yeah, your break your toes. even if you kick the groin it should be with the ball of the foot. whoever says otherwise just learned it wrong. too many people learn it or teach it wrong (using the toes or instep).
@@Liquidcadmus The toe can be used if conditioned properly. I practice Uechi Ryu Karate and we kick with the point of our toe. I do it every day on my heavy bag. The idea is a lot of force over a smaller focus point. In a real life situation you'll also likely be wearing shoes that would reinforce opting for the toe over the ball of the foot.
@@TheMicahHarris since I wrote that comment I learned more about certain karate styles using the toe for striking. but I still don't think it's the best option. ball of the foot as in shotokan seems the safest way for me.
Has middle section front snap kick changed since making this video? I have been taught to pull the toes back for all heights to use the ball of the foot. Thanks
Pulling your toes back is needed when you try to use this kick against a hard targets. This can be difficult to perform for beginners because of the strength and flexibility needed to pull the toes back enough as to not injure yourself more than the intended target. It is very easy to break a toe if you strike with the toe rather than the top of the foot.

You beat me to it hahaha
I was told that the toes should never be pointed down. They should instead point up, so as to strike with the ball of your foot.
That's what I was taught today. But the kick in the video would be a good nut shot for sure
