Real talk over here. He’s basically unbeatable but only for one minute of the day, the battle against zeldris was my favorite since it truly showcased how beyond everyone he is in power, but he can be beaten with the right tactic

@@ne9835 yes it’s worth it. The first two seasons are amazing however the 3rd seasons budget was pretty crappy so the animation is nowhere as good as the last seasons, but the story and character make it worth alone.

Everything about Escanor just comes together so well: like the sun, he stands over everyone. Also like the sun, there is nobody like him in both character and power. The lion is correlated to the sun in mythology and represents a king, seeing as Escanor is a former prince of his own kingdom. Much like a real lion, he risks his own life for the sake of his pride (a group of lions is called a pride).

I really love how the show plays on the nuances of the sins. Arrogance and low self esteem are two sides of the same coin. Having one's self value often in comparison to others. Yet Escanor also displays the two virtues often confused for low self esteem or arrogance/wrongpride. He is meek/humble by night and exuding confidence by day. Note that his meek/humble nature is not in conflict with with confidence the slightest because he never actaully self depreciates himself at night. Some say humility often is in association to truth. He sees the situation for what it is and doesnt ever waiver his self value becasue of it.
