Random Thought:
Not really such a random, off the top of my head thought today... but I just wanted to explain why I chose to take down yesterday morning's video! I know some people may have been confused as to why. The video was on Carrie Underwood's makeup artist Melissa's favorite coverage products. She freely gave me that information in an exchange on Instagram (I didn't dig it up somewhere random) with no restriction on sharing it. It came to my attention that through my video, perhaps I could imply that Carrie or her makeup artist had a relationship/association with the brands mentioned, and in case Carrie is working with any other brands, that could perhaps be a problem. I am obviously not familiar with the world of celebrity beauty endorsements but I don't want even the chance of creating any problems for Melissa, Carrie, or anyone on their team. To be on the safe side, I took the video down and can always provide the basic product reviews again in a future video, as I do think it was helpful information. Thanks for understanding, and I hope you enjoyed today's "make-up" makeup video! :)

Covergirl trublend matte made but it actually has a more Dewey Luminous Finish. It's not thick or cakey and leaves my skin looking naturally fresh yet fully covered. It's amazing stuff, try it out. It's the one in the glass bottle with a black lid, it also comes with a pump ❤️

Emily, I adore looks you do without false lashes! It gives me a more realistic idea of what my eye look would be like if I decided to purchase and use the same products.
Emily if you have ever heard of the Temptalia website- there is something on there called the foundation matrix and if you enter in the brand and shade of a foundation (or a few foundations) that matches you, it will give you a few shades that are close to your skin tone and show you swatches of a foundation you want to try. It helps give you some ballpark shades! Because I am terrible at picking out my foundation, concealer and powder shades whether it is in store or online.

Lash paradise is great for me for like 2 weeks... Then it just gets really thick and gooey.
Yep on the LP mascara. It helps if you pull out the wand and clean it off completely.. but it is definitely a short lifespan for the best performance. Luckily it's cheap especially if you catch a sale. My other favorite single mascara is $35.

Ahh! The L'Oréal Voluminous in the blue shade ALSO has a crazy scent. I had to stop using it! 🌸😵
Go over the stick highlighter with your beauty sponge. It difuses it beautifully and blends it into the skin way better. I never apply straight to the skin with a stick blush or highlighter. It never ends well for me. I heat it up on a finger or dab them onto a damp sponge then apply.

I just bought the Milani Make it Last because of you. I have the new Maybelline Super Stay and I've just been having massive trouble keeping it on my nose, so I've been trying different primers and setting sprays. I usually use the Mac Fix+, and on a whim I tried the Milani. From one day to the next, huge difference. Milani doesn't smell as good as Mac, but it certainly worked better for my skin!

I really like this new Revlon foundation, I mix in a little of the new Covergirl one and that combo really controls my oily skin. The Revlon one is soooo light weight, it feels like nothing on my skin. So far so good!! Love to you, Bub and the sweetie girls!!! Xo

I think any time you put a cream or liquid product over powder, it’s going to give the skin texture. If you put it on before powder when everything is “moist” it will work better.

thank you for showing your melasma and using the word. i looked it up and realize that is what is taking over my face! its been creeping to almost complete coverage for the past 10 years and sometimes i feel like a burn patient with my significant skin discoloration. i have a terrible time finding a full coverage foundation that doesn't just suffocate my skin. i'll try the loreal.

It seems that not too many have been loving the new Revlon foundation, I actually really enjoy it! I have discovered that I get much better coverage by doing one layer with a brush then a second layer with a beauty blender and it gives a nice smooth finish this way. And staying power is great!
I adore stick blushes and liquid highlighters. I can't do matte foundations because my skin doesn't like it. I tried the City Mini's and they were a bust for me. Maybe out of date or something but I took 'em back for a refund/trade/exchange. I'm still hoping someone in the makeup industry will realize earthy green tones (deep, matte and not frosty shamrock) is a color... :) I have so many brown and red versions of shadow that they're blurring into one another now. We need more color choices and grays and greens are sorely avoided... Love your videos Emily! Thank you so much!

Yes - I love the Make it Dewy too! It's great for adding sheen/dewiness (duh) and for melding makeup together and reducing the powdery look (I really really love it over mineral powder foundation) - and yeah it feels different coz it doesn't have as much alcohol as some sprays... it's the ones with the higher alcohol content that locks makeup and makes it last longer but it can also be a tad drying. My skin's dry enough and I don't need 12 hour or more wear, so I prefer the lower or no alcohol sprays. I like the look of that palette, maybe not quite my colours but I like that's it's not overly yellow-orange warm and it's all matte - so maybe it'd team well with some of my other eye shadows. ETA: I've noticed a couple of people saying they got dodgy sprayers on their Make it Dewy - I didn't, mine was just fine, but I have little tip for if you ever do get a wonky sprayer - tilt your head back, spray upwards, and then the mist will fall down more evenly over your face... it works well even when it's not a wonky sprayer since you get a really even coverage (and sometimes you don't need to use as many spritzes of product).
I totally know what you are talking about with the swatches! A few years ago I swatched a makeup forever palette and my younger cousin (she was probably seven at the time) wanted the same swatches down her arm. So I gave her the swatches and she was so excited!

"It kind of smells like my mom." Bahahaha that tickled me so much. I've said that smells like Grandma, etc. So many times. It's crazy how scents immediately take you to another time sometimes. I'm baffled at why anything for the eye would be highly fragranced--that's an allergic reaction waiting to happen.

"AF" Amazing Favorites (Finds) section for beauty TH-camrs: a section in the description box of their favorite products (maybe 2 per category) that they place on every video so that we would easily be able to find their current loves/recommendations.
When I'm standing in CVS, looking at the WALL of brands of makeup, trying to remember what lipstick Emily said was great and I can't think of it for anything... I could pull up any of your videos to see what it was, or I'll screenshot it before I leave home.

helpfulnhappy ... I keep a small notebook and pen handy when I'm watching beauty TH-camrs, so I can write down things I want to look into. I put the person's channel name and the date next to it. That notebook lives in my purse so I can always check it when I'm out.
