As a 44 year old I can completely identify with Andre. I spent 20 years of my life in one career. Explored that career and feel like you've reached the pinnacle of your performance in that field and are looking for the next stage of peace and happiness. I can identify Andre
Same, just turned 45 a few days ago & that's PRECISELY thee position I've found myself to be in over the last 3 years. Moreover, I've felt like I NEEDED A TOTAL LIFE CHANGE, so I began with moving in August, into a more comfortable, quiet, peaceful area, in a newly built, huge space & that alone encourages & propels one to get on the journey that ur spirit is craving & calling for. I pray we all get to our new goals & ultimately to that place of peace, joy, fulfillment & ultimately, oneness w/the Creator.
@getrichtothis1585 It most definitely is. Of course just with having a good, sound mind & conviction, life will call you into making "big" changes even in one's 20's & 30's. I believe tho, that when you've reached Middle Age, having had 2 whole decades of adulthood to arm you with experience, knowledge & wisdom & also knowing just how FAST those 2 decades flew by, I believe it makes you look at things more deeply & the changes needed feel urgent, as you no longer have time to waste, hoping things will just fall in ur lap. By this time you overstand that YOU are the driver of ur ship, w/the Creator as the Co-Pilot, so the wisdom & experience you've gained becomes the road map to total peace of mind & spirit. Wishing you all the very best this life has to offer🙏🏾.
Some people reach a financial freedom only to buy more “stuff” , 3000 reached financial freedom to stay free and do whatever he wants and not care about what others think. That’s true freedom.
And shop at the outrageously pricey Erewhon market. The same ole Driscoll mass produced organic strawberries are $11! 😂. I love and respect Andre 3000, have since ATLiens, but that made me giggle him running into other now rich and famous musicians in there. It IS very California.
This interview popped up in my feed. Clicked out of curiosity seeing "OutKast". I'm a 64 yr old, not real cool. I LOVED this interview❣️❣️ I felt like he was describing a meditation experience as he created music. Just everything he talked about fascinated me. 🤗 I'm a new André fan.❤
Great interview. I love that the interviewer met Andre where he was and was open to hear about the journey without judgment. He seemed engaged and fascinated, which added up to a memorable conversation.
If you aren't familiar with Anthony Mason, I'm actually a bit jealous bc now you can binge on his past interviews! I've enjoyed his interviews almost 20 years. He doesn't strike you as rock/rap fan but he has sincere fascination with each interview. I feel like he was the driving force for CBS and these interviews.
The part where he says, "people are getting angry so I'm trying to figure out why." That statement alone speaks volumes on who he is character wise. Instead of being combative he's intrigued and wants to understand. 3k is a very unique and special person. because they want Outkast! they want bars from 3000! its ridiculous the expectations people place on others and not themselves, I admire Andre for being adventurous to explore his interests even if they won't make him money and keep him popular. I love ambient music anyway, check out sounds of the dawn channel on youtube for amazing ambient tapes
This is what inspires him as an artist, you don't have to like him or dislike him, he's an artist, and art is about expression or feeling not following what people want you to do or to follow trends. This is coming from someone who wants him to rap again.
3 stacks is such a deep individual. Being from the south, Milledgeville Ga to be exact. Living in Atlanta. It’s an honor to be from the south when you have a Legend like this from the same turf!!!
Totally agree. He has evolved to another creative place in his life and I respect that. He may one day rap again, but when he’s ready and when he feels he can be purposeful. His maturity and the way he articulates his current creative purpose is so admirable. Blessings to him, and I support him 100%. And to top it off, he’s aging so well. I admire that he is aware of his personal evolution and that he is no longer the same person who created those raps songs all those years ago. A true artist understands that it’s all about being present. Being in the now.
It depends on your taste in music. Not everyone is going to enjoy jazz or flute music. I haven't listened to it myself yet, but I've heard pieces of it. I don't doubt that it's a good album! I'd rather hear a hip hop instrumental album from him, where he could incorporate different flutes. That would actually be pretty damn cool!
