I am so very sorry for your loss. We all would have understood if you took the week off. I need to tell you that this was an amazing piece! You always make it look so effortless. I know that 90% of it is having the right tools and products. Thank you for using the different products, and showing up the correct way to use them. Someday when I'm brave enough, I'm going to paint something bigger than the little magazine stand that was my 1st project a few weeks ago. I bought a jar of DB paint and a few cheap chip brushes. The paint is amazing! I learned that investing in good brushes is a priority, but I wanted to experiment before spending too much. Thank you for letting us in every week to your workspace. You are inspiring many people to try this.

I did the same, played around did smaller pieces, I got comfortable and then invested in a few jars of paint and when I felt ready or that I was really into painting I bought my first brush, you can go to Lowes or a hardware store and grab even a Purdy brush. It won't break the bank but it is a step up from the chip brushes. Then when you feel like you are ready for something even better grab a DB synthetic :) I have had mine for years :) also thank you for your kind words, it truly means a lot :)

Oh no, I’m so sorry for your loss. I had to stop the video because I had to do the same thing to my sweet girl and also my best friend of 15 years not too long ago. I know how difficult it is and I knew too your dog meant a lot to you the first time I seen him in one of your videos while in Germany. I said to myself she really cares about her animal to bring him with her across the Atlantic Ocean. once again, very sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry for you :( it really is such a heartbreak. Yes I love my animals, Zeppelin actually moved to Italy with us years ago then to Wyoming then to Germany. Cannon his little brother is here with us too and he has helped us greatly through this heartbreak.

oooo lol....you can do it however you want. So for this piece though I didn't know HOW I wanted the top to look, so I needed to paint the body to visualize how the top should be. :)
Hi! I've been happily breezing through your videos for the past couple of hours and I'd be so grateful to know where you find all these lovely bronze knobs and hinges, please?
It's out of topic, but I just watched Ralph&Russo fall/winter (fave) I saw several models that had interesting color combinations that also included flowery patterns and thought of your furniture that, if some of those ideas were interpreted in furniture it'd look cute. Though I'm not a painter and my vision may be totally wrong about it :D The color that came out is really lively and vibrant. I wonder how it'd look like if hinges had same color as door knobs.
I think it would look nice also, but for this piece we wanted to showcase the stencil and blending so we were trying to hide as much of the metal as we could. I need to watch this fashion show now!!!
I am so sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences. I am super to knew to all things furniture and painting. I have several pieces that I have stained and not sealed with any top coat. If I was to try this technique, however, would want the dark stain to show through in certain areas, do I need to put something over the stain so the paint will not absorb or can it be left just stained and start layering my colors?
You could just paint over and do the wet distressing and just press hard to get down to the wood or you could use sand paper also and it will distress down to that wood :) also thank you so much :)

I know you probably don’t want everybody to know all the tricks of your trade but I was really hoping or actually I would love to ask if you could have one of your videos or maybe maybe one of your short videos on what to do when after you paint your drawers I have a problem putting them back in what is up happening is the paint from all the different layers gets layered on the size underneath and on top of the drawer and when I’m done with the piece I have a big problem of them filling back in because the pain and up rubbing against the entrance of the drawer I have tried sanding them down but when I was at happening as I stand down the actual paint completely and it makes me very sad because after doing The different blending and getting the sides to look exactly like the drawer and of having to paint it just one flat color because The drawers just won’t fit in the same position they get stuck on the paint especially after I’ve already put a topcoat for protection! So I would really appreciate it if you can explain how to avoid that I do see you that you mostly paint with the jaws in which I also like to do but when you have to do the sides and the top to match and also the bottom I end up taking them out or I pull them out and try to just paid enough so that they look finished because it can just be the front of the door or draw so yes I would really love it if you gave some tips for people like me about what to do with that . Thank you very much

I just LOVE all the colors you use. To the viewers: Am I the only one who would actually jump at a chance to buy colorful furniture like she makes?? All I ever see for sale is boring brown, black or white. 😥
Oh and by the way I did try standing them down after each layer like you guys teach with a Thin 320 or 220 sponge But it still is still does not seem to help

Oh no, I’m so sorry for your loss. I had to stop the video because I had to do the same thing to my sweet girl and also my best friend of 15 years not too long ago. I know how difficult it is and I knew too your dog meant a lot to you the first time I seen him in one of your videos while in Germany. I said to myself she really cares about her animal to bring him with her across the Atlantic Ocean. once again, very sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry for you :( it really is such a heartbreak. Yes I love my animals, Zeppelin actually moved to Italy with us years ago then to Wyoming then to Germany. Cannon his little brother is here with us too and he has helped us greatly through this heartbreak.

oooo lol....you can do it however you want. So for this piece though I didn't know HOW I wanted the top to look, so I needed to paint the body to visualize how the top should be. :)

It's out of topic, but I just watched Ralph&Russo fall/winter (fave) I saw several models that had interesting color combinations that also included flowery patterns and thought of your furniture that, if some of those ideas were interpreted in furniture it'd look cute. Though I'm not a painter and my vision may be totally wrong about it :D
The color that came out is really lively and vibrant. I wonder how it'd look like if hinges had same color as door knobs.
I think it would look nice also, but for this piece we wanted to showcase the stencil and blending so we were trying to hide as much of the metal as we could.
I need to watch this fashion show now!!!

I am so sorry for your loss. My deepest condolences. I am super to knew to all things furniture and painting. I have several pieces that I have stained and not sealed with any top coat. If I was to try this technique, however, would want the dark stain to show through in certain areas, do I need to put something over the stain so the paint will not absorb or can it be left just stained and start layering my colors?
You could just paint over and do the wet distressing and just press hard to get down to the wood or you could use sand paper also and it will distress down to that wood :)

I know you probably don’t want everybody to know all the tricks of your trade but I was really hoping or actually I would love to ask if you could have one of your videos or maybe maybe one of your short videos on what to do when after you paint your drawers I have a problem putting them back in what is up happening is the paint from all the different layers gets layered on the size underneath and on top of the drawer and when I’m done with the piece I have a big problem of them filling back in because the pain and up rubbing against the entrance of the drawer I have tried sanding them down but when I was at happening as I stand down the actual paint completely and it makes me very sad because after doing The different blending and getting the sides to look exactly like the drawer and of having to paint it just one flat color because The drawers just won’t fit in the same position they get stuck on the paint especially after I’ve already put a topcoat for protection! So I would really appreciate it if you can explain how to avoid that I do see you that you mostly paint with the jaws in which I also like to do but when you have to do the sides and the top to match and also the bottom I end up taking them out or I pull them out and try to just paid enough so that they look finished because it can just be the front of the door or draw so yes I would really love it if you gave some tips for people like me about what to do with that . Thank you very much
