Nice, awesome find! I have been testing also, trying to figure out the best technique. I have been able to target in expert, I have found the bait preferences where they instant bite. i gatherred this in beta and it carried over to full release. For example on location 1, I look for giant swirls and target with a worm. Quick bite will always be the pink tigershark. I did just find out the other night fishing with another person that the depth didn't matter as long as you target the same size fish. I was catching a bunch of Red-Belled Lake Sturgeon just targeting the huge fish on location 15.
If you use the fish buffet method on the golden bullhead, blue crappie, silver bass, monster spotted bass, and the albino catfish (those are the uniques I’ve caught so far) it only takes about 5 minutes before you catch one. Try it!
I just caught my second red football fish with crankbait in normal. He was yellow in mid level depth. I only reset my fish twice. The first one I caught took me weeks on expert. I was trying to catch a different fish for the Journey collection and hooked the unique.
Thnx! So surprisingly Unique fish share similar characteristics with the rare sharks: do not show up in the fish finder, do not require Expert mode, rare by definition. Nevertheless, they are targeted directly and not lured with a small\medium target file. Correct?
It doesn’t matter, you can fish for any fish on the fish finder. Basically the unique could be a tiny fish but you can still catch it if you go after a large
All the rare fish can be caught on easy or intermediate mode. I prefer intermediate, I like the fishfinder better than the glasses. Scroll through all your bates and watch how the fish change colors and if you see a fish, that never turns green, that will be a rare fish.

My friend told me about this method and I never thought it worked, but I was wrong.😅 it took over 50 casts for me to catch one using this method😂
Thank you!

So if I get it right first I need to catch all fishes including all epics to catch my first unique ? Do I need max exp and max credits also ?
Would the unique be considered a medium a large or a small or all?

Question how
Do you get the rare on the first page?
All the rare fish can be caught on easy or intermediate mode. I prefer intermediate, I like the fishfinder better than the glasses.

What's the fish buffet method?
You catch and release the same fish over and over.

How do you quick release the fish
Long Thumbstick down (it adversely affects your reel's durability)