Could never tell tho they work well together and styles may change sync up or even switch between the two,,,they are both flexible and creative artists that are still connected and can feed off of one another,,,still brothers even over time and distance... definitely would love another OutKast album
I walked down my regular high street in London one day, and a Chinese man was sitting down playing a flute 🪈, that walked turned into a soul lifting stroll, and I literally never saw him again, but never forgot that moment. The flute is something special.
I love and respect Andre 3000. His artistic output in the world is nothing short of Genius. One half of the greatest hip-hop duo of all time. His iconic guest verses. There are simply not enough words to explain the greatness that is Andre 3000.
Flutes are my favorite instrument, I love that he's branching out, trying new things and shattering expectations while introducing people to woodwinds.
So happy to see Andre 3000 feeling happy and doing what he loves. Man is super humble and deserves nothing but the best. His works are just absolutely wonderful too.
I had no idea this man is such a big nerd, and I do not intend even one iota of denigration toward him. Mad props to Andre for finding his vibe and his path 🤘♥️

I'm so elated for Andre' 3000 (3 Stacks) Benjamin! He is a GENUINE artist who is BRAVE and UNEXPECTED! His fearlessness is AWE INSPIRING! Great interview! ❤🎵 🎶 😁
This album was needed. It’s healing to hear with all the stuff going on. Also, to show it’s ok to do something different from what people expect of you.. .. or even showing people there’s no rules to life. Definitely inspired people. C.S. Armstrong flipped the GQ washing machine video & made an amazing beat. Sampled his source award response. Inspired him to do it before the album dropped. Lupe Fiasco also rapped over the first track
He can do no wrong… love him and his authenticity. Being your own person despite how others perceive you or want you to be…. Keep doing you 3 Stacks!! 😍😍😍
Our Ancestors' greatest dream. Total freedom. Congratulations, Andre. You are loved.

Andre, much respect to you. Live your truth and no one else's. You cannot stop the judgmental people from judging. That is not what you are here for. God has a plan for you and each day you are figuring it out. Stay true to you always!
The man is just free flowing, free glowing , like water ! No particular place to go , willing to take on form , yet vital! Necessary and life giving , Thats enuf!!! Thank u Dre!🙏🏿 blessings beyond
I love that André wasn't afraid to admit his uncertainty about certain aspects of his journey. My man always keeping it 100. There's nothing wrong with saying "I don't know" to certain questions because some things in life are hard to articulate.
He always gives the greatest, most interesting interviews!!!! Also, shout out to the interviewer for making it a point to try to dig deeply into this brilliant mind by asking complex questions.
How can anyone not love Andre 3000? He is one of the few musicians/artists that you can tell loves his craft and art forms. I will say that when I look back and realized I’ve been listening to him and OutKast’s various projects for 30 years I feel old as $h!+
Andre just seeking the meaning of life. He did the young wild and free in the OutKast days. Now he’s a grown grown man. He is past his average life cycle. He is closer to the end of life or death as opposed to 20 years ago. So life looks different now and time is becoming a scarcity. He wont get anymore so now he has to be intentional with how he uses time. Definitely can’t use it to please everyone. That’s what I perceived from this. P. S. Andre…seek YAH and you will find life brother. Shalom!
Andre has matured into such a BEAUTIFUL BEAUTIFUL SPIRIT OF A HUMAN BEING......it's so super attractive ❤......that he's is not trapped in time from his high school days or college days like most humans are.
What's more organic than something coming from the soul.... That's why my brother can never lose....🔥💯.... I'm a day one Andre fan since Braves jerseys and waves....💯🔥
I love the fact that when the interviewer mentioned are him and big boi still close with no hesitation he said yes absolutely and he also mentioned that big don’t pressure him about an album instead he supports him as a brother and close friend not as another person in a rap duo group
good interviewer, I appreciate when the interviewer actually listens to whats being said instead of waiting for their turn to speak. I regret never seeing Outkast live. definitely one of the most important bands of my life.
