I can imagine this used in a Star Wars fan film, because there are parts of it that could easily fade into Duel Of The Fates, or the Imperial March, or even the Force Theme.
Nice tense starting. I'd like to think a small one-man transport or a larger cargo ship encounters a massive battle cruiser. I like this, it makes me think that a space battle between huge ships would be more like a sea battle between galleons. Slow and cumbersome, each shot fired is weighty and each shot hit does obscene damage. Awesome.
Unfortunately for that image of big galleon-esque battleships trading massive broadsides, any sort of realistically plausible space combat is going to be very rapid, with ships shelling each other from hundreds of kilometers away and moving at multiple kilometers per second relative to each other. Kinetic rounds will probably be light, to get the most possible muzzle velocity (and thus the most range), with range determined by how fast a target can dodge. Although obscene damage is right. Even a ten-kilo round moving at, say, a reasonable 10 km/s is the equivalent of roughly 120 kilos of TNT, but focused infinitely more precisely on a single point.

So what if your torch drive can burn hard enough to put your closest approach to the target within a few hundred meters? As you close the range, the time which it takes for enemy kinetic weapons to reach you gets proportionally smaller, which means the acceleration you need to pull to dodge gets greater. Once the acceleration needed to dodge is greater than that your drive can put out, you are shredded into little bitty bits by ten-kilo slugs moving at 10 kps. Even scarier than kinetics are lasers, which _can't_ be dodged (unless you are always dodging) and which become able to focus down onto spots as small as a few nanometers as you drop the range. And this is all considering ranges of a few hundred km. Once you get into things like particle beams or torch missiles, there simply isn't a point to getting within a few hundred kilometers. As engines get more efficient, so do weapons, and more efficient weapons can generally deal damage at longer ranges simply by virtue of throwing the slug faster, or making the beam tighter, or (in the case of missiles) being able to burn for longer, and therefore get more velocity towards the target. And speaking of missiles, you generally want to be farther away from a target with missiles - otherwise, your missile simply won't be able to empty its fuel tanks before hitting the target, meaning it will be coming in slower, meaning it will be easier for enemy point defense to hit (by virtue of said point defense having more time to shoot it down), meaning your kill probability is lower... etc etc. So. Yeah. TL:DR: Movies ≠ scientific accuracy.

Man, keep up the great work. I would love to see a whole Album that is space oriented like this. In fact, i love the way you did "At the Gates of Babylon" from Creation of the World with the strings which reminds me of "Journey to Rome Part 2" from the Rome Total War soundtrack, which was the best track there without a doubt. If you used this talent and crossed this space themed music with a thematic from our old historical cultures like Ancient Egypt, Classical Greek and Romans, you could make the perfect Warhammer 40k soundtrack (as various space marine legions have their own individual cultures that parallel the old Earth cultures the likes of egyptians, classical greeks, romans, vikings/nords, slavs etc.) It would be glorious.
The second part is the best if you ask me. Full of battle images. But with this empire falling, I guess that another will rise and gain the same power.

People have many reasons to like something, maybe they like'd it because it's space like, but maybe someone actually liked it because it's that generic epic music. Maybe video's maker knew this kind of title sucks people in, or he actually meant it to be space like. Of course people have different taste and opinions, that's why I went little sarcastic there, which I apologize. To me this sounds like it can fit in literally ANY fantasy battlefield, that's why I can't feel it to be specifically for space battle. I was looking for more UFO, futuristic or mechanical type of music back then when I posted my message. Only part that slightly gave that feel I was looking for was after 4:00
Honestly I was really digging the first part, very traditional roman imperialistic esque music, very warhammer, or amarrian ie. eve online. Didn't like the transition into digital sci fi mass effect esque style.
