(I would watch this every Saturday, honestly, but that might be a bit much :) But I absolutely loved watching you react to products, try them out, it was like first impressions but it was so fun to see you remember what you have tried before!!! I recently reorganized my makeup drawers in three sections for each type of product: love, just okay, and can’t remember. Now each day when I pick out my makeup I can choose depending on my mood or how much time I have or if I have an important meeting, etc, if I want to reach for something tried and true, something that was okay but I’m not ready to get rid of, or something I don’t know well enough to know how I feel about it. It is so much fun! And it sort of helps me de clutter gradually. Thanks for a great long Saturday morning video!
This would be a good weekly series.. maybe Thursdays "Throw Back or Throw Away".. Its a good way for you to gradually declutter while actually trying the products out to help you decide whether to keep or toss.. I enjoyed this video very much!
I love this idea for a video! This is my favorite way to declutter... try different things regularly and toss them as I'm not impressed. I find it very difficult to remember if I enjoy a product when I have 30 of the same kind, and I haven't used it recently. More of these please!

I have LOVED makeup since I played with my grandmother’s Covergirl. Once I started watching makeup videos I got sucked into the constant buying. Not to the extent of youtubers but definitely more than I need (I think the highlighter craze really brought it to my attention!) I am much happier now to just use the wonderful items I have 😁. I just did this the other day and also came up with a lot of great products, like Milani Luminoso, my Maybelline Better Skin powder and other goodies I forgot how much I love. I also found a lot I could declutter in the process after using again and realizing there were far better products I have now.

I recently "rediscovered" my Laura Gellar balance and brighten and I wondered why I ever stopped using it. I just use concealer and that powder and it really does wonders for my skin. I love this idea of bringing out what has gotten pushed to the back of your bin just because you are adding new things.

Amanda V Yes! I find the translucent pearl great for fair to light skin tone. It isn't too cool/frosty, but not too warm/golden either. CVS and Ulta both have great deals on PF. Catch them on their next BOGO!
It seems like all the highlighters that look white in the pan and would be light enough for my fair skin all have a golden undertone and I'm constantly searching for one that leans pink instead. I have this one and I don't know why I'm not satisfied with it and have to keep searching. FOMO, I guess... ;-D
The way it looks in the pan is kindve deceptive because you assume it will be a very light baby pink but its actually kindve just a beige/nude tone. I still really like the way it looks because the color blends so seamlessly into my very fair (~NW15 skin. Its a bit too sparkly to have a glossy effect but it's kindve faux glossy because the shade mimics the color of the glow that would naturally occur on my face if it was super dewy, if that makes sense. I think the name translucent pearl is truly an appropriate description of it

The individual lashes are super easy - I put a plop of glue on my mixing plate to save time - it gets tacky sitting there (no waiting for each lash knot to get tacky). Then I apply using tweezers & a magnifying mirror. For me, this is something I can’t screw up - it comes out great every time 😊. Looks great even when I’m not wearing any other makeup.

My aunt(best friend, 2nd mom), passed away suddenly, I gave her CPR but couldn't save her, I needed to re-home all of her cats, my own 19 year old cat passed away, it's all too much too quick. I love this video! Two weekends ago I reorganized my makeup bathroom and was shocked by all the stuff I found in the back of drawers and bottom of bins. I moved all those things.to one bin and have been using them. Some I understand why I forgot them, others are brilliant and I'm happy I found them again
MakeupRevolution pomade at £4.50 is so brilliant that I will never spend Anastasia BH or Benefit prices for it again!! But the one exception is I do want to try the burgundy kat Von D pomade. Similarly with brow pencils, my faves are NYX and one from Wish for £1, so again, I now could never justify ABH/Benefit priced items for pencils!!!
Ximena de la Serna never heard any creator even try the No7 brand brow pencil I’m always searching for the perfect brow pencil and never stopped to even think about their makeup I’ll have to order it so thx for mentioning it in a comment. Example of why I enjoy scanning comments as I have found great product recs!

