They knew how to make entertainements in those days ! I remember my father who said : "When we went out of the theater, your mother and I, we were full of joy, and hope for all the week."
Nowadays, if we go to the cinema, we go out desperated or frightened.
Thanks for sharing this little gem ; just too bad that Betty Grable had not a real singing and dancing partner, but she is lovely and she makes the show, and so does the unique Charlotte Greenwood.
There are good movies these days, but you have to look for them. I saw "IF" a few days ago, and it's very good. Same for "Journey to Bethlehem", "Sonic the Hedgehog" and so on. Most movies today are either really violent, trashy, and foul-mouthed. But there are exceptions.

One of them is
"Christmas Carole"
with the very lovable Surane Jones
'Renaissance' artists aimed to uplift the viewer and draw them into beauty, they were primarily interested in their subjects. Modern artists aim to shock and confuse, they are primarily interested in themselves' - - I think the change started in the 60s/70s.
The fashion! So beautiful. So feminine. One of the reasons I love Classic movies 👗
i love them for the dialogue. theyre so witty :)
@@karadanvers6136 Oh yes! Writers back then were absolutely brilliant 🤗
So immodest!
Me too! Also the music and dialogue.
@@joyceobeys6818 I agree that they are immodest, but compared to what women are wearing today they are very modest! Women have no shame anymore. They don't care who sees what and hope they do at that!👎
For decades I only knew the tune, but since many years I also watch this excellent retro movie. How beautiful was old Miami!
People spoke with a certain degree of respect and grace in the classic movies. Now a dog has better manners than a person does.
Racism
@Randy Moore
It`s a movie! Showing privileged well-mannered people.
In real life, ordinary people did have better manners than nowadays but not like this.
The problem nowadays is that even well-educated people have no manners at all.
Touché
So true! Even the poor and street people had done resemblance of manners! Our world is truly going to hell
It was a good run, now everything is neomarxism, moral decay and corrupt.
One of my favorite classic films Ooh, Don Ameche. Plus you have Jack Haley a.k.a. The Cowardly Lion and the gorgeous Betty Grable. Then, there is the glamorous background of Old Florida. Perfection. Thanks to whoever uploaded this gem.
Jack Haley was the tin man though 😊
You forgot Charlotte Greenwood, she holds it all together . Great cast.
My momma was born in the same hospital as Don ameche on the same day but several years apart. Back in kenosha wisc!
He was the tin man, not the lion 😉
Ton man
My husband and I we only watch the classic old movies. They are clean and funny. ❤❤❤
Americana at its finest
You, the people who still know how to appreciate what is good, healthy & wholesome, are the hope for your country.
Fantastic musical! I love it! Betty Grable and the Condos brothers were very very great dancers! Thanks for this movie and I'm waiting for more!
Yes, Betty Grable, with her million dollar legs! Don Ameche, with his signature wit, and versatile acting style that carry his career to the 1980's hit comedy Trading Places! Also, a stellar supporting cast! "O Me, Oh Miami!" You cannot watch a more joy filled musical than Moon Over Miami!
Betty Grable is my favorite movie blond. One the first movies of hers I ever saw and one of my favorites.
Were her legs insured for a million dollars?
Is it any wonder that the US forces were crazy over her? Who can forget "animal" in Stalag 17? Haha
Love these musicals movies, classic are the best. They don't make movies like that anymore 😪 Thank you hope to see more.
i wish these dresses would be back in style i love them
They never went out of style
Absolutely Striking aren't they. And the men all dressed so dapper.
Such great respect in ALL
areas😊 of daily life!
How about the gentlemen in white dinner jackets and black bow ties? An elegant age.
I've just finished sewing TWO 50s style dresses for myself and they're absolutely gorgeous (although I do say so myself)
Wow, Technicolor shots of Cyprus Gardens and Silver Springs circa 1940, what a nice surprise!
the biggest female star at the box office for 10 years- from 1943 to 1953! You go, Ms. G!!!!
👏 Applause, another
joyous movie. Wonderful cast,music,
wardrobe. What more
can we ask for.
Thank you,Thank you.
If they made movies like this still, I would go to cinema every WEEK!!!
Love it! Technicolor, Don Ameche, Betty Grable, Jack Haley, Charlotte Greenwood, Hermes Pan, Robin and Rainger. What's not to love?
Thank you for
bringing such terrific
joyous movies.
They fulfill the fantasies of the good
old days. It is so much
better to dream happiness rather than
darkness.
Being alone can take
you into the darkness,
This movies make you
laugh,cry of joy and
simply they bring
back good memories
of our own personal
life, things that we
did and said.
