The monster is the anxiety, you should check out their rock-star prologue. This album feature 4 main emotions - happiness, anger, sorrow & pleasure. And if u notice right before first chorus, a character disappear (that was anger).. in different scenes, one by one disappears until only pleasure character, which is pronounced as “rak”.. which is also the title and word emphasised in this song (rock, which sounds like rak). So the message is like whatever happens, no matter if things are hard etc, in the end hopefully only the pleasure remains.
Stray kids lyrics are well known to have lots of wordplay, which is very interesting to explore.

Long explanation short... the song is about conquering your fears. All the creatures represented different negative emotions. Stray Kids does a lot of social and mental health commentary in their songs.
They write and self produce about 99% of their songs.
    Maniac or Gods Menu next.

The mv is a metaphor for stage fright. There are 4 feelings, they disappear one by one until the pleasure remains. There are references to the film Black Knight and One Piece (Buggy mask and pirates).
    Skz loves Anime 😊

Stray Kids will perform for the first time at Billboard Music Awards on November 19th. they will perform two songs - the title song LALALALA from the new album and the title song S-Class from the previous album 5 STAR. They are the kings of live performances. Also check out their MV for the song S-Class, they performed the same song on the VMA stage this year

Welcome to Stray Kids! They have a lot of variety to offer. If you want more hype songs I recommend S-class or God's Menu. If you would like to hear more of their sentimental melodic side I recommend the songs Taste or Cover Me these aren't title tracks but the color coded lyric videos are great. They are under JYP but they produce their own beats and lyrics. Thank you for reacting!

Thanks for your reaction. More MVs for this album will probably drop soon so for now checkout older MVs. They’ve 200 songs to choose from so some don’t have MVs. Maybe the last album - SClass, Topline, Super Bowl, Get Lit. They are known for their high energy music but if you want something a little more vocally driven maybe try Leave concert performance from this album Rock star or Youtiful from their last album 5 Star. Enjoy.

It's about fear of performing but overcoming it the little kids represent them and the giant and the Korean symbol that disappeared is fear personified that's how a Korean reactor described it. Facing your fears and letting go.

Thank you so much!!! I love your energy and your friendship hahaha how you where explaining your crazy idea about MV and your friend trying so hard to hear respectfully without laughing it was so cute hahahahaha
i am so glad you did like stray kids new title songs they are amazing, they are a group of 8 members they all can dance, sing, rap and also they songwrite and produce almost 100% of their music ✨️✨️✨️ to fully undestan the MV you probably need to deep in their story , i see someone commenting about overcoming your fears, your negative emotions and thats right, they use 4 different scenes that represents an emotion and they go defeat them until just "pleasure" remains, in fact the new album (rock-star) is a word play , the word "rock" is an homophone from "pleasure" in Korean language.
Also de bus and the las scenes when they look above to where the boys are , both are references from their first two songs as a group "hellevator" pre debut song and "district 9" their debut title song.. stray kids have been in the music industry 5 years now but they struggled a lot at the beginning because they where pretty different for what kpop music was those days, but they instead o changing their sound keep being themselves which has lead them to finally being recognized all over the world, this year they headed lollapalooza in paris, won best K-pop in mtv music award with another banger "s-class", where named "next leader generation " by TIMES, are being considered for a Grammy and they will perform next Sunday in billboard music awards ❤❤❤ so i think after all the hardwork and adversities they've been going through the years this song is like a resume, they finally feel like they can simply enjoy what they are doing without fear ❤❤❤
Sorry about the long comment hahaha i didn't planned to be that long but o got emotional in the middle hihihi again thank you so much and please more stray kids in the future 🎉🎉🎉🎉

