We have all sinned and fallen short. THANK YOU JESUS FOR AMAZING GRACE!!!!!We have all created our own prison.....but HALLELUJAH!!! OUR BOND WAS PAID!!!!
No matter how far you are from God and Jesus... praying will bring Him right to your side. My faith has faltered in the past, but it has been reawakened in the past few years.
As a Christian I agree that the gospel was preached in a clever way. This song speaks a whole lot on in regards to the “depravity of man”. Basically what Paul says in a scripture I don’t remember that goes “I do what I don’t want to do, yet I desire it.” Really relatable song to anyone, theist, atheist, etc. if you’re human, this song can speak to you, and hopefully as a by product lead you to Christ. The only answer to all this madness
A lot Creed songs have a Christian message. Even they don't consider themselves a Christian band. Scott Stapp the lead singer struggled with addiction himself his solo album "The Great Divide" has positive messages throughout. He also collaborated on The Passion of Christ soundtrack.
A lion roars in the darkness only he holds the key a light to free me from my burdens and grant me life eternally!!! He can say this wasn't a Christian song all he wants. This is the gospel.
Lead singer Scott Stapp wrote these lyrics down when he woke up from a dream then went and fell back asleep then go with his lead guitar Mark and this is that song! I recommend there song One, What’s This Life For, Weathered, One Last Breath, Higher and Arms Wide Open!
This was a beautiful reaction to one of my favorite songs. This touched me. You are correct Pastor. It’s Jacob the Trickster’s, carnal desires of flesh and Israel/He who struggles with God and his faith. I recently had lost a family member and I kept listening to DMX Lord Give me a Sign over and over for days. I then went to church for the first time in many years and I found a wonderful Pastor and a great community in a new church. Since then, I cannot drink Alcohol. The last time I did was over a month ago and it made me feel horrible and gave me terrible dreams. I cannot smoke weed after 20 years of addiction. The last time I did was also over a month ago and my phone stopped working and when I restarted it, it worked until I took another hit then stopped working again and I realized I was getting the signs that I was praying for. I threw my pipes away, I threw my weed away and I have been praying to God and thanking God every day and night since and in doing so I’ve felt weights lifted off of me that have been following me around for decades. Since then I’m meeting new people, learning new skilled labor trades and getting opportunities to better myself that I have only dreamt about. God Bless you sir. Keep serving the Lord. Amen
❤ this was my favorite band back in the early 2000s. theyre not together anymore but they were really good. they sang about real situations but they were clean lyrics if I remember correctly.. the lead singers father was a Presbyterian minister and didn't like hard rock and thought it was of the devil, but when he read the lyrics to this song it seemed to open him up to it a bit... another good song by Creed is called "Higher" it was one of their more popular hits around 2002. peace and blessings from Ohio 🙏
They are reuniting to play on a cruise this year 2024 they are gonna open for 3 doors down so hopefully they will bring out new music after they do that
Thank you Pastor James, for covering this song. It's my all time favorite from the band Creed, & it was amazing seeing it reviewed from a pastors point-of-view.
Jesus saved me. I constructed my own cell, unclosed myself in it, locked the door and lost the key. My pain was my God until I truly felt God's deliverance and unconditional love. I kept dangling my feel over the edge of a six foot fall to my already dug up grave. I almost dident make it out this time but I finally rebuked the sins and self harming vices that I kept returning to and after all of the damage I caused God still picked me up, dusted me off and forgave me. Remember, we are all a well thought out invention that proves the existance of a creator proned to details which existed long before anyone denied the artist amongst a gallery of seen art. Like an unacknowledged painter presenting his signature on the earths completion but the skeptical eyes themselves also derived of God's design only acknowledge the painting. The very DNA and cell concealing manicular infusion of bridging synapse transmitting information and the development of our minds ability to become multifunctioning computer like machine conjuring the very spirit of accuracy. Like a heart and its will to beat from an impulse of a mind built to desire life's gift and indulge its ability to be sustained.. The essance of any conceived incantation impliments the unseen, detailed and premeditated blueprint of formed flesh, bone, skin and particals flowing through our temporary vessels intelligently designed by the creator. We are redeemed by free will and salvations unseen essance. Like a breeze so untangable yet so undeniable. He is the painter of beautiful sunsets seen and beautiful abiding love unseen. Just because you can't see or hold something dosent mean its not seeing and holding you when you think your just a random accident without purpose surviving without God's steddy gaze and undeniable love to remind you of his presance when your plans become interrupted by uncertainty. God is consistently real, feesable and close to your hearts entrance. Let him in and doubt no more.