Life is a trip. Imagine making an entire album without really knowing how to play the instrument. I love his soul, but I really hope he gets back to rapping and stops, listening to the younger generation. I’ve been saying for 20 years that we need a rapper in their 50s or 60s so the art form can grow. People make regular stuff interesting all the time.I know he can do it
I find it truly honorable that even with all the "wants" he is committed to doing what feels best and most free to him. As an artist or creative. That is the key to true peace of mind, in a crazy world.
He's evolved from that dude he once was. I love that he's embracing something different. He's still that dude though, even though his rhymes have turned into thoughts in an interview... He's still that dude. I'm happy just to get a glimpse of him in whatever way he chooses to bless us with. 🤎
This man is what he does and acknowledges the beat that goes with it, I call it breathing. He has a natural praise and reverence for just being. I admire the nature of his genius which comes with his inlook on life. A beautiful soul, thank you Andre 3000 for sharing.
This man reminds me so much of my father. He's an African man who moved to Sweden. I really wish they could meet, I'd enjoy just listening to that conversation.
If these words can reach him, I am deeply and humbled to hear his simplicity about music and evolution. You given us more than enough in the hip hop live on and highly respect. Your journey in this current ERA is deeply admired and appreciated. Both is the the artist who is still a human being at their core.
You’re brilliant Andre 3000! The cycles, positioning and seasons are ALWAYS artistry! We adore and value the artist in you. You say “I don’t know”…You surely know much Sir…🤎🙏🏽
Craziest thing is that his little mention of not having the flutes perfectly tuned to 440 Hz made me go out and write a song just from an initial 440 hz sine wave. Really tangential but the point is that he's so tapped into the creative energy in the universe it spreads through this little screen to millions of others
Love him! Being true to yourself is being a true artist. You have achieved your goal of inspiring others many times Andre! Congrats and thanks for being a wonderful example for others ❤️
I love that Andrea explored and found this form of music to express himself. I love him as a rapper and outkast. However, hearing his new album also helped others discover something beautiful new. Keep being creative.
Great interview! Generation X is in our late 40's and early 50's, so we're facing mortality and experiencing a phase of reflection and self-discovery. It's fascinating to me how Andre is prioritizing the search, the questioning, the patient exploration of self...while other Gen X hip-hop artists like Nas, Latifah, D Nice, and MC Lyte are prioritizing output, commemoration, innovation, and legacy-making. Neither is right or wrong, it's just interesting to watch how they process this unique stage of their lives. I believe that Andre will inspire artists to be more authentic to themselves, while Nas and others will inspire artists to get back in the booth. Meanwhile, there's an entire spectrum between those extremes and I'm excited to watch it all unfold!
I'm thankful that I had the opportunity to grow up WITH these TWO! I appreciate and value Big Boi and Andre's OutKast legacy! Thank you guys for Whootie Who, Spotieotiedopalicious, ATAlien, Rosa Parks, Spaghetti Junction, Speaker box, The love Below, Idlewild, I can go on and ON! 💪💙
This is amazing I can totally relate to his journey, letting his feelings and life changes guide the way, and fully embracing it, it’s truly a beautiful moment ❤
I love that when asked…”you and big boi are still close?” Dre answered “fa sho!”… his response spoke volumes…the lingo “fa sho” told me Dre is still Dre and secondly it told me that he and Big boi are forever brothers
If you have been a musician for a long time, discovering another aspect of music that you have never experienced is like becoming a kid again and feeling the magic. It’s just fun. I love that he is so happy doing it. It is inspiring ❤
So, I appreciate Andre’s honest, sincere nature. His spirit is refreshing. It’s in his voice and in his eyes. I have to be honest though, I feel as though some of the questions were more of a psychoanalysis perspective rather than a music journalist learning about an artist. Even so Andre was beautiful in his truth when responding 💗🙏🏽
At first i was so mad because I've waited so long for andre to drop a rap album but after listening to this new album while im working in my official feels so good and relaxing I'm sorry andre please make more masterpieces like this
We need to see more artists like this following idiosyncratic uncompromising directions. People need to get used to that as being normal. I respect him even more for this move. I think the old teachers in jazz and the spiritual black awakening music of the 70s would be proud to hear that they left an impression. He's operating at a level of authenticity and vulnerability that american culture in the 2020s is very much not used to using, accepting, or more importantly respecting.
