I mounted these on a 2006 GMC 2500HD. Because the inner U-bolts are mounted so far out on the leaf springs from the center of the axle, when they are tightened to the 65 lb ft of torque required, they actually flatten the leaf pack causing the rear end to drop 3/4 of an inch. I read another reviewer mention this same issue. I sent photos of the leaf pack before and after the installation to Hellwig and they ok'd returning the springs. I used the proper kit for my truck and my installation was correct. Hellwig is an outstanding company and customer service is top notch. I just wished they would have worked on my particular year and model.
I installed these 2 leaf helper springs on my 2017 GMC 1500 SIERRA SLT CREWCAB 6.2 MOTOR, these are easy to install and help with no squatting of rear-end and does not effect ride quality. I pull a 24ft pontoon and 8.5x20ft enclosed trailer, because this truck came with 22 inch rims the factory tires (285x45x22) didn't have much for side walls, so didn't feel safe with the ride when towing. I recently bought load E range 285x50x22 TOYO OPEN COUNTRY A/T III, expensive tires they are but well worth it, the ride feels much safer and the mileage is the same. This was much cheaper than buying new 20inch rims and tires. Thanks Hellwig for a good product.
Never ever work on a car with jewelry on or long hair albeit it as beautiful as yours where it can get snagged on something moving or not, that said I am contemplating these for my 1997 s10 rwd all the new springs I see are to lower the truck but I want to bring it back to the height it was when new or fairly new.
Why use a double nut on the U-Bolt...why not supply with a plastic insert lock nut. That would make it much better. Hope you didnt lose a diamond from your ring honey wile working under the truck.
Frankly, I think for a high-load situation like this, I'd supply a kit with slightly ovaled bolts that won't back out. The shackle kit for my replacement leaf springs had 'em...was scared I cross-threaded them until I realized they were ALL like that!
Nylock nuts can fail and you cannot re-torque them. Installing pLaStIc iNsErT nUtS down facing and exposing them to the elements (water, dust, mud, salt, ice, etc) is not a good idea. A double nut is more dependable and less likely to fail. Lastly, making a joke about losing a diamond from a ring/somewhat implying that women can’t wrench doesn’t hold quite much water from a dude that has his cat as his profile pic. Perhaps they’re showing the ease of installation by showing that a girl in plain clothes and wearing jewelry can get it done - a man owning a cat just may be able to complete the task as well! Give fluffy a nice pet for me.
Honey!!!? Go to the store and get a couple of Hellwigs, install them while wearing your wedding rings, you know one with the big rocks.....haha, some ones fantasy?? You like woman mechanics,go to Girls Auto Clinic!

You were doing so good but them you called the impact gun a drill.
And you called the impact wrench an impact gun
It's an impact driver.
It was a lucky guy who bought that ring.
How do you know? She might a Psycho in 20 years.
She said "double nut"...

Why is there only leaf springs added to the driver side am I missing something
Adam Harrison, it’s a heavy driver. Lol
You have to watch the video twice and stand on your head for the second viewing.
“Even a girl can install it!” You did 1/3 of the assignment 😂
What is the weight rating on these?
Can u installing on my truck
Does this helper spring raise the back end of the truck at all or does it remain stock ride height after
Stock ride and height unless you crank them down for a heavy preload then you will stiffen and raise a little.
Helper springs do nothing for ride hight..... strictly for load capacity
@@thomasmcnicholas8656 but when I tow my camper, it sags 2 inches in rear, I guess this system will not help that, which is useless junk.
@@jefflancaster6587 it keeps it from squatting..

@@rescf02 grow a set
Her husband is the owner of Hellwig
will it work on front leaf springs on a Chevy 4x4
why would you even want to? Do you plan on towing a heavy load with the front of the truck? DUH
Will this fit on a 1999 Dodge ram 1500
if you order parts for a 99 ram,do you have common sense?
@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 Idk about tow capacity or performance but a 99 will get you back and forth much longer than what ram puts out today.
how much would a set of those cost for a 1992 S10, thats would be alot easier than replacing the leaf springs.
I Put Hellwig springs on my 04 2 wheel drive and it is a total waste of money and I mean total
Give us some details about the system failure. Rear end still bouncy? Rear end sag when towing.?
All the dudes that can’t install these punching the air right now.
I believe you skipped some crucial steps young lady
who else bought helper springs thinking they were leaf springs
Very poor install video, even though I get the idea. The girl is cute...geezz
Couldn’t agree with you more
Very easy thanks for showing
she broke a nail

some fool is paying for that big diamond, wait until a few years when she want a divorce and take half of his shit.
"Even" a girl?? It's 2021. Of course a girl could do it!
Anything is possible with enough pre-workout and testosterone boosters.
As soon as I saw the ring, I was like DONE watching. Get fucking real.
