You know your videos don't show up in my feed and it wasn't until I was watching Nancy play with her new SNC did I see your video on scanning. I didn't even know there was a plain scanning mat. Clearly, I need to pull up your stuff and get my machine out. It was a great video about doing a shadow around your sentiments. Thank you so much
Glad you enjoy my teaching style. I want to make it as easy as possible for anyone to get the same results. And it also helps me remember when I forget how to do it later on. 😆
I am SO glad that I found your video. This is the first time Canvas has made sense to me. I want to begin making personalized cards and your video is so complete that I can get started immediately. Look forward to seeing more.
I have been looking for a tutorial like this for months! Thank you for this. It is exactly what I was looking for and I am a happy camper. Now off to check out your other videos.
The video is brilliant, just what I was looking to try. I bought a laser printer, but when printed on card, the text smudges. What kind of card do you use please?
I watched your video on using the ScanNCut and your cuts were perfectly aligned! I'm having trouble with my machine - when I use the cutting marks from the ScanNCut Link Plug-in for Adobe Illustrator, the cuts often come out misaligned. I’m creating the cutting marks directly in Adobe Illustrator. Could you please share any tips or settings that help you avoid this issue?
To do everything that I've shown in the video from start to finish you would need canvas and also the print to cut add-on. Looks like you can get it on Amazon now too.
Loved your video. I was looking for a video that showed how to cut around a stamped word/words and found you! One question that I haven't found is how did you set up your 'mat' showing an8.5 x 11 workable area in CanvasWorkspace? Thank you!!
The option for the mat to be 8.5 x 11 is under the Artboard section and then Artboard Size. It's possible that this option isn't available unless you have the Print to Cut activation as well.
Hello Stacy, thank you so much for your video. May I ask where you purchased your print to cut? I know it has been available in the UK but not the US. Any ideas when or if it will be available for US? Thanks
It's been really hard to find but looks like Amazon UK currently has it here: www.amazon.co.uk/Brother-CADXPRNTCUT1-Print-Activation-Card-ScanNCut/dp/B09MLZVDFT/ref=sr_1_1?crid=284TY1FZYAICR&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.StPxXw9zGxvZv4SYqqaJ1Q.DK_uo4Fq9Sty7zAgUnT1k489T352fgsMPmtYa8Ze_cQ&dib_tag=se&keywords=Scan+N+Cut+%E2%80%93+Print+to+Cut+%5BActivation+Card%5D&qid=1712624971&sprefix=scan+n+cut+print+to+cut+activation+card+%2Caps%2C342&sr=8-1
I know it has been a while since this video can out, but I have some questions. I have the sdx225 with the canvas software. I don't have the registration marks or all the different sizes in the artboard. I have 12x12, 12x24, and roll. I also do not have the ability to export to PDF. Are these add ons? If so how and where do I get them? I'm completely frustrated right now with this.
Thanks for this video - answered a lot of questions. I have one more…. How do you cut your foam (or in my case 2-3 cards pieces) when that foam/card doesn’t have registration marks?
If you're not needing the cut to line up with an image you printed, you just send the cut file to your machine as usual and scan in your paper/foam to ensure your cut fits on it.
Hi Stacy.. are you able to create a really thin outline with brother like about .. .015 as I do before adding an offset of .25 in cricut..I have my reasons for asking.. thanks
So this can only be done with a laser printer and not ink jet? I have 2 ink jet printers, one sublimation printer and a 3-D printer.I have no more room for any other kind of printer 😢
You can get Print to Cut add on thru Amazon now and no they didn't change the mat colors but they do have different mats/colors for the CM vs SDX machines and they also have different colors for different types of mats like low tack vs standard.
You can get foam mats in various colors on Amazon. It's called craft foam and it can also have adhesive if you want. The registration mark is from the Print to Cut add on for the SDX machines. It gives you the capability to print an image on your printer and then it lines up the cut file with the image on the mat using the registration marks, like I showed in the video .
60# cardstock as you don't really need heavier than that when toner foiling or for sentiments. have the Canon imageCLASS LBP6230dw - Compact, Wireless, Duplex Laser Printer amzn.to/3UcsF7v
There are certain features that are not available in the online version that have me using the desktop app. Use both and see which one you like more, I like the desktop app more. :)
I came back today in hopes someone answered my question from 2 weeks ago. "Do you have to have a laser printer?" I wanted do what's being done in this video, but money is not unlimited and can't afford yet another printer. I'm hoping it can be done with an inkjet. If anyone knows please share? Thanks :)
Thank you for this demonstration. I don’t have the ability to choose registration mark or 8 1/2x 11 paper. Also, I saved my sentiments but not sure how to get them over to my HP laser printer. When I pull up the saved file on my desktop it takes me back to the CanvasWorkspace instead of the usual option to print. Help! ( unless I’m a lost cause)
If you don't have the ability to choose registration marks then you don't have the print to cut feature. Check out my print to cut demonstration video and there's info in that description in how to purchase it. I believe you can now get it in amazon but it takes a bit to get as it ships from the UK so the instructions on the other video are still my preference. Let me know if you have any other questions and great job thus far!
seriously hard to find in the US but you can find it on Amazon UK right now here: www.amazon.co.uk/Brother-CADXPRNTCUT1-Print-Activation-Card-ScanNCut/dp/B09MLZVDFT/ref=sr_1_1?crid=284TY1FZYAICR&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.StPxXw9zGxvZv4SYqqaJ1Q.DK_uo4Fq9Sty7zAgUnT1k489T352fgsMPmtYa8Ze_cQ&dib_tag=se&keywords=Scan+N+Cut+%E2%80%93+Print+to+Cut+%5BActivation+Card%5D&qid=1712624971&sprefix=scan+n+cut+print+to+cut+activation+card+%2Caps%2C342&sr=8-1
Thank you for this video and I am going to watch it over and over, but need to let you know that you talk much too soft. Can be difficult to hear and understand you. I know this is a common problem on many videos as everyone has different audio recording equipment, but just wanted to make you aware so you could be conscious of it in future. Thank you.
Hello, I'm so glad I found your video about Print to Cut, I could finally make my pages with words, thank you for sharing and learning.