Love this guy. A true artist who wanted to elevate his craft by exploring other avenues of instruments to express his craft. This is what Hip Hop was supposed to become, but many artists dropped the ball and just let the money turn hip hop into a generic raunchy cookie cutter bull that we have today. He was one of the greats in the greatest era of hip hop. Hopefully, his movement will influence other artists in his caliber to not sit aside and let what is currently happening to this artistry continue. Salut Andre❤

he is a FREE man. I have never seen one before and I am greatful to witness a FREE man.
And you're a free thinker, we need more on both sides
You said it well, “he’s a FREE man” 🎉
He literally did it. He literally went against the status quo.

He’s probably using 432hz look it up
Mad respect for Andre! Always moving forward. What a humbled soul .
Love him! Being true to yourself is being a true artist. You have achieved your goal of inspiring others many times Andre! Congrats and thanks for being a wonderful example for others ❤️
Do your thang 3k. The album is jamming in a different way. The South ain’t mad at you. 🎶💯
I love that Andrea explored and found this form of music to express himself. I love him as a rapper and outkast. However, hearing his new album also helped others discover something beautiful new. Keep being creative.
Andrea ? Lol
This is my baby, I love him so much ❤ He’s amazing and his voice relaxes me🥰🥰
This man has a special place in hip hop / music culture.
Shaped my childhood
I think we will get a rap album from Andre in a few years. I commend him for following his heart and just being on his journey in life.
I think so as well... It's coming
Been a fan since the early 90’s and I’m happy to see Andre at Peace and is happy. Much respect and support for whatever he does 💯!
he has a child with Erika Badu, the musical potential of that child is off the charts!!!
I think their son is a horticulturist. I hope I’m not selling him short, but I believe that was his area of study.
ANDRE 3000 is one of the best. GOD bless you my brotha.
Since tri city high school
It's amazing to see who andre benjamin has become. A true zen master.
I grew up with this guy's music and I support anything he does.
Andre has given me so much musical pleasure across the decades.
I’m a forever 3000 fan. From the 90s until today. I love the journey he’s on. Hope he continues.
I love that Andre3000 seeks the music and the experience rather than the game and still won 👑
If you have been a musician for a long time, discovering another aspect of music that you have never experienced is like becoming a kid again and feeling the magic. It’s just fun. I love that he is so happy doing it. It is inspiring ❤
I like him he is unique and he has evolved i sang for him when i luved in atlanta georgia he was very nice and humble
Andre still spittn bars of knowledge. The goat
3000 has the most AMAZING smile❤
I judged a book by the cover and was skeptical about this interviewer before it started. He was FANTASTIC. I loved this conversation.
Great dude. Always loved his smarts and kindness and obviously his talent.
Humble it’s a thing !
At first i was so mad because I've waited so long for andre to drop a rap album but after listening to this new album while im working in my official feels so good and relaxing I'm sorry andre please make more masterpieces like this
I'm 60 and been into HipHop since its inception and we all mellow eventually and Thankfully. I love this interview, very REAL.
Soooooooo proud of a HUMAN still seeking GROWTH, FUN and NEWNESS without reservation. Make your own way. 😊🥰🙏🏽
Mr. Andre 3000 Benjamin has always been a star in his own light. Much love and respect
What a legend and inspirational man! 👏
A genius, and true artist. He is at Peace.
