i got the opportunity to stay at Sofitel Darling Harbour earlier this month because a good friend of mine accidentally double booked her accommodation. So of course i decided to document my experience for ya!
i loved my stay here. everything from the really comfy bed, their pillow menu, their nespresso coffee and the range of amenities available - a full gym and an infinity pool. i wish i had more than one night here.

Also, I have stayed there on a Saturday night when they have fireworks at Darling Harbour. If you have a city view room you’re pretty much eye level with the fireworks.
Wow that would be insane! There were fireworks during my stay as well but I wasn’t in my room and only caught a little bit of it

freaking love the sofitel! the upper level rooms come with "club" access that's basically snacks, city views, and all-you-can-drink booze. would love to see a video on the shangri-la sometime if you get a chance! or maybe the Hydro-majestic at Medlow bath?

omg just found out a bout you a few days ago and watched the episode about chicken cungee. How did i not know about this dish!!!!!!!!! was feeling very rundown and drained for a fortnight and trudged to the supermarket for the ingredients and made it for us for dinner and literally woke up the day feeling like a new woman. Unbelievable, thank you!!!! Also added this sauce called "chicken rice" OMG
Chicken congee is my go to comfort food; always makes me feel better !
Looks good! For me best luxury hotels in Sydney (at least when I was there) was Park Hyatt and Shangri la (club level). But Park Hyatt is in own league tbh and the breakfast is stellar :)

Ohh sofitel darling harbour looks amazing!!I used to live in pyrmont but never get chance to even have a look inside. Im staying in pullman sydney hyde park this time but if my budget allows me i’d love to stay sofitel darling harbour next time😌

Last weekend
Sofitel is a good brand. It doesn't matter if you're rich or poor, good looking or not, they treat ALL guests THE SAME. Comments like "Aww that looks heavy let me help". Our stay for 2021 NYE at Auckland CBD Waterfront Sofitel was great, perfect vantage point from outside the hotel, for the NYE sky tower fireworks.

Always ask if the food/drinks in your room are complimentary. The fancier places often give you those too.

I remember a story I heard once of a couple who saved for years to have their wedding anniversary on a cruise, to save money they bought soup packets n crackers n caned beans to eat, they ate those for 3/4 of the cruise n decided one night to treat themselves on the cruise to dinner, they asked how much the buffet was for each of them “free, included in your cruise ticket”.
After hearing that story I now ask always 😀.
You never know till you ask.

I've lived in Sydney my whole life but have only stayed at the Shangri La Hotel.
Its great to treat yourself to a nice luxury hotel stay but i sometimes find i feel out of place being in such a posh and fancy hotel.
I think you should do somemore out of Sydney trip reviews as well like a weekend in the Blue Mountains, South Coast, visiting food/wine regions etc.

If I use a minbar I’ll go to the shop the next morning and buy replacements at Woolies prices or local supermarket prices so I don’t have to pay the hotel price. I’m a cheapskate.

Yes please more hotel reviews. More Sydney suburb deep dives anything except that depressing weekly menu you have ( No wonder you think Din Tai Fung amd Grilled are worth gushing about.
Why not do head to head comparisons, Shangrila vs Quay Grand, Park Hyatt vs Four Seasons etc.etc. Oh maybe the different beach hotels and maybe some of the lesser known places too. WBB Hotel at Watsons Bay or the Intercontinental at Double Bay etc. I think your review of the Sofitel was underdone in parts. You didn't cover any of the restaurants or Bars in the Sofitel but went to get Din Tai Fung / Grilled ( Im glad you like that but who goes to a luxury hotel and then has that kind of food? Even the breakfast coverage was inconclusive, sure it's $40 but was what you filmed the entire offering? Most decent packages include Breakfast or even Lounge Access.
Look your videos are not bad by any measure. Hat off to what you've done chasingn your dream etc when I am sure it's not easy coming up with new material week in week out but perhaps cast the net wider. Keep on swinging the camera.....
