Something tells me they bought the house with the hot tub already there. As nice as the pad around it is, doesn't look like the kind of people paid for it that would only have it cleaned twice in 14 years. The house itself is also dirty and in need of a scrubbing.
I had a good laugh once you finally said "you might recognize it" because when I started the video I stopped almost immediately to check the posting date because of the deja vu!
13:00 the foam really shows how dirty it still is After getting it cleaned like that it does seem very clean. But personally after seeing what was originally in it, I don't think I could get myself to use it.
We drain and scrub ours every 4 months. I cannot imagine the smell when they opened it 😫 If they aren't going to use it then why pay the money to clean it and refill?? That is just foul!!
At this point they should remove it, they don’t need it. I’m only at 9:08 but this thing needs some chemicals. Just spraying it with water ain’t gonna cut it.

I know. Utterly filthy and left like that. Mould and crap everywhere. I could expect it if it was switched off and abandoned. But it was running on tick over! I bet in a few weeks it will look just as messy, some people are utter filthy trolls and just plain lazy. They could have got a pressure washer out, drained it and cleaned it easily enough, some pool cleaner and a bit of scrubbing and it would be done. If they cant manage that they should not have one of these things....
@@QueenMotherTroll Well it will cost to keep it heated. And if you are not going to use it over winter or whatever, the sensible thing to do would be to drain it out totally, cover it and keep it switched off. Thus saving energy and not letting it fill up with leaves, crap and nasties! If you buy the house and its out there and you dont want to use it or dont use it much, then sell it on! Its common sense, which seems to have gone out of the window altogether these days in the Uk.
@@SpyricaDragoste Yes I totally agree with you. And that then also shows exactly what sort of a person you are. It reflects on you. So if you pay a lot for a big house, and lots of nice things, and then leave it to get messy, dirty and run down, it shows you are a lazy, slovenly person. And that you have no respect for those things, and so probably little for people as well. And that you are arrogant and have more money than you need, in order to allow stuff to get in such a state as you dont care enough and dont need to. In other words, you are more than likely an arrogant A hole. I have met plenty of people like that, and they all fit that exact description of their traits. And this hot tub is just another example. Any one who is remotely practical or has more than one brain cell would have had the common sense to empty it out and switch it off. If only to save on electric and money. So I stand by what I said above. And paying someone to do a simple job like draining it, hosing it out and a bit of cleaning is just so lazy it sickens me....I am older than the two lads in this video, and I could and would have done that job with ease, if only to ensure I did not have a vat of bacteria sitting in my garden! Truly incredibly stupid....
I've not seen skudge like that in a very, very long time. Not since I worked as a garbo. That's some real skudge. If you don't know the word? It's a portmanteau of sludge and scum. It got a real stickiness to it, it somehow can kinda move and flow, while also working better than any glue you've ever seen.
That water was so dirty that it had turned black with mildew! The filters were pretty filthy too! 🤢🤮 What kind of eggs were those? Frog? Slug? Pretty gross, whatever they were! I actually do have a fear of spiders so I had to look away when you showed that giant spider! 😰 The hot tub did clean up nicely though!
The eggs in the filters were old slug eggs that haven’t hatched, could have been duds. The orange ones in the beginning were fertile and could have hatched. 😂
For that Turbo nozzle, try a either higher gallon per minute nozzle or a lower gallon per minute nozzle, depending on what type of machine youre running and tis gpm, a proper nozzle for it shouldnt leave any streaks at any speed you run the wand over grime.
Beautiful work!!! I don’t know how you both managed it without moaning about the state of it. I would have recoiled violently seeing the eggs in person. They could hatch at any second! 🙃
I was an apprentice working on these things for a place in my home state. The longest part of the job was waiting for them to refill when people had no water pressure.
Easy I used to work for a hot tub company and to start of with just blast it with a pressure washer as it gets drained and then flush it all through then fill it up and check everything is working from electronic parts and water flow, bin them filters they are knackered, the head cushions and tub cover eventually perish due to chemical damage, heater is probably a 2kw or 3kw two to three pump system maybe even a blower, then if all is good start treatment with chemical's adjusting the pH plus and pH minus and chlorine if of course it's chlorine being used. You can definitely tell if a customer looks after and uses their tub 😁😁😁😁
If you plan to buy a house with a pool or hot tub, be prepared to do the basic routine maintenance on it. If you find yourself not using it as much as you thought, could you at least drain it and put the cover on to keep it clean? For pools, maybe fill with big foam cubes for a fun jumping pit!
Really like your videos always nice to see the before and after at the end. For someone having a very nice backyard surprised they let that hot tub get that disgusting. If i lived in the UK Id definitely hollla at my pool boi for some pool work 😂

I'm sure you have bought things thinking you were going to use it regularly. Same here, just money burning their pockets, but they still want it.