Great job with breaking down the lyrics with the correct interpretation. I also believe he did a great way preaching the gospel in a covert and intelligent way.
They are back together! I saw them in concert on Saturday and it was so absolutely fantastic! They look great, sound great and the vibes were incredible! I wish Scott Stapp could see this reaction. It brought me to tears.
Love what you are doing....love how you had an idea for your channel....and being open to His choice for the channel....watching you grow is exciting!!!!
Amen brother! You are speaking the truth! There is only ONE TRUTH! And, that is GOD’S TRUTH! That truth can only be found in His Word. The Holy Bible! 😊
September 12th 2023 4:51 pm EST I am 20 yr of age and I personally have a strong heart for this song and can sing word for word I have lived of sin and still facing my bad karma from my own prison.
This version of the song skipped what I consider to be an extremely important part - "Silence now the sound, my breath the only motion around. Demons cluttering around, my face showing no emotion. Shackled by my sentence, expecting no return. Here there is no penance; my skin begins to burn..." I'm not sure why they removed it from the music video version unless they didn't have the tech to create a believable scene or maybe the TV people wouldn't let them show it...
Creed-> "What's This Life For" ( Is another Good Song thats Spiritual, The ain't here anymore don't have to settle no damn score because all live under the Reign of One King!)
What is so great about this song is how it works both ways, if it is referring to our time on earth or the afterlife. Down here, you speak to God and look for signs of his decision, on sunday you should have been dead (to the world?) banging your head in mourning Christ's sacrifice, but you ain't got no time? Once it's over and you are being judged, you are awaiting Gods decision again, you are looking back and saying that you should have mourned Christ every Sunday, now you ain't got time to mourn what has occurred because you are in hell, you are out of time, now you REALLY ain't got not time. In both cases, they are result of you creating your own prison. All that urgency and needfulness you should have felt down here, you WILL feel very strongly up there on that day, when it is too late. Maybe people should mourn for you, but you could not even mourn Christ? Why should you be mourned for? Also, the prison on earth could be an actual prison and his fate on earth in the balance, a result of his choices.
The album version is longer. For some reason the music video cut off a piece of the beginning which insinuates a man facing judgment after death without being saved.
Its funny you noticed his spreading of the Gospel in the song without making it obvious , i was watching an interview on Scott Stapp the lead singer , and he said that it wasnt until his band was getting questioned from the media about the religious lyrics in most of their songs that his band had to ask Scott what are you writing about. He mentioned that his band was not a Christian band, and also Scott said that he , himself was not living a christian life at the time , but because he was brought up as a christian he felt that it was his calling to tell people about God. Through Gods grace the last 10 years or so he is now a devoted christian and gives glory to God in everything he does.
You need to check out the greatest band ever , Def Leppard . I'll briefly explain why Def Leppard is the greatest band ever but I won't give too much away . In 1984 Def Leppard's album Pyromania was #2 in the world right behind Michael Jackson's Thriller . In December of 1984 after Def Leppard had done an almost 10 month tour . They took a break & went back to England to start their next album Hysteria . On December 31st 1984 their drummer Rick Allen had a car wreck that almost killed him . Now the rest of the band at the time could have replaced him in the band , now here's what makes Def Leppard the greatest band ever . Instead of replacing him , the rest of the band put their careers on hold & kept him in the band & let him recover from his injuries . It took 3 years for this to happen . The character that the band showed to him is second to none . But check out Def Leppard's video Animal & twords the end of that video you'll see why it took 3 years for him to come back to the band . Rick Allen is the greatest drummer ever & you'll see why & agree after you see that video .
