Isabel and Nicki are cute! I love Nicki's collection. I want Nicki's Skateboarding outfit, her vinyl red dress outfit, and the American Girl tshirt for my Addy. I love dressing her up in historical clothing as well as modern clothing. So much 90's nostalgia in Nicki's collection.

I honestly really love them! I think they’re going to get their own shelf in my display. Their outfits have so many fun details, and I’m really glad I got the accessories. I’ve had them for a few days and I still love them at least as much as when I opened them. Maybe more actually haha

It's the worst when a doll has the name of someone you don't like 😆 "Alex" is my pick for renaming her, even though I'm keeping mine as Nicki (I like that name, and don't personally know Nicki's that I dislike hah) They are both really great dolls with nice details, so I think you'll like her after you change her name!

Super late to the review, but I'm really happy to see how positive you are about them. Lord knows I bitch and moan about a ton of stuff too and I think it's really important to let these companies know how you feel, but as someone that finally got my first AG after 20+ years (I thought they made boy JLYs as a kid and they didn't, so I waited and got one of the TMs this past Christmas) it's nice to see someone that isn't angry about them and just as excited as I am, haha. I'm also dangerously close to going buckwild and splurging on the Pizza Hut set and Nicki's chair set for him.
I’m way too mad about too many other things to get mad about dolls (usually hahah). I thought it’d be fun to do a mini-me with a TM but none of them feel right. I prob need a crazy ass götz doll for my mini-me
@@idreamofjonny Yeah, I'm so bummed they trimmed the TM collection down! I really would've loved to see another Asian and Latino boy this wave. I got a 104 and I love him, but I think if I were a kid again I'd definitely be disappointed. Create Your Own doesn't even use the boy heads or accessories either. 😭😭😭
We really want both dolls. But we will buy Nicki first.
They definitely feel like 2 different dolls so it doesn't feel like just buying 2 of the same doll. I hope you love them as much as I do!

Enjoyed your unboxing video. I am glad you really like them. Since I won't be getting these dolls I would love to see a more in-depth video and hopefully you read their books and tell us their story. I am a woman with a twin brother and we don't look alike at all. Glad they made these twins a little different. I was hoping one of the twins would be goth (lol).....maybe next year Nicki will get into it.
I definitely wanna do a couple more videos about them! Honestly Nicki will prob go through a goth phase shortly, since Kittie’s Spit album gets released right after this!

Aw, thanks! I'm realizing how much I appreciate the quality on the modern dolls. I really want Nicki and Isabel's full collection now. I'm going to keep their names because I'm a purist. I mentioned in the video that I'd rename Nicki to "Alex" if I were going to rename her. It was a very common girl name in the 90's and it's unisex, just like the name "Nicki"
@@idreamofjonnyI know I’m late to the comment section, but Nikki was a very common name in the ‘90’s, Isabel is more of a 2010’s name.
I was so excited for the 90s doll to come out after Courtney 1986... But when they announced 1999, I i was really upset as a 1984 baby, I was really hoping for a mid 90s girl. Oh well. I get they wanted the Y2K thing, but being skipped over as the first AG generation, I'm sad.
Do you have a video where you introduce yourself and tell your journey of getting (back) into collecting PC/AG dolls? Your content is so great, and I completely relate as a 40 year-old who became re-obsessed with the PC of my childhood out of the blue last year!
Jonny I love the clown show! Your playful commentary combined with your extensive knowledge makes watching your videos a joy. Loved the unboxing. I’m planning on getting Nicki and my Mom, who collects with me, will get Isabel. I was 12 in 1999 so the collection is very nostalgic to me too. I would love to see an in-depth video covering all the 90’s/00’s references.
I think Nicki and Isabel are so cute! My favorite little detail is the fact that the pattern on Nicki’s Jacket matches the one on Isabel’s skirt. Also, the strap around the waist in the box is actually very new, being first used on the 2023 girl of the year Kavi. Their wrists were strapped in instead until then. Great and very detailed unboxing!

I did not plan to buy these dolls, but then I just found myself placing an order. I got them yesterday, and OMG. I love them so much. They are perfect!!I had been putting together a Pinterest board for clothing I plan to make for mine while I waited for them to get here. I can't wait to start drafting patterns and making them more clothes!

I was able to purchase their journals second hand and now have the Pizza Hut set. I am interested in Nicki’s furniture accessories.
What these dolls mostly inspired was my interest in the 1995-1999 Girl of Today line! I am glad that they have inspired you to relax and enjoy playing with your dolls!

Absolutely love both of these dolls, they hit a special place in my heart being I grew up in the 90’s. The 90’s were the absolute best, love the ying yang choker one of my favorite pieces. Love the idea of putting band shirts of the 90’s on Nikki. Love that you brought up Hole, and letters to Cleo, veruca salt popped in my head as well and havnt thought about those bands in so long!! i don't collect AG, but i like your shelves.. . a lot of doll/toy rooms can look a little busy, but yours are really well displayed (i feel like using the coordinating burgundy boxes/ribbons help).. . i'd actually be interested in a video pulling back and showing the full shelving displays (maybe as a special episode for hitting 1k subs?)

