.
