Great way to pass the time. I cried when my son went to college..... I lost the mowing, the wood stacking, trash, recycle bin....all of it. Enjoy your time working together, it will go by fast. I usually stack alone. It's pure drudgery in my book. 2 seasons ago I had a high schooler who I paid to stack, it was bliss, my time was better used cutting and splitting up large piles. My current method has developed out of laziness and procrastination.....and finding a large tarp that belonged to my dad. Split the wood into a big pile on top of some pallets to keep it off the ground. Tarp it during rainy/snowy periods. Then, Finally, get enough gumption to stack the pile. Last pile was 3-4 full cords. Two sessions, over two days and it was stacked. My wood yard area is similar to the Back40 set-up. A loop around the area, and not a ton of open space, therefore, eventually, because of space constraints, it has got to be stacked. If there's wood to be cut and split.....you'll find me doing that.....I can stack when all the wood is split and I'm waiting on the next tree or wood delivery.
Very nice this father and son game! It's so recognisable, if you're doing it on your own it goes twice as fast - doing it your way with LBM, it's more than twice the fun. Win/win. In W-Europe we have some kind of Indian Summer, temperatures during the day are up to 24C / 77F and relatively mild nights. Days are becoming shorter rapidly but burning season isn't probably to start before October. The wood supply is ready for it and we are looking forward to light the fireplace up as well. Take care Dan & co!
It was 86 yesterday and 85 today here...not a fan of this late summer heat...lol. Yeah it may have taken a little longer to empty the trailer, but was worth it to 'play' along and get something done. 😀
We had the same game when my brothers and I were kids, except it was with hay bales. You could get between 130-140 square bales off a New Holland kicker baler into a wagon. The one that "lost" had to load the elevator for the rest of the wagon.
Ohh that'd be fun to try with the hay wagon...lol...when I grew up on the farm we stacked the bales right off the baler onto the wagon...didn't have a kicker, but I can imagine what that would've been like. 😀
@@Back40Firewood if you were the youngest (me) and the pile got hung up, you got sent to the top to start kicking Bale's down. Inevitably the pile would collapse and you'd come down with 🤣
Nice Going Dan, and Little Boss Man. Making a game out of Stacking. For me its a One man job. That is if my Wife wants to Stack which She is excellent at. For Me its Stack it and watch it Fall over lol. Ron from the Woodyard in Duanesburg NY.
I get my grandsons to help me split. It's not too common to get them to stack or move the wood, unless I let them drive a tractor to get things done. I stack into IBC totes so I can move the wood around and not touch it until burn time. They will help, if I get them their own totes, but that requires a much bigger pile of wood to stack. It's the best when you get the younger generation to get involved! Have Fun, and be COOL!
Get your son a pair of glasses to put up on his head putting his hair back. I’m 27 and it’s taken me a couple years to grow It out long , ladies dig it, but if I don’t pal-made and comb it back, it pisses me off bad when it gets into my face. Your boy doing the head swing thing to get the hair out of his face, is damaging his brain over time. Maybe it’s not, maybe it’s a false observation , but regardless, boy needs hair out of his face it might make him not have dementia as a old man.

Love it!!
From one father to another,,, I can say that you can never spend too much time with your kids. These years tick by fast!
He will remember this when he is grown and moved out.
Creating great childhood memories!😊
And then hopefully he'll remember to come back home once and awhile....and that I'll remember who I am when he does...lol
I like stacking..it's a finalizing thing for me. Like job done ✔️
And the pile, comes tumblin down, rummblein tumblin, rummblein tumblin...down yeah,yeah,yeah... STAY COOL BROTHER...PEACE...
Dan,most definitely 👍 work in the wood yard sometimes should be fun it makes stacking quicker 😮😊❤
Back from vacation, next up is Paul Bunyan! Firewood Jenga seems like a pretty cool game LBM came up with!!
A good lesson learned. Lil boss man gets the work done and has fun doing it. Dividends for the rest of his days.
Great father & son bonding time....Pete

Good job taking a not so fun task and adding a little fun to it. It’s also nice to get to spend some time with the little boss man as well.
hi there you can never loose when spending good/fun time with your children . not quite sure witch year is that for . good show best to all john
Wonderful!
Bro,…you’re playing Jenga with a pile of splits,😂.
Great idea, Lil Boss Man had!! Makes stacking with help fu!! Stay Hydrated and Have a Safe Day
When he first wanted to try I didn't think it'd work, was surprised how many pieces came out before it tipped.
Bata Boom! 👏🏻👍🇺🇸
Family fun time is most important here. As a bonus, no carports were harmed. And you didn't say BW once lol.
Bill
Little boss man is now medium boss man. Soon to be big boss man
Hahaha...yeah he's getting close to 'medium' boss man that's for sure!

Good game! I'm going to invite some of my adult friends over to play Man Jinga!
Yes invite the friends over, explain the game, then sit back and let them 'play'....hahaha

If I had more totes I'd do the same to move the wood around. Definitely is fun having the young ones involved.
Hi Dan I think your Next Game should be Who Can Start The Friday Night Fire 🔥 Pit Challenge live 😅 The Fastest 🤩👍
Yes Dan stacking wood sucks ! I now put the tractor in front of the 28c and push it into the bucket and then just pile it .
👍👍👍 Chip
Have you talked to Joe about not liking stacking?
Nah....I actually don't mind it that much as long as I can take my time and it doesn't need to be done right away...lol
Firewood Jenga. LOL The money that LBM has earned splitting mini firewood, does he tend to be a saver or spender?
He's been doing a little of each, but mostly saving cuz I direct deposit to an account I set up for him.
Can I help ?
I don’t stack ever.
Why burn the little piece? Sell or give away to people who buy a lot from you