Thank you.
that's betty grable? no wonder she was a star! she is so cute and talented! :) i jumped to the middle of the movie, to see if it was any good :) now im playing from beginning bc i had to find out who the actress was :) nice! my first betty grable picture :)
NO WAY!!!!!! YOU GOT MOON OVER MIAMI!!!! I found it as a video shop 20 years ago and hired it all the time, I loved it so much. Then it was NOWHERE to be found. How did you do this magic!!! Thank you :D
My favorite Betty Grable movie. Love the "Kindergarten Conga".
Classic movies are Gold indeed.
I'd hate to have that job they had at the beginning! Of course I'd be stuck back in the kitchen because I can't sing a note!😂
That bird was Jimmy the Crow. He was in The Wizard of Oz (along with Jack Haley), It's a Wonderful Life, as well as many other movies! This was a great movie. Thanks for the upload.💜
So much fun. The story and the music, along with whimsical acting … tres bien.
Kudos to both Gentlemen. The way to conduct a conversation of variable perspectives!
Très belle comédie musicale avec des artistes très sympa et très glamour 😂comme on n en fait plus ❤
Awesome, Restrospective! Thank you, so very much for uploading this classic musical! I grew up on all genres of classic musicals and films, because of my late father! My father enjoyment of musicals, and classic films was so wide that we had thousands upon of thousands of titles on discs, VHS tapes, and now I am repurchasing many of the beloved titles, and so pleased that I can now re-watch them anytime, anywhere that I pleased! TH-cam offers a variety of musicals thanks to individual's like Restrospective, who endeavors for others to enjoy musicals and movie classics! Awesome! Just awesome, Restrospective!
My Mom took me to see musicals from the time I could walk in the 40's and I never looked back. Pretty soon she had me dancing and singing to the music 🎶 😌 💕 😍! Thanks Mom for the best times
Thank you for adding this one. I've always liked Betty Grable films.

I'm 64 in this is my first Betty Grable movie❤ Purely and thoroughly enjoyed every minute❤
Marvelous GOOD CLEAN 😊 FUN
One of my favorites! 🎉
I miss these days and I wasn't even born then
Ah, so THIS is where Dennys got the name from.:) Grandma loved the menu item named after this.
Moons over My Hammy🥪
I was thinking the same thing.😊
The elegance of it, and Don Ameche who was not in many movies, is eye candy too :)
This movie was made decades before I was born but I must admit - Mr. Ameche is mighty pretty.
love this movie!!!! Some of this was filmed in my grand mothers town of Winter Haven Florida!!!! recognized the scenery of Cypress Gardens, which no longer exists. It is now called Lego Land!!!!
I love Robert Cummings!!
My favorite movie…EVER! 2024
Thank you so much for uploading this one, as well as the others. Actually not a fan of musical and yet was delighted to watch and even rewatch this one.☺️🌲🙏🏻💜
1:07:54 - What natural dialogue, LOL! I forgot that information drop (telling each other what they already know, just so they can be overheard).
I remembered when Denny's restaurants were serving "Moon Over My Hammy" sandwixhes" .
Love Hermes Pan. All those Astaire & Rogers movies ❤️
I love watching him dance!!!
I can never find "Pan's Labrynith" in English, has anyone else? Hermes Pan hum I'll look that up after movie. Thanks Sam. Have a great life. OmOmOm
Choreographer jp
Like his work
Anyone in 2024
Well thats a fun comedy. Nobody is very upset an the end of the day and everything ends up perfect. I love that for them,
I love this movie!
Do the math. They inherited $55,000. Minus Fed Tax 12% ($6,600), 6% State Tax ($3,300), 3% Probate Tax ($1,650), $2,500 Administrative fees, and $4,800 Lawyers - - totals deductions of $18,850 - - leaving a balance of $36, 150. Why did they get only $4,287.86 ??
a math teacher.
Maybe whoever was tasked with writing this paper, stole the money and fumbled the numbers, them hoping they wont do the math themselves. And they didn't.
It’s a lovely movie! Entertaining and visually stunning!❤
🍿This movie was adorable ~ an updated version of ~ the 1938 Three Blind Mice w/Loretta Young, David Niven & Joel McCrae and the beautiful & funny Bonnie Barnes❣️Hope you go enjoy that one too😊🎞️ A big 😘 to Don Ameche❤
Is this where Denny's got Moon Over My Hammy? 😭 This movie is great! First time seeing it.
I wonder!
Been meaning to watch this for Jack Haley for months now. Thanks!
Im so glad to find that movie! A friend reccomended it to me and I was meant to watch it. NIce and funny.
Thanks for sharing this gem.
Cute. This movie is a remake of the 1938 movie Three Blind Mice with Loretta Young, David Niven and Joel McCrea. I prefer the 1938 version but this was still fun and a ton better than todays movies.
Guacamala sause? Guacamole? LOL! I heard about this film on Golden Girls ages ago, thought I would find out.
Oh! for a bit of glamour in today's films.
