It was my friends 21st birthday and he asked if I could bake him a pie. I'm no pie expert, I've always baked cookies and cakes so making a pie sounded a bit challenging for me, but this recipe was PERFECT! I did exactly as followed, the only thing I did differently was instead of having the bananas at the bottom I added half the cream, placed the bananas and topped that with the rest of the cream. I left the pie to chill overnight, next day I added the whipped cream and let it chill until my friend picked it up. We had some of it together and he fell in love with it. Thank you for this amazing recipe! I'm totally going to do it again!
I've only had this pie when I was a kid living in northern Illinois. You are the only person to this day I have seen use the almond slices like we used to get up north. Definitely adding this to my recipe list. Thanks for sharing.
I always make this for the holidays since you’ve posted it and it continues to be a favorite and the best they’ve ever had! It gets specifically requested too
I found this recipe about 5 years ago now and I just wanted to say THANK YOU! I first made it for my dads birthday (Valentine’s Day ❤️) and now he requests it for all the major holidays. I double the recipe, use a graham cracker crust and toast my sliced almonds but everything else I keep the same! This is definitely a recipe we’ll use for years to come 💛💛💛
I made this pie for like the 10th time since you released this video. I always get compliments from it. But this last time I made it for a friend. Last night he told me it was “the best pie ever!” I pipe the cream like you do too; and he actually thought that perhaps I bought it!😂. Thanks again. Of all the TH-camrs out there, I gotta admit, I use your recipes the most. I appreciate the time you take to share 💕
I made this pie for a party this weekend. I have to say, it was SO GOOD, and everyone loved it!! I'm not very good at pie crusts, so I used a Marie Calendar's frozen pie crust. It came out great! thanks for sharing this recipe.
I have this recipe memorized in my heart, been using this recipe since 2013!! It’s always a hit! This time I want to try something different, because this is a regular custard recipe, I really want the banana flavor IN the custard. So I bought a pack of sugar free banana pudding mix, gonna use around 2 table spoons and see how it works out! My mom likes the custard to be banana flavored so I figured why not give it a shot lol
Thanks for the recipe it always turns out delicious! I do have an adjustment though.. To keep the bananas from browning cut them in half long ways and put them directly on the pie crust with the inside down.. I made my pie 3days ago and am now on my last slice and the bananas have not browned yet! Also I used bananas that were barely ripening with little to no sugar points. Hope it helps!
You're my favorite chief. Seriously every recipe you just make is amazing, clean, easy, and clear . Even though I get a lot of good compliment about my cooking but everytime I do one of your recipes I feel so confident that it will be just perfect and ofcourse I end up with can I have more of that? And how did you make it ? Great recipes good work chief
Thank you so much crouton crackerjack this has been my go to recipe for two years or more. My whole family loves them and whenever I take it to a party or gathering everybody's always complementing me and it's all thanks to you :D.
It is! Much better than instant pudding poured on top of bananas in a graham cracker crust. Although there's nothing wrong with that either but not a real banana cream pie in my mind. ;-)
I find your videos very easy to follow, you explain things well for challenged cooks like myself. I made the lemon bars and they were a huge hit!!! thank you.
Wow...this looks amazing. really like a lot how you decorate your pie. looks very fancy indeed. thank you for the recipe. now I know what to do with the ripe bananas apart from making banana bread. awesome ! 😄
Glad I found this video... Your pie crust looks fantastic, and your piping is beautiful! Banana cream pie- one of the many cravings I'm having so far, and def gonna follow through on this one! Thanks~
I made this today. I'm experimenting with different versions of this recipe so this is my second attempt at Banana cream. It's currently it's setting up in the fridge but so far it looks fantastic and the pudding came out perfect. :D
Thanks for the video and I love your piping and decoration on the pie ! This looks really easy last time I used a recipe of google and I made this but it was much more difficult ! But thank you for this easy recipe !!
That pie looks delicious. Though I wonder how long does it take for crust to get soggy? I worry refrigerating overnight would make the crust soggy. Is the crust still fine after overnight?
I've never had a whole pie last long enough for the crust to get soggy. Most I think I've ever had one around is two days and still no soggy crust. Now if you used an instant pudding or something that was really wet then I could see it but this homemade 'custard' if you will is rather dry and doesn't soak into the crust.
My comment was delated :( so here we go again... I did it and the flavor was just amazing, but it didnt get hard! It was just like a watery pudding, i dont know what i did wrong... By the way, i love all your recipies, im your fan! Hugs from mexico!
Thank you for this recipe I made two of these for thanksgiving yesterday and they turned out great but one thing is that the pudding was not like pudding it was like Jello it was still good but I was wondering how do you make it creamy
So I tried this recipe today and I accidentally used all purpose flour instead of sugar. It was all gloopy. LOL! I redid the filling & it came out perfect :)
I'm sure you can get burned out doing something like that. I used to work at a pizza manufacturing plant and after I didn't work there any more, I could not eat pizza for several years. :)
I did it yesterday and the flavor is just amazing, but i dont know why it didnt get hard :( it was like a watery pudding! I dont get what i did wrong... By the way, i am your #1 fan, i love your recipies! Hugs from mexico!!
Wow I love to watch ur channel... But I have to say this video and the dutch apple pie r my favorite.. they LOOK so Yummy... :p so I just had to subscribe.
Love your videos!! What kind of whipped cream are you using for the topping? It seems like certain ones change the the flavors in pies sometimes. Thanks
Jason ,I could try make this Banana Cream Pie. I don't know how to make a Pie Crust so is it alright if I use the pre-made Pie Crust? I could make the filling just like your recipe for Vanilla Pudding and let it cool for 45 minutes to 1 hour and get the Bananas ready to fill the bottom of the Pie crust and pour the vanilla pudding over the top. And I'll put it in the fridge for 4-6 hours (Overnight is better when I plan to make it at night). Top with Whip cream and Sliced Almonds. Will that work with you?
I've been making this pie for at least the past 5-6 years for Thanksgiving. Everyone loves it and want more - every time. Thank you 😊

