Wow never knew May wasn't on One Year of Love. Johnny Deacon imho doesn't get enough credit for his contributions. What a classic by him! The quiet ones are always very talented as well!! I hope he is well whatever he is doing!!

And I'm trying to have some high energy frequency. Because it is the last night of the Lion's Gate Portal. When the sun and Sirius line up together. Sorry, trying something new. 🤣🌠☀

ONE YEAR OF LOVE written by our Deaky for the Highlander film. John said that Freddie was his voice. Can you imagine writing a song knowing that Freddie would lend his emotional perfect vocals?? Okay, and now we have BIJOU .. Brian’s Red Special weeping for Freddie. 🥺 And in the middle of all that beauty, in comes Freddie singing the most beautiful lyrics ever written! 💎✨Great reaction, thank you!!

The 1986 film HIGHLANDER starred Sean Connery, Christopher Lambert, and Clancy Brown (The Kurgan). Plot - Immortals in a battle “there can only be one” and the only to kill an immortal is to cut off their head. The one who beheads the other experiences the “awakening”, which means he receives that immortal’s power! Lambert plays McLeod, an immortal who falls in love watching his loved ones grow old & die while battling the other immortals. The Kurgan is the villain here. Hence, One Year Of Love! ❤️‍🩹

"One Year of Love" is a great song. It's recorded in a whimsical stye that conveys satisfsction in having a special love and a contentment with the experience in that moment knowing it will not last. The desperation and need is at once being fulfilled and fearfully on the way again and he knows it making the desperstion of loving fulfillment in the momenr all the more intense. "Bijou" is a song of tremendous irony. A baubble, a plaything, a trinket, is just never the center of anything significant or everlasting. But an intricate but small and precious thing stays rooted in the mind and heart. When the bijou is a person, intricate and precious, then one is can be so easily captivated by them. The guitar leaves me with such longing, such need, and, ironically, such loneliness. Far from being a trinket( the irony) what Freddy is describing is a longlasting, an eternal love of significance. The bijou is no longer a small trinket but a defining and sustaining love. The guitar!!!! The melody!!! Freddie's vocals!!! Magic!!! This song just leaves a lump in my throat. Thanks for another fantastic substantive reaction.

Wow…. that guitar on “Bijou”!! I could’ve listened to that for so much longer. Nice choices for today, although I’ve not followed Queen that closely, there are a select few of their songs that I really like.

Yes, too short! Never heard Brian play quite like that! Cool.. too many bands, too little time, but your musical catalog and concert history is MOST impressive... 👍

Thank you for your reactions to two uniquely beautiful songs. I have both of these songs in one category in my Queen/ Freddie file in my brain. 😂 These songs are nothing alike and yet they are. I can’t figure it out … hope you can. When it comes to Queen I gave up years ago trying to understand how they affect me so much. I suppose you either understand Queen was the world’s greatest band or you don’t . Anyway… Thanks ✌🏼👑

When I first heard OYOL I was thrown off with the synth, drum machine strings. But then I saw a reaction channel and that person went on about the strong R&B vibe. Freddie's vocals (which just tear s through you), turned on the lights for me. And Bijou...just a gorgeous way to be transported. Thanks for sharing these - they both deserve attention like all the Queen gems do.

Man….on Bijou, you just know it’s Brian May playing, don’t you. Such a unique sound on that guitar. Beautiful, exquisite solo
Only bitch: I wish he’d held that last note twice as long.

I saw Queen's final UK performance in 1986. They were magnificent, as you would expect.
John is a very underrated songwriter. 1991, I think Freddie could barely stand by then. Poor guy, what a waste of talent, so young, really.

Wow, that's amazing! Wish I would have seen them live, but I suppose I was a tad too young, as my first concert wouldn't be till 4 years later. Yes, thank goodness we have so much of his talent documented in audio and video for all time!
