As someone who grew up with Outkast on the radio, and played flute in Junior High, this makes me so nostalgic and happy. I love that as time goes on, more and more artists are feeling comfortable putting out the music they want to, instead of always catering to the record companies demands. That's how the real art is made. I'm so excited to listen to this album now 💜

Interesting to say "word heavy," I hadn't thought of it that way. I listen to talk shows, podcasts, audiobooks, and sometimes complex music that I'm trying to decipher. I'm fully aware that I hardly let my mind rest during the day 😂 Every night for decades I play Steve Roach ambient music (admittedly I'll still watch a movie maybe, while playing the ambience in the background) but in general, I love having slow, flowing, sometimes tribal music to just relax to.
Love Andre 3000. He's the GOAT. Also have to show Colbert some love for giving Andre the chance to articulate his ideas despite some brief moments of thoughtful dead air. Great clip.

I get the impression that fame has not affected Andre in the slightest. He seems so genuine and down to earth for being one of if not the best to ever do it.
I remember "Snoop Lion" and I mean, that dude is great at marketing. But I watched André's performance and that felt far more authentic. He isn't changing his image, he isn't trying to sell more merch, he even put a warning on the album to let unawares know it's different. This is clearly a work of passion and experience, not of anythinnnnng else.
I've been resisting listening to it. I couldn't get it out of my head that he wasn't rapping, then on Saturday my playlist chose him right after my meditation and it was beautiful. I listened to the entire album. I was actually a little sad it ended. Afterwards I sat in complete silence and just felt the residual energy of the moment. I'm looking forward to having another moment with it and seeing what it evokes within me again.
Andre is super attractive, original, artistic, and is discovering the flow of his mature and introspective years. It's so good to see an artist change with years, and not try to fit into what the next generation wants.
Always liked this guy. But this is a new deeper level of respect. Why would any person who has done what he has done not just follow their own path? How much money and fame does anyone need? It brings you nothing. This guy has decided to do what he actually loves. It's so sad how unique that is. I also think he might end up doing very well out of this. The album is excellent by the way.
Andre is the type of guy, that if you didn't know who he was and you saw him on the street, you would know that he is a famous hip-hop artist from the looks.

You literally just blow across it like blowing over the top of a bottle. The flutes Andre is playing are more native/ethnic, but also probably have no reed. Just clearing up Stephen's (and anyone else's) misconception.
Andre has been through some rough stuff, and I think you can see that in his demeanor. I can only imagine the stress of putting out a new album compounded by it being a different genre than his fans are used to, has got to be making it even more stressful. He is such a talented musician, I am sure he is making some great flute music. I look forward to watching his performance next.
