Another excellent video, thank you!! I think 3/4s view is definitely the hardest, especially making the eyes look right with one slightly smaller/further away
Excellent video as always! 😉 I would say I find the side view the most challenging but I really like your tips, I will use them! But what I really find hard is to draw a face looking up or down and also in combination with a quarterview for example. You're always welcome to make a video about that 😁 grts!
Thanks! At the moment I mostly do because the second layer is more defined and darker if the first layer is dry. But if I want a more blended color I add second layer to damp first layer 👍🏼
Thanks for these amazing tips . I would request you to please do share the link of the used photo for our practice . and I need you to explain can we use same 4 dot template for any photo ?
I always struggled with side profiles SO MUCH. i watched this video and then watched again while drawing along and omg? This is literally the first time i've ever drawn a decent looking side profile without it looking crooked or wrong. I cannot thank you enough, you made it look easy enough and turned out it kinda is??
This was an amazing demonstration. I myself have been getting looser with my drawings as well, with enough practice I hope to be as loose and skillful as you. More demonstrations on the other angles would be much appreciated as well.
Really helpful! I finf tih profile face te most difficult to draw, so thank you. But I would love to have a break down option for the other prifiles of the head. You way of teaching is so easy to follow, love it.
For me the straight on view is the most challenging. Also, if there is not much shadow on the face I find it more difficult. Great tutorial, thank you!
I recently tried sketching on paper that has some "tooth". I find that it helps to create that loose feel because the pen kind of hangs up on it. It's harder to draw a smooth curve so you can actually get a loose feel.

These are really useful tips and it's great how loose it feels! You should make a series for a straight on view and 3/4 view too!
That’s great to hear! Will do🤗

3/4 view please
Thanks a lot
3/4 view is the hardest. Side is simplest for me.
All of it, Im having a hard time sketching faces lately
3/4 view is hardest for me.
3/4 profile is hell
i'm trying so hard with ipad.. sketches turn out very good but the coloring is just so bad...
Great template Scottie 😃. 3/4 head tutorial would be cool to see. Do you always let your base colors dry before adding the shadows?

This was the best tutorial ive found so far for side profiles! thank you!!
Thank You! For the first time I am happy with the people I am sketching! I think for me 3/4 view is the hardest.
i need to be less calculated. I admire this loose style but my brain keeps overthinking it.

that’s good to hear that you are getting more loose in your sketching! Keep up the great practice 👍🏼
👍 best tutorial page for me thank you
Amazing as usual, Scottie! I'm going to try this tomorrow.
thanks Kelz! Hope you have fun👍🏼
I find 3/4 hardest because of the lack of symmetry and the foreshortening.
I’ll make sure I talk about foreshortening👍🏼
Please do a 3/4 view profile video
Terrific, Scottie! Thanks so much 😊
Glad you liked it!
I find 3/4 view the hardest
Wow 😳
Thanks Nick👍🏼
Front view for me, eye placement & accuracy is always an issue. I gravitate a lot to 3/4 or more complex angles of the face
yes in some ways 3/4 is easier as features don’t have to be exactly symmetrical 😊
Side profiles ❤

that’s a great point! I find the same thing as the rough texture can guide the pen in random directions which creates a nice ‘wobble’ to the line.
So good! Ty
love it
