New Monthly Prizes and Upcoming Events
New Monthly Prize
There will be a new monthly prize of a $30.00 USD Meta Gift Card given each month. This will be awarded to the person who catches the largest SOTD shark for the month or FOTD, chosen by me, but not disclosed to the players. This is an attempt to even the playing field for those who don't have as much time to play.
At the beginning of the month, I will choose either SOTD or FOTD. If it is SOTD, I will pick a shark and send that info to Rick Thomas, to safeguard that it really was selected before any fishing has taken place. The person who catches the largest of that species, wins the gift card. If it is FOTD, I will pick a date and choose saltwater or freshwater. The person who wins that FOTD, wins the gift card.
These do not run concurrently, there is only one gift card prize given each month. As we hopefully generate more prize money through my TH-cam channel (Please Subscribe), or through the GoFundMe that is being established, I hope to be able to do $60.00 a month, one for each contest.
Pink Tiger Shark Weekend
We will have a two-day tournament starting at 12:00 PM June 28th and ending at 11:59 AM June 30th. The total value of this prize (donated by a member) will be $200.00 USD. A portion of that will be for a very nice trophy and shipping, the left over will be awarded as an Amazon Digital Gift Card. This is pretty straight forward, the person who catches the largest Pink Tiger Shark during that period, will win the prize. Since it will run concurrently with those two days of SOTD, no special submission rules apply, save one; submissions must be made within one hour of the catch.
GoFundMe Prize Pool
A member contacted me about creating a GoFundMe for the group. I have never and will never ask for members to contribute monetarily to the group. We have been operating on some donations, with Rick and me kicking in the rest. Once the GFM is set up, I will post a link to it once a month. The only contribution I have ever asked is to subscribe to my YT channel, and rewatch as many videos as possible, those count towards the hours watched I need to start earning money for the group. I thought I made the goal, but that was to make money through a YT store selling merch, and asking for donations. I may look into the merch idea if it seems like something members are interested in.
Anyhow, I am excited about things to come. We will continue to do other special events like we (Rick) have been putting on. I want to say thank you to all of our members. I am a member of a lot of gaming groups, and 90% of them are toxic. I think we have created something very special here, and I hope to keep it going for quite some time! Keeping my fingers crossed for a possible RVRF 2, you never know.