I made this and it was a huge hit!
I added a tablespoon of vanilla though, and a teaspoon of banana extract.

Did this yesterday and I love it. Change some things (1/2 of sugar instead of 3/4. 4 egg yolks instead of 3). So happy I found this recipe

Looks delicious, thanks so much !
Nicely done, sir!
Love It, I just made it thank you for sharing
No because icing sugar (also known as confectioners or powdered sugar) is not pure sugar. It's a mixture of sugar and corn starch.
I am making this pie now, do you think I could add a tea spoon of rum after adding the vanilla, or would it ruin it? Thanks for the recipes!
KoolViking3 - yes, you can add it. I make this, called pudding, as cream for my cakes & I love to add 1-2 tbsp of rum.
My comment was delated :( so here we go again... I did it and the flavor was just amazing, but it didnt get hard! It was just like a watery pudding, i dont know what i did wrong... By the way, i love all your recipies, im your fan! Hugs from mexico!
Sorry about my bad english :S
+Ruth Hernandez Maybe you didn't cook the cream long enough to thicken up. It's just a thought.

Great Video!! Thanks for sharing. Do you have a Chocolate Cream Pie recipe?
Beautiful BC Pie!! Are you a professional chef?
Former pie maker for a few restaurants actually. Glad to leave it behind and only do pies for the holidays now for friends and family. :-)

Hi Crouton Crackerjacks! What if you put Meyer's Rum in it? Do you still use it with vanilla too? Measurements? Thank you!

What piping tip did you use? It looks delicious by the way. ^.^
Jason ,I could try make this Banana Cream Pie. I don't know how to make a Pie Crust so is it alright if I use the pre-made Pie Crust?
