  • Join us as we dive into the cold case of 36-year-old William "Billy" Burr, who vanished without a trace in the early hours of a 1991 morning. Our latest episode takes us to the serene yet mysterious town of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, where the story of Billy's disappearance unfolds.
    🔍 The Disappearance:
On March 23, 1991, after a night out with friends, Billy was last seen driving his 1988 gold Toyota wagon. The night was still, the air was quiet, and the town was asleep. But Billy never made it home. His route, his actions, and his fate remain a mystery that has haunted his family for decades.

Armed with hope and determination, we navigate through the potential accident scenes, leveraging the low tide to search for any sign of Billy or his vehicle. Our search spans across multiple locations, each with its own story to tell, each a piece of the puzzle we're desperate to solve.
    💔 The Heartache:
Billy's disappearance left a void in his family that has never been filled. His granddaughter, whom he never had the chance to meet, reached out to us with a plea for closure. The family's longing for answers is palpable, their hope for Billy's return a silent prayer that echoes through the years.

If someone seems happy, it can always disguise depression. Speaking personally as someone who suffers with depression, it shocked people when I tried to take my own life. People always had seen me as the happy, joking, life and soul of a party type of person. Happiness can sometimes mask a personal mental darkness.

during the cleanup, I know they were checking the cars to see if remains were in them. But it's possible that they found the car, but it was so destroyed that the remains could have fallen out without them realizing. I would think each car found during the clean-up would have been logged. By plates or vin or by color and brand. It's possible that the car was found and logged in paperwork somewhere.

If I were local law enforcement, I would get AWP in to scan all of the local waterways and have wreckers hustle to get them out as soon as found. The real value is getting the wrecks to shore and clearing them. It would close missing persons and theft cases plus the waterways are clear. AWP would teach you the hot spots and all future scans there would be fresh accidents.

As sad as it sounds, that is a very viable possibility. Due to all the wreckage and displacement of buildings and other cars it was most likely looked over and salvaged without anyone knowing. If this was the case of mistaken as debris.

It is quite possible the company that pulled the vehicles was unaware of a missing person/vehicle... someone not knowing or recognizing it as HIS car... I would hope that all of the vehicles that were pulled, were verified by plate and/or VIN by the proper authorities before being crushed or however they were taken care of, presumably at a salvage yard... Sadly, things slip through the cracks...
I do wish that the marina and docks had been searched better (I don't recall what the depth was)... Was it Jimmy Amibile that was found with a pylon through his hood?
In any case, I truly hope that this family feels better knowing where he's not... They searched the most likely places... Maybe the family can come up with more locations of interest, based on new information...

I lived in Bay St Louis for several years. Before and after Katrina. We fished all of the water around there.
    That area was completely devastated.
The Bay Bridge between Pass Christian and Bay St Louis was destroyed by Katrina. The existing bridge was built in 2006. The old bridge was a lot closer to the water and a car could have easily gone over.
The bayous were full of debris and all were dredged after Katrina. Few would have been deep enough to hide a car. Especially at low tide.
The beaches were all dredged since 2005. At low tide you can walk out 150 ft. And could walk that far out before Katrina.
If you turn north on Beach Blvd after coming off the Bridge that is Called the Back bay by locals.
That road ends at a boat ramp. I don't think it is deep enough to hide a car at low tide but it would be a perfect accident location . Especially someone drinking.
Back before Katrina it just had a guard rail at the end of the road.
The Pearl River is also deep enough in Ansley and Pearlington.
While I lived there about 30 cars were pulled out of the water on the Louisiana side of the Pearl River in Pearlington.
It is really sad but my guess is the car was pulled out with the debris from Katrina. And no one noticed.😢
I know they were not trying to locate owners of the cars pulled from the bayous. Just hauling them out.

There is a long pond right next to the Lee county civic center and they don't allow fishing. A young woman during the winter even though it doesn't get cold in North Fort Myers was driving home from a bar and the authorities never checked this pond until a few years later. A guy who had a large magnet caught the car and finally the divers for Lee county found the car and she was still in there. Had they let people fish there and used a boat with sonar they may have found her earlier. After she left the bar and drove over a overpass over the river and turned the corner lost control because the water is right next to the road. I know it had alligators in there but most water does.

FYI: Katrina had a 40 ft wall of water than came ashore near St. Stanilaus. The Bay Bridge was destroyed by Katrina in 2005. It is not exactly where it had been. We are having a severe drought in MS in 2023. Many people will pick up hitch hikers. If you move more to the north or further West there are significant bodies of water. The area near the bridge abd Bay St. has a mud bottom. People have drown even with rescuers trying to save them. It will suck you in.

That casino wasn’t there in 1991. I starting training for months in 1991 to work at Biloxi Bell casino barge that is now the Hard rock casino. It was one of the 4 casinos they had and they was all docking barges. The bay saint Louis casino didn’t come until years later. It was years later when they got permission from the city’s by voting to build on land and move the 4 in water to other places.

11:42 well, legally it's still poaching, even if you're doing it out of desperation to make ends meet and feed your family. But I get where you're coming from, Jared. Here in Germany someone couldn't even go poaching out of desperation though, since any weapons and ammunitions that could be used for that people aren't allowed to buy or own. Acquiring the permission to buy and own would cost more than feeding your family and would take too long anyway. Farmers are not even allowed to shoot the wolves that prey on their cattle, sheep and horses.
    It's insane.

One thing to consider. Just because a waterway or lake may not be deep enough now, doesn't mean it's always been that shallow. So the bobber could be misleading if enough sediment, silt, trees, trash or whatever has accumulated in 30-40 years, partially burying a car...

I sometimes wonder if you’re too quick to dismiss a site based on depth. Particularly with coastal waters.
Manmade additions to shorelines can significantly alter sedimentation patterns, and what is shallow now may have been deep 40 years ago.
Here in the Great Lakes region we have seen breakwaters destroy dune lands and impact the local environment by altering erosion and sedimentation patterns.
Really admire what you’re doing. Please keep bringing hope to grieving families.

So the possibility of the carcasses you have seen on the bridges is that someone could have hit the animal on the road. In the case of a deer, the motorist has the option, in some states, to keep the deer. The sad part is that most deer that have been injured in the body area do not have enough undamaged meat for consumption. The best thing to do with the deer is to remove it from the road so that coyotes or other animals can eat it away from the road. When this happens on a bridge, they can end up in or near the water.

If Katrina washed so much away. And changed the flow of the water couldn't that car be washed a long ways off??

Those may not be poached deer, they may have been hit by cars. Not all states allow you to pick up what you hit.

I couldn’t imagine having someone I love and so close to just up and disappear to never be seen again. He’s some where close if he’s in water. It’s been over 30 years and a lot of Hurricanes and storms have came through since 1991. There no telling. But just because Awp didn’t recover or find him don’t give up. I do feel like there should have been a search by the bay bridge where he crossed after leaving the bar. Who is to say after he dropped of his 2 friends he didn’t turn around and go back to the bar are meet someone there and ran off that bridge. Bridges have been replaced since Katrina hit. So there wouldn’t be any evidence of anyone going off the side of it. Just pray pray to god that he will give a sign and bring him home… my heart goes out to u and your family
