I'm glad this video series is helping you out. Its looks alot more intimidating than it really is. Im learning more and more day to day as we go deeper in the series. Thats great you still have the fan. To the best of my knowledge about 90 percent of the electrical is the same for all super beetles. I know the fuse box is a little different. The way the flow across the fuses. The ignition switch is diffrrent. Not sure about the wires in back of the switch. I do have the Bently service manual if you have any questions. If you need something explained, let me know. I can do a special video regards to your question. Thanks again for your support. More videos on the way. Have a good day my friend

The wire come off the ( S ) locatuon of the switch. It goes to the dimmer relay. Location ( S ) as well. Let me know if you got it, or need additional help. Look where the wires plug into the turn signal and dummer relay. Both will have the letter S on each end.

The red and brown wire I will look up. It sounds like rear window defroster if I remember correctly.

Mine go to the rear defroster. There should be a plastic gray cover over the wire, correct?

I forgot to add that many of the small diameter wires in my SB that go to the back lights had the wire insulation melted with the other small diameter wires going to the rear lights. Where possible I have replaced those wires with 16 AWG wires. This is not my first rewiring rodeo. I rewired a 1951 Studebaker when I was in my early 20s.. I am now 69.
Be careful of some of the new two wire or 4 wire connectors as they are all shorted together. Not at all like the VW 2 or 4 wire connectors. If you want to make a 2 or 4 wire connector super glue 2 or 4 single connectors together. Then you will have what was originally in your VW.
My car has most of the original wiring. My car came from Germany in 2015. Before that it was in storage for 37 years and it has only 53,020 km on the odometer. VW wiring is crazy. On American cars you usually have an ammeter and it has the big wires connected to it like the 6.0 mm2 wire from the battery in the VW.

Also check out the next video in the series. When I show the work on the car. I show the exact position on the top level of the fuse holder. Let me know if that helps.

A 0.5 square mm wire is not 22AWG. It is not the diameter it is the cross-sectional area a 0.5 sq. mm is 18 AWG. This is what it is supposed to be but on my car many of the 0.5 sq. mm are smaller than 0.5 sq. mm.