Thank you for saying how nice they are in comparison to your original PC girls. So many PC collectors dis the newer dolls.
I love the twins and their collections. But, Isabel has a wig defect. So, her hair is thin enough to see the wig cap. So, I am waiting for the replacement doll. I find American Girl to be expensive. So, I got quite a few items on EBay. This includes the bloom bed from 2009 that has all of its parts and seems like it is in good shape. Because, I didn’t want to buy a bed for $150. I am waiting on rewards in order to buy Nicki’s skateboard outfit and Isabel’s Tennis outfit.

Jonny, Nicki is the older twin. Not Isabel. Just letting you know. Nicki was born first. Isabel was born after her. By the way, if I chosen Nicki's middle name, it would be Lea. And Isabel's would be either Quinn or Michele.

I have no American Girl dolls. My shelves are full of Gotz , RubyRed & Barbie. I actually use my dolls as a Muse for painting doll portraits. Not identical copies of the doll, but I try to convey the personality of each each doll in the portrait.
These two dolls peaked my interest though I’m MUCH older than 90s era.. I’ve been on the fence about branching into another brand. Your video has convinced me that it’s time to place my first order. Thank you so much for such a candid , genuine and absolutely delightful show.
That’s amazing, I love that, thank you! It’s so rare to find a Götz collector that doesn’t also collect American Girl. I’ve grown to love Götz dolls (and other German made doll lines) after learning about them from the Pleasant Company world. I definitely think you’ll love American Girl dolls. I’d recommend getting a 1980’s Pleasant Company doll because she’ll be most like a Götz doll from that era. Thanks so much for watching!

Nicki's middle name is Pearl! It says it later in her book, and in Isabel's book too. It doesn't really scream 90's to me, but it's still a really pretty name! And I agree with you, the hair on these dolls is phenomenal. I recently got Nicki, and my sister got Isabel. They both have the cutest little faces! American girl is definitely stepping up the quality with these dolls.

I was a vintage collector only until last year when I bought Corrine and Claudie! New faces molds?! Yes please! 😂 I felt the same way when I opened Corrine, like I was a kid again and it was an amazing moment since I didn’t get to have my first PC Samantha until I was an adult.

Nicki really does look like Alex Mack! That was one of my favorite shows as a kid. I thought the highlights were a bit odd--I didn't know a lot of 10-year-olds whose parents were letting them get highlights in the 90s--but looking at some old Larissa Oleynik photos, maybe that is what they were leaning into.
I'm mostly a Pleasant Company collector at the moment and it's been a long time since I bought anything new-new, so I love hearing your thoughts on the new dolls as a vintage collector. I was already excited about these dolls, but I’m even more so after seeing your positive review! As a 90s kid, I love seeing my childhood represented with these two! I’m hoping to get them later this year.
My favorite American girl doll is Leah because I have her and she was my first American girl doll the girl of the year from 2016. They don’t sell her anymore.
It might be just me but I personally don’t think that the twins (at lest in doll form) look like they are supposed to be 9 years old, they look like they are 13 or 15 and the oldest
I could see that, maybe! Because they’re in a major city, I do think they’d be a little more grown up than a country girl of the same age. Just my opinion though!

I’m new to your channel and I love your in depth reviews. I have decided to start an American Girl collection. I had Samantha as a kid and loved her so much. We didn’t have a ton of money so I’m making up for that now. I want to get Isabelle and Nicki and old girl of today outfits and recreate my youth lol. Isabelle reminds me of Cher from Cluless.

@@idreamofjonny it is a lot of stuff. I have them but not first editions. But all the Pleasant company ones. Rebecca is not actually PC but she is the old edition wearing the first Meet outfit. Actually, Josefina must be first edition. We got her when she first come out. I love their collections. I am thinking of selling a couple of my AG historical dolls and almost all of my GOTY. Why? They take up too much space. The GOTY don't capture my heart I have decided. Oh well, our collections are always in flux. That is the nature of the game. I bought way too much years ago. Now I want to curate my collection and sell the stuff that doesn't make my heart flutter.

Isabelle is really beautiful and charming, not only for her dress, but overall for her wonderful green eyes. I like very much even Nicki for her blue eyes... as Elton John sang: "Blue eyes / baby's got: blue eyes..." 🤩.

I lived there and I can confirm that the clothing on both of these twins is on point. You only have to go back and watch full House look at Mary-Kate and Ashley... They literally wear outfits just like this at the age these characters are supposed to be. ❤

I went to the AG place a couple days ago to pick out a Nikki and I will say it was hard to find one with perfect face paint but overall I’m quite impressed with the quality, her wig is SO thick and silky! (Although the little plastic AG logo on her dress is like falling off which is frustrating for how much I paid but not too bad for the biggest flaw)
