Speaking for myself. I never had and/or seen the ALICE clips fail and pouches come off. To qualify that, I was in Marine Corps infantry. So we were putting the ALICE gear through the paces. I'm sure it must have happened somewhere. I'm just commenting because I don't want anyone watching to think that the ALICE system isn't worth having. The thing I saw the most was Marines loosing canteens from the ALICE pouch, during courses where we were low crawling. So we dummy corded them on to our gear, as to not loose them.

Wow, I did not know about the patent issue and the reason why some companies do not have the MOLLE snapping straps. Very good information!

    Very informative thanks.
I have Alice clips on my water bottle pouch and wondered how they came about. You answered that perfectly.
My pouch has a soft-lined inner, with drainage hole. Just found out today why too. Designed for jungle / hot areas so the pouch could be dipped in water, the bottle inserted and the water inside would stay cooler longer and drained out over time.
I expect you knew that already!
    Thanks again.

Great vid. I was wondering lately about what the hell a MALICE clip did! Thanks!

    Very nice.
Anybody looking to find out what the acronyms associated with each system stand for or how each system operates at the basic level would do well to watch this video. Nicely done.

Nice video. I've been hunting around trying to put a name to the ALICE clips I'm familiar with, seeing that the "newer" stuff is MOLLE. I have a US canteen with the old Alice clips. Thanks for helping out, you've answered my question

How do you attach the wire loop hanger,(M1910), to the pistol belt?

What type of setup do you have to attach your knife to your pals? I was thinking of mounting my m-7 bayonet to my load carrying vest with its original scabbard?

Molle is shit. One time I was in the field using molle pouches and the stud broke. My friend gave me a zip tie and when I got home the first thing I did was buy an icicle clip.
