This has to be one of Pokémon's big brain moments. And Salome was the only one that came up with the Smack Down tactic. Too bad she doesn't have the *high horsepower* for it...
This is certainly one of 'caught me off-guard' moment. I also overlooked its Levitate because "hey that's her last pokemon, she'll certainly tera'd to electric here so let's use ground move". Got me bamboozled and actually consider gym tera to be challenging for once lmao
It's kinda humbling as someone who's played the game since the beginning to realize that maybe the games aren't TOO easy per se, but just that we have just finally become pokemon masters
Iono's gym test was definitely one of the harder ones this gen. Brassius would have been tough if he actually decided to use a rock move instead of spammin Trailblaze. A mon with fury cutter is pretty scary for a first gym leader, but unfortuantely for Katy, nearly everyone who has played the game has ended up overleveled and oneshots everything. Grusha can be scary with the speedboost from tailwind, but Ice tera Altaria is a bit of a pushover. Tulip using fairy moves might be a bit of a struggle if you are using dark types, but she has no coverage for bug or ghost. Kofu... has a crab..
Yeah some gym leaders definitely use it better than others. Frankly Katy’s plan doesn’t work all that well in my opinion because let’s be honest: most players can take out Teddyursa before it’s Fury a utter stacks to be a threat, even without being overleveled.
The Misdreavus/Mismagius line has always been one of my absolute favourites in Pokémon, for a number of changing reasons throughout the years. Misdreavus was a great, ominous addition to the Ghost Type back in Gen II. Then came it's almost BROKEN mechanics during Pokémon Colusseum. Then, in Gen IV, came the multiple sets you could make with both the pre AND post evolutions, depending on what you wanted to do with them in battle, and so on. They always seem to find a good way to make these two Pokémon really fun to use or battle against.
Ive seen showdown plays for this, fun fact, shedninja does get sunny day to avoid such issues. Yiu can definitely time it agajnst the shedninja, but shedninja can theoretically deal with that too
Everyone talking about Salome's Smack Down play, but nobody talking about how Bae was smart enough to see through the trick from the very beginning.

Was never a problem for me. My ground type attack was on Tinkaton...who had mold breaker, and didn't pay attention to levitate

Salome with the 100,0000 IQ play tho.
1, 10, 100, 1000, 10000 perfect IQ
While the play works in theory, Naclstack's Sp Atk is terrible, and Mismagius has high Sp Def, so it didn't really work out in the end.
Baelz saw through it though.
I know that we’re all focused on Mismagius but Kanata’s clip proves that Whitney’s power does indeed have no limits.
Normal Types are a cursed Gym...
Whitney, Norman, Larry... I think BW / BW2 are the only leaders "ok" in difficult?

iono terastalizing mismagius into an electric type really caught me off guard
quite the clever way of using tera for a gym leader

I'm actually kinda glad our JP bros are as scarred for life as we are. We can all stand united in our hatred for Miltank.

I definitely forgot Mismagius' ability was Levitate when i first played
Funny thing is, even if it didn't have levitate, Mud Shot wouldn't do much on Mismagius' high sp def.
This is like a very wasted opportunity for Pokémon. Imagine they bring out a Pokémon into ice, and it has fire absorb.
Flash fire*

But you know what was the hardest?! LARRY, BRO MANAGED TO WIPE ME OUT AND I HAD TO FUCKING BURN TACTICS (Love him tho❤)
I dunno, during rematches, that sudowoodo hit me with a stone edge and sped up with trailblazes and nearly wiped me

Have you seen the design for the Mismagius trainer in Conquest? The major trainer designs are based on their partner mons.
They keep forgetting we're rooting for Iono to win
Salome is truly a genius!! But she forgot about the sheer power her pokemon has xD
Love that you included Salome!
