- Adventures With Purpose takes us on a search for the missing couple, Danielle Imbo and Richard Petrone Jr. The couple disappeared in February of 2005 after leaving a bar on South Street in Philidelphia.
Their friends reported that Richard had parked nearby and they were leaving to go to his home in Ardmore, which is about 15 minutes away. But they never made it, and his truck with license plate number YFH-2319 has not been seen since.

CASE DETAILS:
The team's search is emotionally charged, as they believe that Danielle and Richard could be directly below them as they dive deep into the Deleware River. The search becomes increasingly intense as the team discovers multiple vehicle submerged in the water. However, upon closer inspection, they discover it is not the couple's truck.
Despite not finding the truck, the team remains hopeful that they are getting closer to discovering the truth behind the couple's disappearance. The team meets with the FBI, who confirm that the theories they are working on are plausible.
Throughout the video, Adventures With Purpose presents an intriguing and compelling narrative of the events leading up to Danielle and Richard's disappearance. Their thorough search and experience while diving deep into the water keep viewers engaged and invested in the search for the missing couple. My father owned an auto junkyard in West Philly.
Camden Iron Yard shredded all our cars, 6 at a time into little pieces of metal and recycled them for 40 years.

That picture of Richard and Danielle is such a happy one, they look so much in love. I also think about their children, it's heartbreaking that they lost their parents and that they know nothing about how what happened to them.

I never believe a woman that says she is raped unless there is visible wounds, forensics, police investigation,etc (and I am a woman!). One of the horrible murder cases in Brazil happened because the girl convinced her boyfriend to kill her parents and the “trigger” for the boy was when she told him her father raped her. In the end, when he gave his statement in court about the rape, she said she never said such thing about her father 🤷♀️. Doug should have waited for a final result in the case to make his mind of what path he wanted to go about something that happened 30 years ago and may not be the way it was presented 🤷♀️

Danielle is my sister in laws cousin! I still hope and pray everyday they find out what happen. I remember the day this happen
17 years.... I just cannot imagine...especially for their children 😔 it's just heartbreaking.
It's actually a real serious problem in many places, with how shore lines are changed or moved out. I know around here, if they demolish stuff, they usually throw it into the water and pile on sand and dirt and extend the shoreline, so if a car was there, they will literally never be found. With all the machinery we have in todays world, so much can change in 17 years.
I beg to differ... these men and women have succeeded where no one else can!

I first watched this case on disappeared. They just went on a date, then poof, they disappeared.

I sent a message months ago in reference to this case when it first happened, I helped out with searching for them. And I used to have dreams that the truck was wedged up against pylons, right where the duck boats used to enter the Delaware river under the bridge right off of Delaware Avenue. There is a boat ramp there. Not sure if you guys have scanned that area but instead of going over the bridge they could have come off and drove directly into the water with hardly anyone ever seeing them in that location.

You guys should get an underwater camera on a line that you can drop down into the water and possibly see what's down there before you dive. I was watching "The Curse of Oak Island " and the dropped a cam down a shaft full of water. So I know it exists.
I would check the Schuylkill River at the boat house row section near the waterfall.
If they went back to Ardmore maybe they stopped there to mess around.
It’s a cool spot with plenty of ways for vehicles to go in the drink easy.
Plus that Ardmore is about 10 mins from there.
It’s the section of the river where all the HS Crew teams row and compete.
We have a window breaker velcro'd next to the back windows of our cars and another near the radio. That way in a stressful moment ....its right there! The chance of forgetting about it in a panic is much less.
As always it is not searched until AWP searches it. There could be the dive captain may be involved not saying he is but if AWP doesn't check the vehicles there not checked. Look for instance at Pittsburgh the dive team didn't know half those vehicles were there. That's why it's important that AWP check these vehicles out to say they are clear
Remember that red truck that most thought wasn't a truck and Nick said he wasnt sure so y'all went and looked and it was the missing guy and his truck
The very end of the video where it showed new apartment buildings and even those under construction, that really has a very oppressive feeling, and I don't just mean the cars dumped in the water. I think a lot more has been dumped in those landfills at one time. It just gives me the creeps.
I know you probably already know this, but you can find old aerial veiw images of cities in most libraries or online. I use them for metal detecting, and its helped me find a lot of old spots I didn't know of. I think for this it could be very useful.

Freezing temperatures equals frozen waterways. An aerial - satellite image at the time of disappearance might show a trail of broken ice at the point entry, if they went in the water.
I hope they find the car and bring closure and answers to the families as to what happened to them.

Seeing the ships at the docks reminds me of the episode where the car that was being searched for had apparently gone off the dock and was consequently runover and damaged by ships.

Yes the car had been flattened by freighters or larger boats. I remember them coming to Michigan to help her family find her. Yes definitely knew she was in Lake St Clair in Marine City . Michigan born raised and staying here for life. Rest in Peace Ms Nadine

Oh get out! I remember when this happened. They were leaving a bar on South Street and then never heard from again. I could swear I thought I read that city couldn’t find them in the river but that’s always been my feeling that they’re there. Hope the families get closure one day.

I live in Moorestown NJ and this case has always intrigued me. I had actually looked and walked around Strawbridge lake to see if there was any indication that a car went into it. I remember when you came to Mount Laurel not too long ago to search a lake near her home as well.