I loved this! The entire concept. Using make up you never do, which all TH-camrs talk about but you actually did, and then letting go of what you didn’t like and utilize the make up you like more often!
This is a great video concept. This is actually how I declutter my makeup collection most of the time. I will pick a face of products that I never reach for and actually give them a shot on a day when I'll just be around the house or running a quick errand. It helps to discover new loves and also finally pull the trigger and get rid of crappy products that I've been holding on to because I never got a chance to try them again recently.
I love this idea! I'm going to mention it to other people I watch. I'm inspired to do this myself OMG I was so happy when they said they were dating! I didn't want Idol to be over yet either. It was a very quick season. Maybe they'll make it longer next year. I guess they would have to pay the judges more though. That could be a reason it was cut short. Yeah, A.I. did go quick this year. I don't think the judges pay was affected by the length of the season though. Katy Perry got 25 million dollars for doing the show. I read an article about it and it said they blew almost the entire budget on her. They thought she would bring a lot of young viewers due to her popularity on instagram. Apparently, Lionel and Luke were pissed because they got a LOT less. Not sure, but I'm guessing it was at the most half what she got. But, even with Katy the ratings were lower than they wanted. The Voice continued to dominate. I guess Ryan Seacrest got 15 million and I think that was also higher than the other judges. Anyway, I thought that was interesting. (But maybe the judges only wanted to sign on for a certain number of weeks, and that's why they eliminated 2 or 3 every week?)
I keep looking ay the display of the Broadway brad ay my dollar general... and I always think I wonder..... but then I get scared, my display is huge.. maybe could you review your display if not I know you have a ton of stuff to review so I get it....

no problem! I can only donate unopened, unused products to the local women's center & homeless shelters. I have a lot of PR extras that go there. Health codes prevent them from sharing used products with their clients, which I totally agree with. I also set aside some new things to make gift baskets for silent auctions that several local charitable groups hold throughout the year. But if I have products that are used but still "good" (not too old), I'll offer them to family. If I know it's not a good product or just plain old, I'll throw it away! :)
I can NOT bake at all but coty airspun is the worst for me to bake with idk why i have watery eyes but dry undereyes and baking just makes it sooooo much worse lol
I just really wish that urban decay didn’t celebrate drug culture in their names. I know it’s just a gimmick and they’re not advocating drug use, but it’s just a bit painful considering so many people do lose family members to drug use. SORRY TO BE A DOWNER! The colors are very pretty.
I hear you. Like I said, I know it’s not like someone is going to see the makeup and go “you know what? I think I’ll try drugs.” I just wish it wasn’t so normalized in our society as a whole. I’m coming from a place of pain, not of judgement.
I agree it’s in poor taste. Using that to make a beauty product seem edgy just glamorizes drug culture. There’s nothing sexy about bean teeth, track marks, open sores, or being passed out in your own piss. There’s already plenty public info on what happens to people trapped in addiction, so suggesting a make-up company get a clue isn’t trying to hide anything, but rather stop them from undermining the message that drugs are bad and will ruin your life and possibly the lives of your loved ones.
For former addicts, they're advised to avoid people, places, things that remind them of when they were addicted to help prevent them from relapsing. I wonder if seeing an eyeshadow named with a drug-use related term could trigger them. If so, this type of naming could be pretty dangerous as I don't think most people would expect a connection between drugs and makeup.
This was so much fun to watch. Please do more videos like this. I loved the surprise factor of what you were going to pull out of your drawer. As far as American Idol, I was sure that Gabby was going to win and then when it was between Caleb and Maddie, I was sure that Caleb was going to win. Shock, shock! I LOVE that those two are dating. So sweet. They both are such down to earth people and I am sure that all three of the finalist will have great careers!

I remember the first primer I tried (& liked) about 8 or 9 yrs ago, it was the Revlon Colorstay Photo Ready. During that time I also discovered that L’Oréal one “magic something” it was thick & pink & almost paste-like, it came in the little glass jar w/a black cover. I used both of them religiously for a few yrs. 😊

The individual lashes are super easy - I put a plop of glue on my mixing plate to save time - it gets tacky sitting there (no waiting for each lash knot to get tacky). Then I apply using tweezers & a magnifying mirror. For me, this is something I can’t screw up - it comes out great every time 😊. Looks great even when I’m not wearing any other makeup.

