👑👑👑 I'm in the midst of releasing my dream miniature brush as well as some wonderfully sculpted miniature busts mid June 2020. It's something I'm really proud of and been working on for the better part of the last year. You can already pre register your interest on my Kickstarter page: bit.ly/3dKjmnz 👑👑👑
first ork i painted was given to me when i was 14 by a friend in highschool , i didnt do very well atttempting it with my aircraft paints and gave up. Thanks to videos like this ive found a love for the hobby and went in hard over the last year.!!!!
I am painting an Ork for a local competition. Feedback from my friends said put more contrast on the face.....then I found this video. Amazing work sir, I am now applying your concepts to my mini and the result is great. Thank you sir
Working hard on finishing more Space Marine and Stormcast videos with and without contrast paints! Are there any other hobby videos you would like to see as well, none painting related?
Thank you on the tutorial , you are a pro! I also love the new style gw orc models, but I'm saving a squad for mag'har orc painted skin, like red brown orcs on world of warcraft. Also I'm giving them hair and beards, not a fan of bald..
Would like to see how you decolorize an old miniature (got a bunch of minis, where i fucked up the painting) to give it a new chance Anyways, love your videos! Keep up the good work, greetings from germany
Squidmar Miniatures well 40k, but I’m starting off with setting up a kill team. Just got back into the hobby and finished my BA KT, kinda felt that I needed to paint something completely different and who doesn’t love orks? Really looking forward to your upcoming videos on orks, I’ll wait with painting antything big till they’re all out ;) love the lighter Colour scheme for the skin btw!
I really like the idea of the "orc freckles." That can add a lot of character to individual models. I've never painted an orc army before, but this is making me want to give it a try. Thanks for the video!
Glad you like it! I totally agree, i love doing pigment free freckles as well(sort of like vitiligo), giving it pink skin on certain areas. Works really well on darker skin!
Loving this video aswell as the orc skin tutorial! I would really like for you to make a leather tutorial! Maybe some texture details and doing leathers of different tints??? Keep it going! New fan!
I find your lack of meatballs disturbing. That said I enjoy your no-nonsense, to the point approach vids with this high production level quite nice and refreshing. There is deffo room for you too. You've been added to the collection. Skål.
Wouldnt the skin be brown at the thin parts if they have red blood and green skin so wouldnt a bown tone work good, i have been using a pink and just glazing green over it to get a muted green pink
Hi Emil, Been watching your channel a lot lately and LOVE your work. Quick question on this guy/orks in general. How are you painting the tongue? I'd hate to go through all this work making the face perfect, and then have a ugly tongue! Thanks a ton :)
Hello, I really want to try this wetblending you speak of. Any other tips for giving it a try? How long are you playing with it until you leave it to dry? It doesn’t look like your diluting with water at all, is this correct?
i try to not dilute it too much, it gets naturally diluted on the wet pallet - almost a bit too much for me. I prefer the "one thick coat" but more controlled.
Let me start by stating I'm a real fan of your vids. They are short and straight to the point and your terrain is absolutely awesome! Sadly, this one was a bit of a dissapointment though. No doubt this is pro level, I just don't like the end result. The face looks clowny, the blends are not that smooth and to me, the body looks like it's highlighted... well, wrong? Everyone has their own style ofc, but this looks either cartoony or as if the orc has some terrible eyeinfection. I would love to see a part 2 where you try a more subtle and natural approach to the skin. Sorry for being a killjoy, and thx for posting!
Hey mate, no shame in that, we all have different personal preferences - and that's why golden demon is filled with miniature in 100s of different painting styles. Glad you like the vids :)
camera focussed better on your hands than on the head piece. makes it hard to watch what's happening! sick tips and loads of witchcraft made possible for me as a newb painter!
This video made me want to throw out my own Ironjawz and start all over... Also, I would love to see a tutorial on brown ork skin like the Mag'har from world of warcraft
haha mate, don't do it. In a few months there will be new models! :D Yeah i've been thinking about that. Its probably quite a bit in the future though. Green Skin video dropping later this week!
Fuck the Ork skin, give us a video of those bones! They look awesome! While I understand the basic technique, I'd like to see how you did it nonetheless.
I must say that this video is weird. You’ve shown us your way of painting this not missing out on anything and that’s cool! But... you seem to not know your audience. It appears you’re talking to beginners and yet you spend no time going into the intricacies of wet-blending and you decide to add an iris and a pupil as if it’s the most natural thing in the world without explaining at least how you overcome the usual jitters or picking this out as something unnecessary or even unfeasible for most of us . I think you need to decide who you want to talk to and then storytell. Other than that keep up with the videos. Same as painting; it’s a process.
Thank you for the feedback, I try to create the content I'd like to watch, but theres lots of channels out there for all kinds of people, maybe some of these would be right for you. I'm sure you'll find the perfect one for you.
Squidmar Miniatures i wouldn’t go that far and say that I won’t watch your channel or that I need to find another one. I watch everything that I may find helpful and for me personally your channel is just that. Besides you are a likeable person with a comfortable voice (is that a thing? :) ) to listen to while painting. I just felt a discrepancy today and thought it might be helpful to you and your vids. Apologies if my comment felt too harsh. It wasn’t my intention. Perhaps it’s all the missing sleep due to my new daughter.

