In addition, we have a small garden so I improvised on this awesome dish and added some fresh basil and graded a squash and you didn't know it was in there. Great way to hide extra nutrition! I was going to add spinach as well but chose not to this round. Great job! Thanks for the idea.

I normally but a huge bag of frozen veggies to add as filler to meals a cup at a time. Casseroles, soups, tacos(picadillo filling).

I totally agree. I've experienced exactly what you're talking about. Now I can afford to eat very well and I'm never hungry. After years of hard work and many pay raises, I could afford to eat steak and shrimp every night if I wanted to. But, years ago, I was homeless and couch crashing where I could thanks to some generous friends. There were days that I didn't get to eat anything but, most of the time, I could afford to buy some ramen to eat. I lived on ramen and once in a while I could add some things to it like green beans, or cream of mushroom soup. I can't count the number of days that I went without food. I appreciate that you are showing people some ways to eat fairly well and not go hungry. Think of all of the single women out there working and trying to feed their kids. That's why I donate often to the food bank in my area.

Pasta dishes are very easy and can be very good for you. You can also make a meaty spaghetti / pasta and ground beef tomato sauce really quickly that'll taste good.
After throwing some (not a lot) of butter into a pan, brown the ground beef while breaking the ground beef up into chunks (make sure there is no pink showing, as browning means to sear the outside of the meat), and then take your Ragu jar or whatever brand of tomato sauce you got and add it to the ground beef. Mix the two together and then cover the ground beef-sauce mixture and cook on your lowest heat setting for 10-12 minutes. I don't recommend adding water, but you can if you like a runnier sauce-meat combo.
While you are browning the beef, start boiling some water- add salt to taste (and I usually add a little butter). Add your pasta after boiling the water, and make sure to stir the pasta so it doesn't stick- that's also helped by the butter, while the butter also gives a bit of flavor. Cook a little longer than what the package says.
Drain your pasta- some people say add cold water, but I actually don't, since I eat/serve it right away. You can either serve it right away or put it together (if you don't mind it being pre-mixed) or as I like, separated so people can add as much as they like.
This is also a very budget friendly meal, I usually spend less than 10$ to make this for 3-4 people with 1 pound of ground beef. You can even buy a lil' bottle of either Italian seasoning or just basil and add that in as well. I'd recommend something else, but since it's frozen, I'll leave you with just the above. You can even mix it up using chicken, though I have yet to try that and don't know what to do exactly, or timers for it. Just make sure if you do chicken that the middle is white before you eat it!

Love this dish , been doing it for years now , feeding a family of 5 calls for a lot of low cost meals nowadays . I also will use Italian Sausage in place of the chicken if its cheaper that week , the local store has a 5 for 19.99 deal in the meat department and their own fresh sausages are great for dishes like this .

Looks really good, recently picked up from Walmart (Great Value)a couple of jars of their spaghetti sauce comparable and probably made by Ragu $1.00 a bottle 24Oz/680G. I said to myself this must be a chemical soup, zero; here is the Italian chunky; Tomato puree, water tomato paste, diced tomatoes in puree ,onions, sugar, soybean oil, celery, green bell peppers, carrots, salt 450mg, garlic powder, onion powder, spices, parsley, natural flavor, citric acid.... Has 10 grams of "sugar" which to me is unnecessary. I was pleasantly surprised... You know you buy the larger bottles of sauce and it ends up going bad.I just don't have the time to make this stuff from scratch. Taste test showed it was excellent No chemicals and the expiration is two years out. Walmart is listening in the food category. Adding their Barilla veggie spaghetti (Tomato and carrot) some sausage cooked on the grill and some Mozzarell... Throw in toaster oven and wallah! I find the toaster oven to be quite efficient. Just some food for thought... Thanks for the great video!

It is the best FAST meal you could ever make that actually is so light and fluffy tasting my family goes for seconds every single time. I cheat…I use two cans of cooked chicken breast and it is just the most DELICIOUS meal you could ever make. We have this at least every three months and that because I stand my ground or they would be wanting this every night. Thank you so much for the recipe!!!!

    Made this. Incredible. Awesome recipe!
I made a couple changes.. .I included sauteed onions and green pepper with some crushed garlic for the "cook the chicken int he sauce" part. I always have those ingredients in my tomato sauce, so I figured I'd add it here, too. I couldn't find non-flour based pasta, so I went with a veggie spiral pasta - I don't think it makes any difference to the outcome. Came out amazing.
Easy recipe with not too many ingredients.. and inexpensive.. .which I think someone can appreciate on any budget.

Thanks for another ingenious, economical and satisfying recipe!

I sort of do this, but instead of chicken I use hamburger or sausage, also a lot more cheese.
Cook the pasta until almost done in water, cook the hamburger, then put in the pasta sauce(ragu super chunky mushroom). Stir in some cheese. Drain the pasta and mix into the sauce and meat mixture, then put into a pan. Top with a lot of cheese, put in the oven until the cheese is golden. Take it out, serve and eat with garlic/cheese toast.
