Great job explaining the steps! I made a couple of videos for this sound in Sytrus (where I think I nailed it) and 3osc in FL studio a few years ago. However your video quality is much better and more concise here

I always just made it with a sine wave and then applied distortion / started screwing around with dist and filters I never know exactly how to do it but i always manage to do it

Great job. The original sound used on the record was just the 'Wailing Guitar' preset on the Roland JD-800.

They used Roland TR-303 on which was much easier to achieve this sound. They also used TR-808 and 909.
