    The start tile is considered 4 separate tiles. It's shown on the back of the tile. Also, the correct timing of a turn is:
    1.Draw. 2. Place. 3. Remove ghosts if a mist zone is complete. 4. Place ghosts if not completed. 5. Score points.
    So you don't add ghosts to a mist which you have just completed.

    When you remove up to 3 ghosts from 1 tile, you can remove them from cemetery. At least I don't see nothing in the manual that forbids it.

    I've been wanting to see a playthrough of this fantastic game with GameNight! Carcassonne was my intro to board gaming. So cool that it's a cooperative version, and so glad you played two levels, as it showed how different the difficulty levels can be. This looks to be a very satisfying game, and I WANTS it! Thaks for the playthrough!

    I love that part just before you started where Deborah as a newbie to the game was struggling to hold/shuffle a pile of tiles, while simultaneously we see Lincoln speedily shuffling his tiles and placing his pile with masterful ease, and then Deborah goes to place her pile on the table and drops them all! (Around 18:20) It was lovely. You can't plan that stuff. :-)

    At 24:03 when you put a tile that finishes a mist territory you take away all ghosts at once without having to place that extra ghost. I am sure I read this correctly in the booklet. And this point is critical at later stages when you only have one or two ghosts left aside.

    I still think it's a huge mistake to NOT place your meeple on the tile you placed when you have the opportunity...unless you are down to your last meeple. Why? Because having a meeple on the board let's someone who places a tile to both score your placed meeple, plus add one of their own. Example...if you put your meeple on an incomplete road...then someone places a tile that has a 3 road intersection...they can COMPLETE the road segment you had your meeple on, PLUS put their meeple on one of the other branches. When you don't do that...that person has to waste their placement claiming that section of completed road and leave the tile they placed with no ready-to-score meeple. It was driving me crazy watching you play the 2nd game, where you all had 3-5 meeples in your inventory and were choosing NOT to put them out...they can't score unless they're out. My rule of thumb is put them on the board if you can, only hesitate if you are down to your last one, save it for a place-and-score scenario (like finishing a city).

    • @gaaraxebeard
      @gaaraxebeard ปีที่แล้ว

    • @metallsnubben
      @metallsnubben ปีที่แล้ว

      Big difference between this and the non co-op version of course, there everyone's doing their darndest to keep those meeples stranded haha

      And the more meeple out the more choice you have to sacrifice to the cemetery without forfeiting too many points!

    • @boardgamegeek

      From wikicarpedia - Mists_over_Carcassonne:
      "Question: Can I choose to remove ghosts instead of taking the points from one color in a joint scoring?
      Answer: No.
      A joint scoring counts as 1 scoring. So choosing to remove ghosts means not getting any points."

    At the 30:40 mark...Deborah cannot legally place a meeple on the road because it has mist on it.
    The rules clearly state that you cannot place meeples on any mist areas. Rulebook: Page 5, 2b.

  • @pterrok5495
    @pterrok5495 ปีที่แล้ว

    So it seems you MUST play for a huge city. So that means looking at all the tiles and making your own list of city shapes so you know what you have to do. Which makes it seem rather annoying. But without that, I can't see winning very often by luck...

    • @gomezthechimp1116
      @gomezthechimp1116 ปีที่แล้ว

      It doesn't necessarily have to be huge. An 8 tile city with one shield will win level one outright if it has 3 meeples.

    I enjoy playing Carcassonne with my kids and I think we will enjoy this co-op version as well. Great video as usual, Deborah is gorgeous and Lincoln is amusing but I think it’s a little embarrassing Nikki counts on the score board with her finger instead of doing simple elementary school arithmetic….

      She's obviously doing it for the audience to get a proper visual as to what is going on (makes sence in a guide video). Pretty simple really. You could have learnt it at pre school.
