I found the quiet place! When I was there in 2005. I didn't get in though, but I saw a sunflower growing out of the wall. It was cool.

Graduated from York 2 years ago. Got to admit, I only knew about 2 or 3 of the secrets. Also, the observatory had been upgraded when I was there.

The water tower is owned by Yorkshire Water and is used as little more than a storage facility. The area used for storage was built for that purpose ever since its opening day in 1957.
I visited the Borthwick Institute for Archives yesterday, and after seeing photographs of the building's interior, I can confirm that there's nowhere else within the building that would provide suitable set-up for a base of operations.
Yeah, York is a crazy party school, you'll fit right in.
really enjoyed this - thanks for making me aware of the places I miss. I shall be arriving at the Uni tomorrow to set up the Citizens Advice annual conference....will definately go and check out the Quiet Place -sounds the ideal place for a conference manager!
