First off, Cerise Castle is the GOAT. Thank you, Amanda, for spotlighting her work. Her investigation has corroborated what I've always had a feeling about. Growing up in south FL I knew something was up. Also, I'm getting a clear picture of what's taking place in Atlanta with Cop City.

Love this episode and happy someone is focusing on this…being from Long Beach California and interned at a few departments yes we have always been told the police are gangs and understand their power…the main thing they are taught is discretion “or it’s up to you” and there are no consequences…like she said nothing is done

This gave me chills. I felt fear, helplessness and optimism all at the same time. This can be a whole ass movie and Cerise the main character! Why are we not talking about this more?!

This was great to hear. Coming from a family with a history of being in Southeast Asian gangs from California and the Central Valley, this information was very reinforcing. People truly don’t understand the systems at play and how much burying is done.

The deputy gangs have been known since the late 80s and early 90s, specifically the Lynwood Sheriff's station where the Vikings operated. Sheriff Sherman Block was in charge back then. It was a big scandal and they closed the Lynwood Sheriffs station. Sheriff Tanaka was a young deputy who was a leader in Vikings, later ran the Sheriff's dept along with Baca, hence theyre in jail now and the members of that lynwood went on to become leaders in ther sheriff's station, hence more deputy gangs have proliferated since then. There was a blog that documented the info over 10yrs ago.

Well, it’s like how you’ll have a trend with people saying racism isn’t as bad. Yet, still trippin about Nazis. I mean there’s still a common denominator here. Not to mention a record linking the common denominator.

This was REALLY GOOD! Thank you Cerise for sharing your story & for all that you’re doing for the LA Community. I learned about the LA Police Gangs before moving to LA. When I briefly lived in South Central LA, my neighbors informed me of where not to go & to be aware of the LA Police gangs. This is some real ish! Thank you Amanda for this episode! ❤❤❤

Loved this one, and so many others. Thank you, Ms. Seales! I have experienced police violence through lack of action, i.e. investigation, and attempting to paint me as the crazy loud black woman, an being ignored when I pointed out to their bosses the police gangs- of all the cops covering up for each other and telling lies. This makes me feel seen.
Weird question: Why is the word "rape," being muted whenever she says it? While it is a triggering word, so is the brutality and lack of assistance experienced by POC folks at the hands of police.

This is who is protecting and serving the community.
    Cerise is a fckn icon.
*I live in a very surveilled area of Los Angeles. There are a lot of new (uskkk industrial colonize complex) military hand me down weapons given to local departments. This includes “dog” robotics and drones. I wonder how these killers utilize this technology and if Cerise has word of a cop city like future headed for us too.
In the undoubtable biopic I can’t wait to see, “who should play her?”