Love the lighthearted energy !! great film
Thank you for uploading. Really enjoyed this one!
Loving the old movies!
tyfs my dear!
that was fun, thank-you
Fantastic movie
Poor, tragic Carol Landis
Rex Harrison was a real cad but Carol was a very disturbed woman.😊
Love the horses.
Back when this was made you could by a nice home . Even in NY
Back when this was made you could afford to buy a home!
@@shorty7363😂and ah car too
That time actors and actresses were capable of doing everything: dancing, singing,,sports…Plus they very attractive …
Fabulous movie. Thank you 12/11/22
Very good movie !!!
Appreciate the beautiful move.12 stars⭐.Have an Epic Christmas 🎄 and Epic New years may God add years to your life &great strength.have a monumental morning
There is no God but still a nice sentiment.
Don Ameche’s singing voice!
Thank You so much!!
That drunk guy sure had an unusual way of telling her that she was great!
Good movie
This is a color musical version of Three Blind Mice starring Loretta Young (1938).
ps who knew don ameche was handsome?! nice :)
Very, very handsome indeed 🥰
Never mind that, who knew he could sing?!
I've never seen or heard of this before but it was very enjoyable. Loved the storyline and the stars playing the parts. Great to have it in colour the only thing that let it down was the inserted advertising which even cut song numbers in half; this spoilt the whole film! Very badly timed and I'm sure others would agree. When you want entertainment the musical numbers shouldn't be cut up like this it's very disappointing. It needed some respect on when to make advert breaks.
There was a time of good looks and a song about Apple pie in a sunflower field while riding your bike love was in the air with the birds singing la di da da
Along the way, we lost our innocence.
They were singing about good life ahead of all of us…But nowadays showed that we failed to create this beautiful future…Unfortunately today, as in 1941, the world is very close to the WW too…
Thank you for showing my movie, my hat I requested
Those were the days when 55000 bucks was a lot of dough.
A dollar was a lot of dough until the banksters inflated it into toilet paper.
TH-cam sure knows how to ruin good music by interupting it with noisy commercials.
@1:19:10 One of the girls say, "What we'll we do?" First uncross her legs, could cause blood clots, no matter what's wrong. Such a cute movie I love the aunt. My older sis is "Kay", Younger sis is "Barbara" and in the middle is me " the aunt", I didn't get her stage name, just aunt. LOL. Great show at the end here goes.
Her character was Aunt Susan.
Actress Charlotte Greenwood, known for her high kick.
Cute movie
Delightful ❤😊
40’s > 50’s! 💕
How did they move the boat
gosh rare color classic during ww2 movies
When this movie was released, the US was not at war yet.
Pleasant,Thank you
Everyone ends up happy.
Good!
Great ciné film. But, if your source is not high def, no amount of posting as high def will make it high def. This posting seems to have an awful lot of compression.
There's another movie with the same story except it was 3 sisters trying to hook a rich husband
Yes ❤ 🎥 1938 Three Blind Mice 😅 ~ Loretta Young, David Niven & Joel McCrae ~ I love that one a bit more only because it has the amazing, funny & beautiful Bonnie Barnes❣️
th-cam.com/video/_AHefaQ-Ozc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gjbH5YsPRu06j4_e
to put into perspective 4200 dollars in 1940 is equivalent to about 95,000 in todays money. yet they were considered poor.
Is that really Don Ameche's singing voice?
Yes
He sang in other movies
He starred in Broadway in the Cole Porter musical Silk Stockings.
Not sure why he sang that high in the movies, I read that a vocal coach fixed that for the musical
How about that scene when Betty is shown in the pink dress and for a brief moment the effect is that Betty is naked. Ha, the sets, the hair the makeup the bedroom decor. Hollywood magic is on display here!
Yes, promiscuity and immodesty. Yes, Hollywood brought much sin and adultery.
I didn't expect that to be her going out dress. I thought it was a night gown!😱
Like the dress with the fur on bottom of dress and her muff.
“Gwokamala Sauce” 🥑🤣
There is more to Miami now then boats eating dancing and dressing up.
No not if you’re a decent person
Never saw tapping while sitting in a chair.
1:14:00 - Chicken livers for breakfast!!!
Chicken livers anytime is 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮!!!
Took this kind of dancing but never on a patio.
Por favor ....en español gracias
Enjoyed this movie especially the speed boat scene where no one got wet!
Even Esther Williams never got wet.
In reality bob Cummings was more interested in Don Ameche than Betty Grable
Are you kidding? He was married 5 times to women.
Way to many adds!!!! interrupting, a wonderful selection of movies. To sad, I hope you can lower the amount of adds. Thnx
It's too many ads, not to many adds. I agree though. There were too many ads and they always popped up at the wrong times, usually right in the middle of a song!
