@@toninocars The GR Yaris is a great car and captures some of the spirit, but unfortunately it's nowhere near as raw or powerful as the old Evos. All models were just a small mod away from 400hp plus.

Hi Mat! I've been watching your videos for about 2 years now never have I been happier than a Carwow notification for a new video.
The VW dont have a V6, they have aVR6. This is a big different. Only the germans built this anwesome Engine. And its Sounds much better than a V6 Engine😌

Well made point of VR6, debatable whether it sounds better but that's more down to exhaust balancing rather than engine - a V6 can sound like a VAG VR6 with small changes

7:40 the Evo 8 ended production in 2004/2005 evo 9 was from 2005 until 2008. so the FQ400 evo 8 was 2004 or 2005. The evo 9 was only made up to FQ360 trim.

@Add - J Not that easy I'm afraid. They need to find and implant the embryo into a suitable host, which isn't easy. Currently they're trying to bring back the mammoth using an elephant and that's proving difficult so far.

2005 m5 was absolutely amazing just a shame that there’s stupid high running costs, saddens me that there’s loads of hybrid and electric cars coming about and all these regulations are ruining the potential to actually have some good cars on the road
I remember when we’d all turn our noses up at the auto versions of the performance cars we owned (Supra, anyone?) because they were so much slower to accelerate than a skilled driver operating the clutch and gearbox. Now, try to keep up with a Porsche PDK transmission in a manual version of the same car: good luck!
Yep, you needed a high stall converter put in. Also they had less gears than the equivalent manual, now its the other way round.
That‘s why I recently bought a 6 speed BMW E92 330i .. the last 3 series Coupé with a 6 cyl. naturally aspirated engine..

The M135i is super fucking ugly cause it’s mainly front wheel drive. BMW can get away with it cause the only people buying anything less than an M3/M4 are middle-class/poor dads for their college daughters they hate. 😂

I had an evo ix FQ340. Best handling car I've ever owned. I would jump at the chance to have that car as a 2020 version if it could be made today.

In the end of 2018 I've bought new BMW M140i when I learned BMW is going to replace it with m135i. I enjoy my every car trip since then :)
This is exactly why I bought my manual M140i as could see that big engined cars were disappearing, especially the manual ones. Absolutely love it, the sound of the straight six, rear wheel drive and the manual box all make for a great driving experience.
Can’t agree more. I have an f20 m135i and the sound and power for the money just can’t be beaten. I’d say it’s a future classic but with the inevitable ban on any petrol cars (new and 2nd hand eventually) I’d savour it while you still can.
So glad I got my M140i earlier this year. Absolutely love the thing!

Rx8 lasted till 2012 so it's the last car to be fitted with a rotary engine. Also isn't audi still making R8 with the v10 engine so lambo may not be the last company to use it

They’re still around, just not in supercars, which is just as well because supercars are getting too fast to enjoy a manual in. Shift sticks are in hot hatches now, which in my opinion, is the ideal car for a manual because they’re not as fast. so weeping goodbye to manual supercars may not be such a bad thing...
The people that buy supercars now though aren't the same, people just want to be seen in them to say they have a supercar, not sure actual driving is really top of their list of priorities.

He obviously knows close to nothing about cars, having only driven a CLS bought with youtube money before. He surely wants the 'rarri or lambo for even more clout and basic Instagram pictures, nothing more. I'm willing to bet a penny on that.

Gordon Murray did a MT supercar. Britain got the Evo X FQ-400 with 403bhp although in very limited numbers.

Matt, loving all of the content that you are pumping out, in the absence of a decent car show on TV (yes i am looking at you Top Gear) this really fills a gap and has even perhaps created a niche in the process. How about a change of pace and having a drag race with the slowest cars on sale today, nothing like hearing a tiny engine thrashed to within an inch of its life for comedy value. The video is incorrect! There are manual supercars being manufactured today, such as Gordon Murray T.50, Aston Martin Vantage, Porsche 911 GT3 Touring (not yet revealed) and the Singer-Williams DLS wich is also air cooled.

I love the MK4 Golfs. Even today think they still look good. Kind of a timeless design. I’d give anything for an R32. But unfortunately just isn’t practical. Prices are definitely on the Up and definitely not a practical car to run on the daily