This is a really great tutorial, thanks Emil! The head looks great, I think you've inspired me to pull out my orcs again :-)
heheh YES!!! pull out those greenskin armies Goober! even its like a year ago. get more of those in there!
Working hard on finishing more Space Marine and Stormcast videos with and without contrast paints! Are there any other hobby videos you would like to see as well, none painting related?
I would really like to see your process for 3D printing and prepping terrain pieces.
Brick walls, any ideas on a realistic way to build them?

A sylvaneth cherry blossom Look Guide will be nice, Never find a good one
Orcs and Orkz have always had a spot in my heart, they are just so lovably dumb and brutal :)
I just want to say thanks so much! My miniature painting has become better by leaps and bounds since I found your channel. You’re the boss!
holy crap, the black micron pen for the pupil is a game changer, genius!
I KNOW! :D
Just got home from the store buying my first box of orks, and this is the first yt-video that pops up. Coinsidence? I think not. Fate is what it is.
We all need some orks in our lives

Totally agree! Pallet cleansers are important! Send me some pics when you've tried out the stuff :)
Squidmar Miniatures Might do, if they’re anything worth looking at :P

It certainly makes the ork more... fungi-like lol
Think I'm ready for the new challenge of painting orcs! Love your videos they have been super inspiring on my reintroduction to miniture painting.
Old now but just found this now I'm painting my first ork. Another great vid
Best Ork skin I’ve seen- well done
Really really good. Great stuff. More please!
Awesome inspiration!😊
How about a tutorial on how you painted that amazing looking armor?! So good!
Loving this video aswell as the orc skin tutorial! I would really like for you to make a leather tutorial! Maybe some texture details and doing leathers of different tints??? Keep it going! New fan!
Great video, thank you! I would like to see next how you paint Space Wolves using contrast :)
It will come! Vids are taking some time to produce, but i'm doing them as fast as i can! :)
Loving the vids man keep it up! Would love to see you paint some lizardmen!
A terradon would be epic to paint! Or the dread saurian! Man i need to get some benefactor to pitch in for a dread saurian haha :D
the freckles are a bit wasted when you glued it together... big neck guard covering them up.
I find your lack of meatballs disturbing. That said I enjoy your no-nonsense, to the point approach vids with this high production level quite nice and refreshing. There is deffo room for you too. You've been added to the collection. Skål.
Cheers mate! :) I'll do my best to include more Köttbullar in the videos!

What colours did you use on the teeth after the rhinox? Ushabti and an ivory/white?

have u ever used biel tan green over ligh yellow? would that work similar to a contrast paint?
amazing tiny little detail you have done...😮😮😊
Dude!! Great job!!
Hi Emil - when you put/prepare paints for your wet palette, do you thin them down or does the wet palette kind automatically thin them for you?
Is there a reason he paints the ork head on its own and not as part of the whole mini? Or is it just personal preference?

Hello! If I may ask, what did you use to create the glowing green on the...sticks?...that he's holding?
Its just white as base and Vallejo Flourescent Green
@@SquidmarMiniatures Neat! I really need to look into the Vallejo line more. Thank you for the response!
Skulle du kunna göra en liten film på hur du gjorde drakskallen på megabossen?
Love all of your videos! I am curious as to what you are using for your wet pallet? Is that a cookie sheet?
It's regdrass games everlasting wet pallette. Will make some wet pallet vids in the future
@@SquidmarMiniatures awesome, I think I will order one. I am really looking forward to that NMM stormcast video!
Was this Warchanter converted at all? The ones I see don’t have a bare chest.
Yeah i just removed the chest plate