My aunt(best friend, 2nd mom), passed away suddenly, I gave her CPR but couldn't save her, I needed to re-home all of her cats, my own 19 year old cat passed away, it's all too much too quick. I love this video! Two weekends ago I reorganized my makeup bathroom and was shocked by all the stuff I found in the back of drawers and bottom of bins. I moved all those things.to one bin and have been using them. Some I understand why I forgot them, others are brilliant and I'm happy I found them again
MakeupRevolution pomade at £4.50 is so brilliant that I will never spend Anastasia BH or Benefit prices for it again!! But the one exception is I do want to try the burgundy kat Von D pomade. Similarly with brow pencils, my faves are NYX and one from Wish for £1, so again, I now could never justify ABH/Benefit priced items for pencils!!!

This is a great video concept. This is actually how I declutter my makeup collection most of the time. I will pick a face of products that I never reach for and actually give them a shot on a day when I'll just be around the house or running a quick errand. It helps to discover new loves and also finally pull the trigger and get rid of crappy products that I've been holding on to because I never got a chance to try them again recently.

OMG I was so happy when they said they were dating! I didn't want Idol to be over yet either. It was a very quick season. Maybe they'll make it longer next year. I guess they would have to pay the judges more though. That could be a reason it was cut short. Plus ABC has a lot of shows coming up.

Yeah, A.I. did go quick this year. I don't think the judges pay was affected by the length of the season though. Katy Perry got 25 million dollars for doing the show. I read an article about it and it said they blew almost the entire budget on her. They thought she would bring a lot of young viewers due to her popularity on instagram. Apparently, Lionel and Luke were pissed because they got a LOT less. Not sure, but I'm guessing it was at the most half what she got. But, even with Katy the ratings were lower than they wanted. The Voice continued to dominate. I guess Ryan Seacrest got 15 million and I think that was also higher than the other judges. Anyway, I thought that was interesting. (But maybe the judges only wanted to sign on for a certain number of weeks, and that's why they eliminated 2 or 3 every week?)
I'm re-watching this now as I forgot what had been forgotten... this is a genius idea, and so fun to watch! Please do more of these Emily!

Out of interest what do you do with makeup you are getting rid of? Do you just throw it away or do you donate it? Sorry if this is an annoying question or if you've mentioned before :)
no problem! I can only donate unopened, unused products to the local women's center & homeless shelters. I have a lot of PR extras that go there. Health codes prevent them from sharing used products with their clients, which I totally agree with. I also set aside some new things to make gift baskets for silent auctions that several local charitable groups hold throughout the year. But if I have products that are used but still "good" (not too old), I'll offer them to family. If I know it's not a good product or just plain old, I'll throw it away! :)

I can NOT bake at all but coty airspun is the worst for me to bake with idk why i have watery eyes but dry undereyes and baking just makes it sooooo much worse lol

I have dry under eyes too, plus watery eye. My problem is that any powder I use gets cakey no matter how much I moisturize that area. So frustrating!

I just really wish that urban decay didn’t celebrate drug culture in their names. I know it’s just a gimmick and they’re not advocating drug use, but it’s just a bit painful considering so many people do lose family members to drug use. SORRY TO BE A DOWNER! The colors are very pretty.

I hear you. Like I said, I know it’s not like someone is going to see the makeup and go “you know what? I think I’ll try drugs.” I just wish it wasn’t so normalized in our society as a whole. I’m coming from a place of pain, not of judgement.
I agree it’s in poor taste. Using that to make a beauty product seem edgy just glamorizes drug culture. There’s nothing sexy about bean teeth, track marks, open sores, or being passed out in your own piss. There’s already plenty public info on what happens to people trapped in addiction, so suggesting a make-up company get a clue isn’t trying to hide anything, but rather stop them from undermining the message that drugs are bad and will ruin your life and possibly the lives of your loved ones.
For former addicts, they're advised to avoid people, places, things that remind them of when they were addicted to help prevent them from relapsing. I wonder if seeing an eyeshadow named with a drug-use related term could trigger them. If so, this type of naming could be pretty dangerous as I don't think most people would expect a connection between drugs and makeup.

As far as American Idol, I was sure that Gabby was going to win and then when it was between Caleb and Maddie, I was sure that Caleb was going to win. Shock, shock! I LOVE that those two are dating. I remember the first primer I tried (& liked) about 8 or 9 yrs ago, it was the Revlon Colorstay Photo Ready. During that time I also discovered that L’Oréal one “magic something” it was thick & pink & almost paste-like, it came in the little glass jar w/a black cover. I used both of them religiously for a few yrs. 😊