If you don't watch the video, and just focus on the lyrics while listening, you'll find that this man is dead, and is giving account before The White Throne Of Judgment. "Court is in session, a verdict is in, no appeal on the docket today (because he never chose to follow Christ, and rejected the Gospel) just my own sin. ....shackled by my sentence, expecting no return, here there is no penance, my skin begins to burn.... Music videos often skew the real meaning of the lyrics, and instead present the story the director wants to tell. The real lyrical story is this man is dead, he rejected Christ while he was living, and is on his way to Hell.
I think this is actually about a lost soul, after it's too late! " Banging my head on a Sunday morning " aka Easter, imprisoned by his own sins and denial of Christ leaving him eternally imprisoned by his own sins. He also says he has no time...eternally it is too late. I think it's just saying if you deny His grace your own sins become an eternal prison of every time we had a chance for His grace and turned away. Eternity is not based on our sin....it is based on simply accepting His sacrifice on the cross and accepting the grace given for our sin based on our one decision to accept His grace. The last line "Ain't got no time!" That one choice is going to either set us free eternally or being imprisoned by our constant knowledge we denied Him, reminded of our sin.
Actually the "should have been dead on a Sunday morning banging my head " was a reference to the lead singer Scott Stapp attempting suicide by jumping off a balcony at a hotel (on a Sunday) and being saved by rapper T.I. who found him.
No, Sir, this is about facing God's judgement unsaved. It is a wretched, heart wrenching song.... "Should have been dead on a Sunday morning" is about Christ NOT being dead on the third day, a Sunday morning after His victory on the cross.
Nice video pastor thank you for your nolage please if you can react to a band call disciple their new album is call honor and glory and song come alive powerful message and gospel
There is no way out for the character in the song. The character is already dead and being judged, it's too late to repent at that point. I cry out to God seeking only his decision Gabriel stands and confirms I created my own prison Already dead. You have to repent before you die.
I don't think they are a Christian band. Scott Stapp had a religious upbringing. I can't remember what it is that he said in an interview. There was a certain verse or certain few verses that has His dad would have him write down On occasion.
i dont know how many reactors i have to explain this to… u chose the wrong version.. this is the crappy radio edit.. it is 4 mins long, the REAL song is 5 mins long, this version cuts out an entire 8 line verse that makes this song great, it is powerful… if u wanna react to the REAL song.. choose a lyric version that is 5 mins long, not 4… this version is crap… reactors always choose the shorter version, that is always the wrong choice… ALWAYS the longer lyric video version is the REAL song for EVERY rock song
Excellent. Thank you so very much. There are so many questions i have i wish i had someone to answer them. I feel that if i have questions that means i dont have faith, but i do have faith . i just dont understand why things are allowed to be the way they are. Why do the wicked prosper and i suffer? Im no angel by any means, ive had so many problems of my own making, substance abuse, but im not a n evil or wicked person. God help me
One of the best reactions I've seen to this song
We have all sinned and fallen short. THANK YOU JESUS FOR AMAZING GRACE!!!!!We have all created our own prison.....but HALLELUJAH!!! OUR BOND WAS PAID!!!!
Preaching that good word. However, It is so true. Christ has paid the debt that we couldn’t pay.
@@Pr.JamesD How can i recommend you a video suggestion? On here in the comments, patron or buy email?
Praise GOD!!!
Yes god said it is done
No matter how far you are from God and Jesus... praying will bring Him right to your side. My faith has faltered in the past, but it has been reawakened in the past few years.
He’s talking about a higher court than man’s! ✝️
*tears* thank u so much. I do love and need Christ in my life.

"Higher" - "Hide" - "What this life for" - "what if" - "Faceless Man"... and so many others songs by Creed!!! My favorite band! S2 thanks to react...
cant go wrong with any of those songs🙏

if he's saying that he's obviously lying which is terrible for him. hope not.
He literally talks about Gabriel. It is christian
God can speak through whomever He wants, even a sinner who hasn’t yet been brought to a full understanding
He said they werent a Christian band, but he admitted his somgs were about Christ

They're still making music! Scott Stapp has a solo career and the other three formed Alter Bridge. Blackbird is an amazing song to check out 🎶

They are reuniting to play on a cruise this year 2024 they are gonna open for 3 doors down so hopefully they will bring out new music after they do that
Check out "In America", very relevant song to what is going on these days, also from the same album.