I'll give you a long break down of the video. I think the giant figures represent Fear & stage fright. (They also seem to be based on Japanese spirits of drowned sailors called Umibozu) They dissipate when the words of the emotions in the children's heads disappear. I believe the characters are the words Joy, Anger, Sorrow, and Happiness/pleasure. (This is what I have been told. It seems to be a mix of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean, and I can read none of those.) There are four factions for four groups of the members. Since the four factions represented emotions, the locations were different. Anger was at the bottom of the ocean. It's a dense emotion that we try to smother & it thrives under pressure. The members who represent this emotion are pirates. Joy was a bank. It's an emotion that we store & take out for special things. The members that represent this emotion are in denim, but surrounded by clowns who look like the ones from the Dark Knight. Sorrow was a stark place of floating ash and monuments that were like graves. The members who represent this emotion are in pale & washed out colors mixed with white. Happiness/Pleasure was in a fort of musical instruments. It's an emotion that's loud & messy. We hear it before we see it. The members who represent this emotion look a lot like people from Mad Max mixed with military.
Now. Anger attacked Joy first. They bypassed Sorrow altogether. (You can see this in the map they showed.) But it didn't turn out. Anger was defeated & captured. That was the first word to dissipate. The next to fall was Joy. Happiness/Pleasure snuck in disguised as clowns & planted a bomb. (We saw I.N talking on a communicator & one of the clowns also had one. He later takes off the mask as he leaves revealing it's Han) The bomb went off. Since the bus was in both Joy & Sorrows' realms (Back half in Joy, front in Sorrow. We can't have one of those emotions without having felt the other.) we see the explosion as the camera pans to Sorrow, and the word for Joy dissipates as well. Sorrow falls & we see that Happiness/Pleasure is all that remains. They have gathered parts of the other emotions & folded them into their own. Happiness/Pleasure is very nuanced. It can contain elements of the other emotions and still be the same.
Also. I think Lee Know said (In the video with them reacting to the music video) that the children are them when they were young. And over the years these emotions that they felt at varying times have been "defeated" and all that's left is pleasure in their music. The sequence of emotions & dissipation of said emotions seems to mirror their own journey. When they first started, everything was pretty evenly balanced. They hit a few hard times & anger kinda made an appearance, but then they started enjoying things more....Then Woojin left & sorrow took hold for a while. But they came out of that better balanced, and now are taking pleasure in their work once again. Currently they take pleasure in their work, it's tempered with the other emotions, but the dominating drive they have is happiness & pleasure. The lyrics of the song are about locking away your stress & meeting the world with fun & music.
The bus is an interesting thing. As well as being between the the factions of Joy & Sorrow (The back part was fully in Joy's section....But the front was in Sadness. Almost as if it had crashed into it.) , it's actually a call back to their beginning. And it's not the one from District 9, it's the one from Grow Up that was heading to District 9. I do think the District number being 325 is significant. Since that is the debut date, it has now become the beginning district. It WAS district 9 for the 9 of them, but that has changed over the years. And it is no longer just them. They invited ALL of us in in Back Door. At the beginning, it was small & sheltered. They were very careful of their district. But as they grew in confidence, they threw the notice out to everyone who wants to enter...All we have to do is knock.
And Felix didn't swear. Felix is saying the Korean word for Shh. I believe it's Swit? So it's a work around on the no swearing rule. Stray Kids love homophones. I mean, look at the title for the album & this song. It means happiness/pleasure in Chinese. But it sounds like the English word "rock". So the album is Rock Star, and it's all about emotions. Every song on this album is designed to touch our emotions in different ways.

  • @lella1213
    @lella1213 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

LOL you were soooo off the right meaning of the song, but props for trying. The children have stage frights (the monsters represent negative emotions). Stray Kids’ song urges the listener to enjoy the music, and one by one the negative emotions disappear, leaving only “pleasure”. Stray Kids is a Korean 8 members group, extremely talented and self-produced (active since 2018). Since they produce their own songs (which is not common in Kpop) they experiment a lot, and have perfected a sound that is unmistakably “Stray Kids” (I suggest trying to follow along by reading the English subtitles since they write very meaningful lyrics, or maybe read the lyrics before watching the MV). They are amazing artists who can dance, rap, sing, and their M/Vs are some of the best in the industry. I recommend S-Class, Thunderous and Venom next (they have produced over 180 songs, so lots to choose from).

Loved your story and loved the reaction. Since you like Anime they have Top which was from Tower of God. From this same album as this song is Megaverse. My favorite older song Double Knot. Best Japanese collab Lisa (singer from (Demon Slayer) Social Path. And semi ballad Scars my favorite slower song. Just a happy song my fav The View. Fav current rap song Top Line. Dark but cool beats Venom. They have so many but this is just a few

I absolutely loved your take on the video. I laughed to much. It was awesome and very imaginative. One thing about Stray Kids is that their videos are built around a multiverse concept. Their videos are innertwined with each other. There are Stray Kids lures. They like to reference a lot of images with their likes, like One Piece, Comic book characters like the joker, anime, superheroes etc. There never a dull moment with them. Everything they do is purposely thought out and for a specific reason.