Hello! I'm late to tha Scan N Cut party but here I am. Thanks Tracy!
I enjoyed your tutorial. I will save it to my Scan n Cut play list and see how well I paid attention. Thank you
Your explanation of offset with multiple layers was exactly what I needed. Thank you!

Great video! So is this all just with canvas? Or do you need the print to cut add on?
To do everything that I've shown in the video from start to finish you would need canvas and also the print to cut add-on. Looks like you can get it on Amazon now too.
Great tutorial! I use my silhouette to make sentiments and have the SNC cut them out. My SNC is not connected to Wi-Fi.
It doesn't have to be connected to WiFi, that's just how I have mine set up. You can send it via a USB drive or connect a printer cable directly.
@@SRCreationsFromTheHeart didn’t know that! Thanks!
Great video! Love it!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video very informative. Can you advise what type of laser printer you use? Thank you.

Can you tell me what font you used? I couldn't tell from the video. Thank you.

Very informative , but very hard to hear you.
Sorry about that I'll work on that!
Hi what is the fonts name that you use. It's beautiful thank you
Thank you! The font is called "Austina Script"
When you printed this what weight side of paper did you use. ?
I only use up to 60 lb paper in my laser printer so that's what this was. 80 lb and anything thicker than that has problems in the laser printer.
Love your video. Learned so much. Thank you. May I ask where you got your caddy for the tools on your scan and cut?
Thank you and you can find the caddy on Etsy or eBay.

Hi is the registration mark and print to cut available on cm650 model scanncut?
Thanks for this video - answered a lot of questions. I have one more…. How do you cut your foam (or in my case 2-3 cards pieces) when that foam/card doesn’t have registration marks?
Just remove the registration marks and send the cut file to your machine.
If you're not needing the cut to line up with an image you printed, you just send the cut file to your machine as usual and scan in your paper/foam to ensure your cut fits on it.
I enjoyed your video. How would you do this if you wanted to put it on a paper napkins for a birthday party? With three lines?
You'd need to be able to print directly on a napkin so I'm not sure how you'd do that.
LOve this video. How do you get your registration marks and see the limits of 8-1/2 x 11 paper?
You need the print to cut add on in order to see registration marks.
Hi Stacy.. are you able to create a really thin outline with brother like about .. .015 as I do before adding an offset of .25 in cricut..I have my reasons for asking.. thanks
Yes you can manually type in whatever offset you want.
So this can only be done with a laser printer and not ink jet? I have 2 ink jet printers, one sublimation printer and a 3-D printer.I have no more room for any other kind of printer 😢
Great tutorial. How did you print/foil the card on your desk top?
That's a stamp, stencil and hot foil plate from Pinkfresh Studio called Folk Garden. I used Watercolor paper from The Paper Studio (from Hobby Lobby).
Hi, how do I get print to cut and my mat is yellow outlined also and it's too light for me. Did Brother change it from blue to yellow?
You can get Print to Cut add on thru Amazon now and no they didn't change the mat colors but they do have different mats/colors for the CM vs SDX machines and they also have different colors for different types of mats like low tack vs standard.
Thanks so much for this! How can I do this with a CM900 ? Thank you 😊 I’d seen your comment on foiling snobs 😊
Unfortunately the Print to Cut feature isn't available in the CM machines.
Can you do this if you've got a CM600? Without registration marks
Unfortunately Print to Cut feature isn't available on the CM models.
Hi! Would you be able to do another tutorial with a font that wasn't script? Thank you so much!
Try this video... I don't do print to cut but you can create the sentiments the same way. th-cam.com/video/AG4sYnyMg2U/w-d-xo.html
Where to get the foam mat? Also, what us this registration mark?
You can get foam mats in various colors on Amazon. It's called craft foam and it can also have adhesive if you want.
The registration mark is from the Print to Cut add on for the SDX machines. It gives you the capability to print an image on your printer and then it lines up the cut file with the image on the mat using the registration marks, like I showed in the video .
What paper do you print your sentiments on ? Copy paper or cardcstock? If card stock, what printer do you have ?
60# cardstock as you don't really need heavier than that when toner foiling or for sentiments. have the Canon imageCLASS LBP6230dw - Compact, Wireless, Duplex Laser Printer

Why not use the on-line version of Brother Canvas? The app seem really slow.
There are certain features that are not available in the online version that have me using the desktop app. Use both and see which one you like more, I like the desktop app more. :)
There MUST be a simpler way to do it!
Is it really this complicated? I was so lost. But your sentiments are lovely.
Thanks and there are a few steps involved but if you're familiar with Canvas Workspace, it won't seem so complicated.
