Just discovered your channel must say I find the presentation and map info superb .After 30 years in the MTB saddle I finally made it up to the Highlands last year and was blown away hopefully back up there soon to check out some of your routes great work
Hi, thanks for the feedback it's great to know you enjoy the vids. I'm glad to hear you are planning a return here next year, it's amazing and you won't be disappointed!
There's a good wee alternative/add-on to this starting at Inveruglas (where the parking's a lot cheaper, maybe even free?), give about a mile dash up the A82 to Ardvorlich, take a pretty gnarly climb up and follow a lovely track up to a radio mast at the top of the hydro pipelines, then drop down into the glen below the dam, and carry on round this loop. Doing the Arrochar loop clockwise is absolutely the way to go - I made the mistake of going anti-clockwise and going up from Arrochar on the Three Lochs Way path was not entirely enjoyable at times.
That, and the Ardgarten Peninsula, were my first real gravel rides (in persistant rain). They are great fun, if a little technical in places. (By the way, there IS a better route to start that loop - avoiding that rough woodland path). Nice video, as always. If you take the spur, up to the top of the hydro power pipes above Inveruglas, you get an awesome view over Loch Lomond.
Hi mate really enjoy your videos. Was so inspired by this one that i drove up from Glasgow yesterday and did it! Not sure the video truly reflects the Cowal way section? I must have pushed bike at least 2km. Also I started at Ardgarten where the parking is free. Although I did have the same issue as yourself having to push bike up to main path. Thanks for the inspiration! Happy cycling, Brendan
Hi Rusty, thanks for another nice video. I've tried to check out your routes a few times on Komoot (as per 7:40), but every time I get a "This Tour is private" message. Then I think "Aahhaa...I need to be following you to see them". Only problem is, your Komoot username is a mystery ! 🧐
You mentioned the GPX files in the video. I dont use Komoot but dowloaded your last lot of GPX files for my Garmin. Theyre brilliant. Would you consider linking individual files for each route for say £1 each??? Then if people wanted to buy the wole lot at the end of the year it would feel like a bargain! Another great video by the way. Keep em coming 👍
Yes there is a very simple alternative way to miss the hike a bike bit - you just need to stay on the road and not take the path. It joins the gravel track a few hundred metres further on. A silly mistake by myself there :)

Looked challenging in places but fantastic views!
Another great route. Keep em coming! I’d be happy to show you a couple of my ‘local gems’ in the Borders & Midlothian.
Thanks! Would love to ride a route with you, if you ping me a message on FB or insta we can put a plan together 👍

That's an interesting idea about the single files option. Glad you found the bundle useful too. Thanks for the feedback sir :)
Wow that looked an amazing ride, good stuff. Did you or is it an option to tweak the route to miss the hike a bike from the car park?
