The truth: They don’t come with subtitles.
XDXD underrated
*sad anime noises*
What's the point then? XD
I’m gonna pretend that I didn’t see this comment
Thank you, Mr. Principal
An introverts worst nightmare.
True tho
More like introvert escape place
Not really though
I'm a introvert
They should make a room just for those type of people just incase they don't want to socialize
This pisses me off. I speak Japanese. At 2:04 when the subtitles say “They think they can touch my body” that is not what she said at all. She said “they want to sit next to me and drink with me.” It’s disgusting that Buzzfeed would completely lie and twist this girl’s words to just make this video more interesting. Journalism is dead.
Can you type what she said in Japanese? Like in Kana and/or Kanji..?
Thank you for pointing this out.

WTF buzzfeed. The subtitles are VERY wrong. She DOES NOT say that they demand phone numbers and it disturbs her, she just says "sometimes they ask for contact info and that happens often at maid cafes". She also does NOT say anything about sexual stuff She didn't say "Theres some people who mistake it for the sex industry and think they can touch my body'. She said "The misunderstanding is they ask if they can sit with me or drink alcohol with me". Your subs make it seem horrible.
Maid cafes are not a sexual place, in Japan we got hooker shops for that. Maid cafes are not even an adult like place, we got kyabakura and host clubs for that. Maid cafes are just a place where you get people to act weird, draw cute cakes and give you cute drinks. Theres 0% sexual about it. Its not any type of dating service either. It is just like if you were to go to a clown themed place where people dress as clowns, or a monster cafe where people dress like monsters. It is a themed cafe.
Very typical in officially translated things from Japanese.
Y’all make this the most liked comment. Asian culture needs to stop being sexualised!!!
This is what you expect from SJW buzzfeed, bunch of cultural imperialists they are. They don't like Japan becuase they won't bend the knee to them.
Ahh good to know

Kitchen Nightmares: Gordon Ramsey tries out a Japanese Maid Cafe
"wheres the raw sauce"
That would be super cool
I have to see that
Gordon is usually very nice with the ppl that serve the food so it would be cool
He'll dance and sing with them 🤣
I've been in Japan with some friends and we checked out a maid Café... it was the best evening of the whole trip. It was super weird but funny as hell. It is really a fun place. I just can encourage everyone to at least check it out once.
That's the right attitude to have! Be open to new experiences and just go with it!
why?
I've travelled around SE Asia for 30 yrs, since I finished school and was old enough for my own passport. This vid brings back so many memories of situations I found myself in, when things were new, different, or put me in a completely insane comfort zone. Yet somehow a smile, a nod and going with the flow, saw me having the most raucous time. Cringe, laugh, cry all at the same time. It's these experiences that bring smiles to peoples lives, as well as your own. Even when you're just looking back and thinking about it. 👍😉
I love how hardworking these girls are. The dedication is really amazing.
The sad thing is, he’s the only one there.
there was ppl at the back in the dance but maybe it was crew
Lmao
ya they probably recorded it before or after closing
@@alexandrediaz6971 Yeah I think so too. Some of the (regular) customers probably didn't want to be recorded sitting in a Maid Café.
that's cause they booked the place.
The weirdest thing about this is that he went alone
But there was the cameraman though 😆
I went to a butler cafe in Japan with a friend last year, and it was really interesting. Most of the girls there were by themselves.
I think that the concept is especially made for people who are very lonely and come there alone to feel in company and get attention as lonelyness is a big problem in japanese society. There are cuddle-cafes as well where you pay for cuddling with a kawaii pyjama girl...
Lin Swe yah I have been doing my research and that is accurate but I never heard of a cuttle cafe........

@@L._.A-06 yeah they expect ppl to spend some amount of money especially tourist so thats not ideal for ppl who travel with a tight budget
What disturbs me the most, is that people mistake this for sex work, and then think they can touch the girls and be so forward. The problem is that this isn’t just an issue in maid caffés but in all service industries for female employees.

As a Japanese, all I can say is that these “maid cafés” are just for entertainment, I don’t see why men should be interested in going there and thinking it’s a strip club-like place or anything, I just go there to chat with the nice Kawaii girls =3
No one think that is a strip club. It's a cafe with cute maid girls
Of course normal people understand what maid cafes are about, but you have to realise that there are people out there who haven’t been brought up in a way that promotes cultural understanding, they project their own values on everything they see.

I went to Maidreamin when I visited Tokyo for my first time. It was actually quite fun and enjoyed the whole experience. I was not going to go but I figured I might as well see what its all about. The Maids were really nice and respectful and they looked like they were having fun doing the singing and shows while the customers were also enjoying the shows. The food wasn't top notch but it was still good and the Maids with their cheerful energy made it all fun. Would definitely recommend to visit at least once to experience it. You are able to select show/songs from Anime to Jpop to other genre's.

I was thinking that they ought to have some kind of protection like a proctor or similar. He or she doesn't have to be seen all the time. They got to feel safe!! It's hard work and you have to have a bunch of skills to work as a maid.

MioChan It depends, I actually work at a Butler Cafè and the food is kinda good, but we mainly serve japanese food, not sweets, on a side note in many Maid Cafes I visited the food was really good.
In most of case it's horrible and insanely overpriced.
It varies place to place, I've been to a cat cafe in Asakusa and the food was great, but I also went to a gundam cafe in Akihabara and it was not so good.
Ive never been to one and i probably never will, but i heard its super overpriced. Dunno bout the food quality tho :P