If your ever in northwest Washington and on a break or need to search for sonar practice or something Lake Quinault (quin-alt) is a beautiful lake. Not sure if any cars are still in it but I know a bunch have gone in and some of them were recovered.

I don’t know what it is about this case, but for some reason it touched me like no other “missing persons” or “cold” cases have. It was covered in one of the myriad TV programs dedicated to unsolved cases that I’m obsessed with, about 10 years ago. Since then I’ve seen it covered several times by other programs as well, and each time it drew me into the mystery even more. They just seemed like genuinely good people, and my heart breaks for their families - at some point you have to admit to yourself that 17 years later they have to be dead….but to not know that for certain, to not know what happened, or where they are, and to not be able to even bury them, is a tragedy all by itself.
Richard had a 2 year old son when they vanished, and Danielle had a teenaged daughter…both were extremely close to their families, the bakery that Richard lived above was his family’s bakery, and he worked there. He was a very talented baker. They’d known one another since childhood - their families knew one another. These are just 2 people who would never walk away from their lives, never to be heard from again. The police, even now, treat it like a murder despite no conclusive evidence one way or another. But why? And who? Why go through the trouble of disposing of the bodies AND the truck? When you murder 2 people, the best thing to do is get as far away from the scene as quickly as possible - but this murderer would have spent a ton of time with their bodies, likely driven the truck, and pushed it off of a bridge with no one seeing them. You’d only do that if it was absolutely necessary because something about it would have exposed you. The whole thing is just so weird & nothing makes any sense. It’s so sad. I hope someday they’re found & their families have the opportunity to lay them to rest. ❤
My 2 cents are they either owed Someone money or ended up getting trafficked
@@mmaybee4379 - You could be right, it’s impossible to say these things didn’t happen. But I, personally, don’t think it had anything to do with gambling, or an outstanding debt, or money in general, at all. Both of them had savings accounts with more than $10,000 in them, and they both had checking accounts they used regularly for purchases. It doesn’t appear as though either of them used cash very often, or carried much cash with them when they went out. Neither of them had done any recent home renovations, or made any extravagant purchases, or done anything that might require a large influx of money that can’t be explained. There’s no indication that a large, inexplicable influx of cash was deposited to any of the bank accounts either of them had, nor of any large withdrawals, and no cash was found in either home. If they owed someone money, I’d expect to see evidence of money coming in, or money going out, which doesn’t fit their routines, bills, or their pay schedules….and I wouldn’t expect to see savings accounts with thousands of dollars, and checking accounts with more than a thousand dollars each, if their lives were in jeopardy because of debts going unpaid. That doesn’t mean it didn’t happen, it certainly could have…I just question the financial details if that’s the case. In addition, killing someone who owes you money only ensures that you’ll never get your money back from them…so why kill whichever one is indebted to you, let alone both of them? You’d have to owe someone a shit-ton of money for them to threaten your life, let alone risk the consequences of getting caught for murder, or accessory to murder. Anyone who deals in illegal activities, and whose own money comes from these illegal activities, doesn’t want to draw any attention to themselves, their businesses, and their families. Choosing to murder someone who owes you money doesn’t just eliminate the possibility of recouping that financial loss, it also puts you in a position to be arrested in connection to that murder, putting everything & everyone else in your life under a microscope by law enforcement. Murdering a second person - an innocent person who had the bad luck of being in the wrong place, with the wrong person, at the wrong time - compounds that risk. If feels like there would have to be some unique circumstances for it to be more advantageous than not to kill them…and those circumstances would be hard to hide from close friends & family. Their families have spent 17 years dissecting every tiny aspect of their lives in search of some kind of clue that might guide them to the truth, but there’s nothing. It seems like there would *have* to be something of evidentiary value if either of them was involved in anything as dangerous as this would turn out to be. But, maybe not.
I can’t say they weren’t trafficked either, because we don’t know what happened to them. I just don’t know how likely it is for someone to kidnap 2 full grown adults, one of whom is a large man. What would they be trafficked into? It’s probably not impossible to brainwash 2 well adjusted adults using the same tactics they use to brainwash young women into sex slavery, but it seems like a huge risk for someone to take, with very little reward. Is there a market for 30-something, white, American, couples for rape & torture? It seems unlikely anyone would go through all that trouble. But, it’s not impossible.
My opinion, which is no more valid than any other opinion, is that on the way home Richard lost control of the truck & the ice/snow caused it to slide right into a body of water. It seems like SOMEONE should have seen it at some point over the last 17 years, but stranger things have happened. Maybe they decided not to go directly home, or took a route they wouldn’t normally take for whatever reason, so they ended up in a place no one has searched because there’s no reason to believe they didn’t drive directly home using the most efficient route. I don’t know. I just hope they’re eventually found so that their families can have the closure they deserve & a place to lay them to rest, where they can visit & find peace. I can’t imagine anything worse than not knowing what happened to my sister, or my mom & dad…just having to decide whether I believe that they were killed quickly, without having to suffer torture, or whether they’re still out there somewhere, 17 years later, still trying to get home to me. I guarantee that my head and my heart would believe 2 wildly different things.
I’m from this area n the rumor at the time was that she cheated on her bf who was in the mob or some sht with Richard and that they were killed I never heard anything about driving off the road into some water

Lastly, the mob was big in Rockledge back then. My Uncle was shot by the mob in a shopping center right in that area. Hope that helps
