I have been able to go off my fibro meds since starting a meat based (meat, eggs and dairy) diet with fruit (mostly berries and apples). I have had a few flare ups but every time I had "cheated", eating vegetables or gluten-free bread/pasta. Within a week of starting it, I was actually sleeping at night so, for me, it was worth it for that improvement alone. But six months later I am practically pain free without any meds. I think fibromyalgia has different root causes for different people so I don't think it's the answer for everyone, but I do think if you're struggling it's worth trying.

Honestly the best thing for my fibromyalgia has been a low carb approach. Keto helped a lot but recently I switched to carnivore and my symptoms are drastically improving. I suspect that certain carbs/sugars make fibro much worse, also goitrogens, oxalates , fodmaps, pesticides and lectins were probably stopping my thyroid and gut from healing. This is all anecdotal but I feel so much better with carb restriction. Also, all of the essential nutrients are abundant in animal products. Meat even has antioxidants and some vitamin c. Glucose also competes with vitamin c so you don't need a lot on carnivore.

My husband is allergic to gluten so I eat gluten free and when I do eat gluten, I notice a difference. I get headaches from gluten. I am allergic to sulphites and wake up through the night coughing and gasping for air. It’s been almost 3 years now and I have not had an attack since I paid attention to avoiding sulphites which are in alcohol, dried fruits, processed meat, shrimp, scallops, potato chips to name a few!

Doctor, all of the seeds contain a lot of oil and all can cause problems for anyone with gall bladder problems, I'm talking from experience over a long period of time. The worst that I have found are linseed/flaxseed and taking a teaspoon of them in a protein shake nearly put me on the floor within 3-4 minutes.
The strange thing is that I put extra virgin olive oil on my food every day and it doesn't cause any problems, but sesame oil causes a really violent reaction.
I can also eat pine nuts, sunflower seeds on your list and some nuts like walnuts and pecans without trouble. Peanuts are fine on their own but not emulsified.
Turmeric is something that I was warned about by my Gastroenterologist, as it is known to cause gall bladder contractions. Apple cider vinegar also causes some problems but not severe, however I don't use it any more as I daren't risk it. These affect me but maybe not everyone.
I love watching your videos as they are always based on sound science and you are such a caring and professional lady, and also suffering yourself from that awful nerve pain.
Thanks again Andrea, and keep up the great work. From a very cold England! ❤
PS, I love cod and herring roe, particularly on wholemeal toast and they as you know are packed with vit's and give me a real boost.

Was wondering if omega oils make a difference in pain management ? Heard conflicting advice about taking omega 3 & not taking omega 6. Could you help shed some light on this please ?
I tried eliminating bread & pastries for a period of time, and it did help improve the pain & fibro fog.

Phd Kathleen Holton has done studies on fibromyalgia and gulf war syndrome which link glutamate to this sort of pain. She gave people low glutamate diets and had great success.
Avoids the flavour enhancers 620-625 and natural glutamates such as strong cheeses (Parmesan, Camembert, Brie and Gruyere), soy sauce, oyster sauce, black bean sauce, tomato sauce, miso, yeast spread, mushrooms, plums and spinach. Also meat that has cooked or marinated for a long time.

What exactly were the "surprising nutrition tips"?? This video told me nothing that was useful. I wasted time listening to all the minutiae re mg of this & that in particular foods - which I highly doubt would affect people's symptoms. She said nothing about fish oil/good fats and their anti-inflammatory properties. If no studies have been done on specific diets for fibromyalgia, then just say so.
