People can become sheep and only bend whichever the way the wind blows. I appreciate groups of such enormous talent whether they’re considered “ hip” or not!
I’ve been dying for this song ❤ thank u 😊 please don’t stop here. More Creed…Pity for a dime, one last breath, and what’s this life for. All amazing. Will not disappoint ❤❤
1:58 What I believe he is talking about when he says, "My face showing no emotion." is what has been dubbed, "The Thousand Yard Stare" when someone is so overcome with trauma, pain, and anguish to the point where their emotions shut down to protect their ego...it's very common in PTSD patients and the phrase was coined from a painting of a soldier in Vietnam that showcases the stare in the most haunting way (Just Google thousand yard stare images)...and yeah, Creed is technically a Christian rock group, but they were kicked off a Christian tour or two in their early days for their content...personally, I love this song, Scott Stapp has a very soothing voice...and they're hometown heros for me so I can't help but like them...
@@TheDivayenta In the days before social media they just got the reputation for being soft and sell-outs by many of us in the Grunge, Punk, and Metal genres (Similar to Nickleback)...I was a big Grunge fan, and Creed is closer to Alice in Chains or STP than anything Punk or Metal...so I never minded listening to them...
Omgoodness- I was hooked on this song when it came out. Played it on a loop in my car. Think it was sometime around 98 or 99..? Remember Creed got some flack at the time for allegedly being coined a Christian Rock band... That blew over pretty quick though. Then they had another mainstream hit called 'With Open Arms', or something like that. I saw them at Merriweather Post Pavilion once, it's an amphitheatre in MD. The show was pretty good. Lead singer was sexy af at the time. That's pretty much all I remember about their set though. Creed was just one of several bands that played that show. Good Times. Almost forgot how good this song is, haven't heard it in years. Thanks for the blast from the past @Sceez! 🌀😜🤘
Creed/Scott Stapp is one of my all time favorite artists. I’ve seen Creed 4 times in concert and saw Scott Stapp solo once. His solo concert was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 You need to check out some of his solo music: Justify Slow Su*#%de Purpose for pain Jesus was a rockstar Hit me more Name (prequel to Arms wide open) Creed: Higher Pity for a dime Arms wide open Weathered A thousand faces What if What’s this life for One last breath BTW: TI saved Scott’s life!
Been a creed fan since this song and album debut in 97. I was 10 when I 1st got this album, still jam to it to this day. The entire album a rock masterpiece. Every song hits.
In the book Scott wrote, he tells the story of being in a motel, on drugs, and falling onto the ledge, almost dying. " "Should of been dead on a Sunday morning, banging my head"
This song describes where I was at 2014. I accomplish everything I wanted to do in life and I kept asking myself what was next and couldn’t figure it out,so I got depressed started eating a lot . I went from 215 pounds to 416 pounds,so now back down to 230 pounds. See I put myself in my own prison by abusing myself with food, if that makes sense. That why this song help me git of my own prison.

Creed was looked at by some as a Christian band...idk about that, but there were heavy overtones for sure. I always loved them but a lot of people hate on them and I never understood why. If you want to get your soul touched, check out their song "With Arms Wide Open"
Bro you gotta react to “In my time of dying” by the GOATS Led Zeppelin. Live version is preferred for this one. IMO the best rock performance/song ever
Great job on your interpretation! I do believe that you nailed it! Just as Jesus Christ was nailed to the Cross! God did sacrifice His only Son, to save each and every one of us from our sins. Not to be preachy in any way, but the truth, will always be the truth, and God doesn’t change, or alter anything within the Holy Bible. His Word. It’s our choice in whether or not we decide to embrace, or reject God’s truth, which is the only way to everlasting freedom. The lead singer’s father is actually a minister. So, it’s never been surprising to me to see him write these kinds of lyrics in this song. We ALL create, “Our Own Prisons” in this life, and we become slaves to our sins. Jesus Christ is the only one who has the key to set you free. Choose Jesus 😊
The song is about True justice, or what could be called God's justice. The person in the song knows they deserve their punishment, and they realize God is the only one that can deliver him from Hell.
You seem to know your Bible pretty well. I would encourage you refrain from cussing/swearing/cursing. Ephesians 4:29 tells us, "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths." and James 3:10 says, "Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers, this should not be."
Creed has a lot of religious elements in their music. And they all kick ass.
A beautiful song....who else can relate?

Been through enough stuff to just be still while most loose it. Experience gives vision.
Musically and lyrically brilliant- what’s not to like? Why is everyone apologizing for liking them?

You are becoming one with the broom.
This band was huge for a few years if i remember right...not sure what happened to them...the band split up?
I remember hearing the guy who wrote this did it while in jail
Everyone besides Stapp is in Alter Bridge now.
